I love action he’s a great entertainer but the show was short. No opening act and a lot of interludes. The set started exactly in time which is cool 9pm to 10pm that’s was it. For 70 dollars. Kind of felt jipped or maybe it’s just inflation again. Wish there was an encore or atleast a DJ spinning hiphop or something at the end or before the show.
These guys put on an awesome show. I was not very familiar with them up till now but they gained a new fan, I even bought one of their bad ass shirts. I loved their outfits and their style, and after 30 years as a band it's nice to see them helping keep metal and heavy music alive. 🤘🤘
This is the second time I have seen Lily preform. The first time was at Bottlerock in Napa, CA. She has a beautiful voice which is clear and strong. She sometimes let's out a little raspiness if the song calls for that. She was personable, humble, appreciative and caring for the entire audience. Her set was TOO SHORT (not her choice I am sure). The venue was small which was great. It was too warm. I will look for another Lily performance opportunity.
The balconey seats were definitely worth it. I loved seeing Griff live! She's got such great energy and fills up the stage and the room with her presence. I loved it when she went down into the crowd and played up close and personal in the middle of the pit. Felt a bit like I missed out sitting all the way up on the 2nd floor, but we got a much better view than anybody who wasn't literally right next to her did. This is my second time at the Regency Ballroom! Great venue.
The first band was literally too loud to hear. There is more to music than bass drum and bass. The best that could be said for their drummer is that he was aggressive.
Warpaint's sound tech had a more reasonable volume and a much better balance, and you could actually hear them. I came for Warpaint's drummer and she did not disappoint. She fit some wonderfully complex rhythms into the basic rock beat. She & bass worked well together
Great set list, great sound, great vocals, I highly recommend the band, they are down to earth people after the concert Dan came down from the stage to greet the crowd hand by hand, Jason and
Don and Dekker were very polite when asked for autographs and they were very happy to sign my poster, the merch was very affordable patches only $5 and y shirts only $25 we were able to buy 3 different designs. Thank you Agalloch.
Mind blowing performances. Made me actually feel like I was at a Genesis performance from 50 years ago. Completely surreal experience. Stage theatrics were phenomenal they made me appreciate what PG contributed to this band in the early days and what changed in his absence. Acoustics were excellent. Sonically these guys replicated every note to perfection. I could feel the bass instruments and kick drums rattling my bones the whole time. Thunderous and the room acoustics enhanced the feeling. Bits like apocalypse in 9/8, music box, moonlit knight, and the knife were heavy and intense. Awesome venue but deducting one half star for the folding chairs and non stadium seating which made it challenging to see the whole stage from the back rows. Will buy front row next time!
this was the first concert i’ve ever attended and it did not disappoint. current joys brought the energy and the crowd reciprocated it back, to say the least it was the most magical experience i’ve ever had at a concert especially being in the pit. i’d hope current joys will come back to SF again because i’d love to attend another wonderful show!
Venue:
This was my 1st time at the Regency Ballroom, despite having lived in the Bay Area my entire life. There is ample street and lot parking within a few blocks. We sat in the balcony (old folks like to sit down). The view of the stage was very good, and the venue is intimate. The line to get in was insanely long for some reason (looked like slow security screening), so we missed Living Colour's first song .
Living Colour:
I had not seen them since the early 90's (Muzz Skillings was still bass player), but never stopped being a fan (and listening to them). Their performance was strong, genuine and played with the same precision that I remember from long ago - it was like time never passed. They played songs from Vivid (Open Letter to A landlord, Cult of Personality, Funny Vibe, etc.) and smattering from other albums/covers in a completely ferocious set. A key highlight was Corey Glover walking around the balcony during a song. When their set ended , all I could think was "poor Extreme, how the hell are they going to follow this?". Yes , they were that good.
Extreme:
Extreme rose to the occasion, and did indeed keep up with Living Colour. A 2+ hour set that was clearly (but incredibly tastefully) focused on Nuno Bettencourt (who has obviously become his own thing with things like Generation Axe and that Rhianna thing :) ) , but also giving ample spotlight to the rest of the band. EVERY song was with maximum intensity/sincerity, with just about everything I came to hear being played: Cupid's Dead, Rise, Rest in Peace, etc. This was not your typical "AARP age band tours for money thing" - Extreme's performance was all in, full commit and .. EXTREME!
If you are considering attending a subsequent show on the tour, rest assured you will get your money's worth
The band was on fire and I found myself just smiling the whole time…out of “pure musical joy”! It was well worth the 15 year wait to see them again for those 2 incredible hours. Nuno is THE greatest living guitarist in a rock band, who is still currently performing. Period. If you’re a fan…don’t miss this go around. Travel far if you have to! GO SEE THEM. Extreme rules!!!
Death Angel gave another GREAT performance , as ALWAYS. They’re ALL great musicians, natural born performers and are as exciting to watch as Led Zeppelin was. Their songs are also top-notch and I will catch them next time at the Great American Music Hall 12/21 and 12/22. They ROCKED the Regency’s RAFTERS to a packed house on fans!
Amazing. First time at this venue. Mainly came to see HTS, but every band who performed killed tf out of all their performances. So much energy everywhere & I didn't even know it was day 1 of TSOAF tour, which was awesome & I'm honored to have started off 2023 with a concert of bad ass people. I'll be at kill iconic tomorrow too, so I'm stoked to see them again!
I’m utterly AWESTRUCK! This was my first concert since the pandemic, so I made it count! Flew all the way down from Oregon to see this legendary band and threw in extra for the M&G. This entire trip was worth every Penny (and the lack of sleep lol). Blackie was absolutely wonderful; very kind, wise, and has so much to tell, even when he’s busy and knows he has to be somewhere. He will still make the time for his fans and answer any question you have. I was so nervous to meet him until he walked into the room; it felt like your friendly old neighbor coming in just to say hi — it’s so refreshing to meet a star who still knows how to be a human being.
As for the show, everyone was in top form — even during the last leg of a busy tour! I’d never seen Armored Saint before (nor never really listened to them), but HOLY COW they blew me away right from the gate! I think they’ve just earned themselves a new fan (hahaha)! W.A.S.P. didn’t take long to get on stage after AS. Once again, Blackie and the boys didn’t disappoint. Getting rushed in the crowd was worth it — I was only being pushed closer to the front row! I’ll remember and cherish this night for a very long time… and I Blackie Gale the same — and really does enjoy the drawing I gave him at the M&G (hahaha).
Machune Girl was an amazing opener! I got in the venue a bit late because it was so difficult to find parking so I missed half of their set. I wish I could have seen their whole performance, but what I saw was so good. The Garden was also very good, the energy in the room was great. had a great time!
unreal. they were so clean and in their pocket. the entire building was shaking from people stomping and shouting for an encore (for at least a few straight minutes) before they ripped the most epic encore i’ve ever seen. every single person was tuned into them and fully feeling it. their talent is so clear and i feel privileged to have experienced it in person!!!! never been happier about a sore neck and bruised legs. my friend did get felt up by a dude multiple times so if the band had a talk about accountability and treating women right before the show i think that would be really cool, especially because of the ratio of men to women. it can feel unsafe (the pit is like the safest place to be believe it or not). this is a thing for the industry as a whole rn tho, and isn’t just polyphia who should be having more of these talks. i love them and love this venue and can’t wait to see them again.
It was 100% awesome & I've met him b4 the concert so I have 2 say it was dream come true. meet me @ the altar were kick-ass whn they opened 4 him ,Jasiah got the crowd hyped up & Jxdn & his backup band knew how 2 make his fans enjoy his rocking headlining set.it was sweet tht he brought a little girl on stage 2 sing with him.I ❤️ him whn he was shirtless on stage❣️❣️❣️❣️😘💋
Girl in Red was super high energy the whole time. I personally like it when artists talk to the audience between songs, and Girl in Red did that. She crowd surfed through the crowd all the way to the back bar then ran back up on stage to finish the last song. She was really great and I can't wait to see her again.
I've seen K. Flay multiple times over the years and every time I see her she brings the energy. It doesn't matter if the venue can hold 150 or 1,000 people, she is so high energy and a great performer. If you like her and you get a chance to see her, get a ticket. Her passion and energy is unmatched.
Only docking 1 star because of enviroment and stage hiccups that happened which I think affected the artists performances 🥺
From MVSE to Awakened to JVNA this essemble of talent brought the fun to a Sunday night at The Regency Ballroom. This was my first time at the venue and first time attending a concert with Meet & Greet tickets. I enjoyed the experience and I will definitely attend a concert here again! Great job to the artists and crew for allowing everyone to have fun in the city on a February night to end the weekend 🤓
Venue security was really nice and thorough during their check which makes me feel secure and safe. The venue was good looking.
The opener Jess Kent was pretty cool.
Years and Years killed it, so much energy and body expression. Really happy I finally got to see them perform, it was really fun!
I would definitely recommend catching a show at this venue and recommend seeing Years and Years live.
