Great venue, first time in the venue. Get there early as it can fill up very quickly after doors opening to get a good view.
They Might Be Giants, were amazing I have been desperate to see them, and they were everything I hoped for. They performed the classics and some new stuff mixed in, the John's were even occasionally talking to the crowd and telling stories while setting up for the next song.
I will be eagerly awaiting for They Might Be Giants next shows in the UK, and I will be keeping an eye on future shows at Rock City.
Both Dead Pony and The Warning truly rocked!
Even though Pau was poorly and Dany nearly snapped her own neck they put on an amazing show! If you like catchy rock songs by incredible performers The Warning are the band for you. In fact they are the band for everyone and anyone!
Absolutely fantastic gig yet again by Kris Barras and band, seen several times and never dissapoint. Latest album number 5 in UK album chart and Number 1 in the Rock chart. If you haven't listened to these guys yet then give them a listen. 2 support bands were good also, south of Salem and Nocturnal Affair.
Absolutely banging! Two storming sets. So impressed with their drummer and bass player driving all the songs along. Pacy, racy and exhilarating. Ian McCullogh was in great, personable form and the welcoming crowd at Rock City made for a fantastic reception and warm rapport from the band.
I've been going to Billy Bragg gigs since 1984. This was one of the best. It's kind of what you'd expect when your favourite singer songwriter tips up at your favourite venue and a Saturday night.
He never disappoints, and issues thought provoking messages throughout.
The music is fantastic. From first song to last, and that encore! He makes you laugh, he makes you think, he makes you cry!
Keep going Uncle Bill. We love you!
Amazing show! Sad to miss when they supported bullet but I was not missing out on this one. Very deaf and hoarse the day after. Signs of a great gig. I can't believe they pulled up a fan to sing along and Brandon got into the crowd! His wife is right we bloody love you man
Really enjoyed Paul dianno. I was surprised how good he was. However he needs to stick to entertaining the crowd and less about moaning about his lot. The venue is great. It's a world renowned rock venue. It's a pity a lot more bands don't use it. Instead of playing one gig in London. Maybe give the rest of the country a try. Nottingham is a great place
Brilliant show! The band were amazing, the atmosphere electric, the audience were loud and excitable and the whole place just rocked!!
Shout out too to Good Kids and Loupe who were also genuinely excellent in support!
Only downside was the post gig queue for Merch and how confusingly that was organised.. it was horrific!
It was an amazing show! I would definitely like to go see W.A.S.P. again... I just wish I saw the band in their prime. Blackie was not sat down when I saw him back in March and I heavily appreciate his dedication to put on the show he did-even though he was in pain.
On a lighter note, I would recommend anyone who hasn't heard of W.A.S.P. to give a few songs a try and even just go to a gig just out of curiosity if given the opportunity.
Long live heavy metal 🤘
Brilliant Black Star Riders were awesome and I always rated Ricky Warwick, plus they did a couple of Thin Lizzy tracks. Michael Monroe was ok I liked the bit where he got into the crowd near the end. Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons were the band for me cos Phil Campbell is my hero having been in my favourite band Motörhead and doing two of their songs as well. An absolute excellent night
The way there guys are performing new ways of their old songs is a joy to behold. And their last three records and masters ! The passion and love that went into this set was so immense I literally don’t have any more words . They didn’t need a big production is all about the stories and the fan base that follow . 5 star show , and the support bands jaws the shark and khazali were top notch too
These guys were amazing! Wished they were given more stage time. Great songs, fantastic guitar playing, and Angelo is such a great frontman with a powerful voice. The energy was powerful! Love these guys. They give back so much to their fans. See them before they start filling arenas.
Simply one of the finest thrash metal bands in the world, doing what they do best. It's a first for me watching Anthrax live tonight (why it's taken me 40 years to do it, I'll never know) and a first gig ever for my son, who's just 15. Anthrax smash it for at least two generations tonight.
It's pounding, intense and relentless. Even from the back of the room, frenzied mosh pit in close proximity in front, the sound batters you. Most of the Anthrax standards are there and it's an absolute joy for me to scream out 'I Am The Law' and 'Efilniklufesin' as the years roll away again.
I'm a teenager again, loving Anthrax. I look at my son, ecstatic and grinning. He knows how I feel.
Missed all but last 3 songs as support didn't play and we entered about 8:45. Whole show was over by 9 ish.
Travelled all the way up from herts, too.
No notices at entrance , no mention at all at 7 when we arrived so we went for a beer.....
What an exhilarating performance from all the musicians. I have been to hundreds of shows with a variety of bands / artist over the years ( my first in 1967) This was up there with the very best of them. So obvious that George and Parliament Funkadelic love what they do but it was also professional, tight and had real heart.
Fantastic performance from every single band member individually that collectively made for a memorable show.
A Gr8 and very lively performance by Ferocious Dog.
Rock City, Nottingham is a good venue and the band’s spiritual home. It’s clear they value their fan base and in turn their fans are very loyal and supportive. The new current album Hope is excellent, some of the lyrical subtleties and production is lost in the live performance, but this is more than made up for in the sheer raw energy and atmosphere of their live show. The Hell Hound fans mosh pit is a sight to be seen. Fab gig 👍
First time seeing the band as missed out on tickets from their tour last year. Been completely in love with this band since I first heard them. And live they are phenomenal... was so great I bought tickets to their Birmingham show too! Been bought up with my dad playing the banjo and I played the cello ... this music just makes me happy 😁
When I saw Adelitas Way announce they were doing a UK tour, I didn't care how, but I had to be there. Given the circumstances, Nottingham suited me best. Honestly one of the best decisions I've made. It was a long day having travelled from Belfast to Nottingham, but honestly worth all the time, effort and money. The rest of the bill was simply an added bonus compared to how good this band are. 10 years I had waited for this and was an unforgettable experience. A headline tour next would be amazing. A cracking bunch of guys too, was a pleasure to meet and hang with them for a while!
Second experience of the Brothers based out of Nashville.. Really strong show, delivered on all levels until the final 15 minutes given over to covers, obscure tracks, requests and a duet ballad which for me meant the show’s overall quality just faded at the end.. However I am being picky, the highlights were stellar, and they still smashed Ain’t My Fault even though it has become a wee bit of a mill stone for them, interestingly figured mid set.. Great musicianship from the band who deserved more introductions and credit than they got.. However TJ and John are now the real deal, need the third album to round the set off..
