Yam Yam was absolutely fantastic. This show was a definite heater with a lot of improv and guest spots. Lots of minor playing thru the show with relatively minimal straight up pigeons action. Sail On and Something For Ya were classic readings. Overtime was super hot, and Sunny Day was absolutely nuts. Can't wait to listen to it again! Thanks to Town Ballroom for hosting.
Great venue and fantastic performance by the band. Silversun Pickups are in my top 3 bands and they put on a spectacular show. I'd happily see other bands at the Town Ballroom too. I drove in from a Toronto suburb for this and it took less than 80 minutes each way.
One of THE best nights of my life! I’ve listened to them for the past 19ish-20 years and being from the states, I haven’t ever been able to see see them live. The Buffalo show was the first time, and what a dream come true as a birthday present (09/29) to myself. My 16 year old has grown up listening to them because of me and loves them just as much and he also was so excited. Thank you for returning to the states and giving us this experience! We hope to see you back at the Town Ballroom soon! Because you guys are phenomenal and live, there just are no words. Bold enough to say this was my favorite concert of all the concerts I’ve attended, and I’ve seen some amazing shows! Billy Talent just hit different! 🫶
The Town Ballroom is an awesome venue if you are sick of the large stadiums and tonnes of people. There are lots of options depending on what kind of show you are looking for, whether it is on the floor in the pit, or standing at bar tables up top - great views throughout!
Billy Talent rocked the show from the first second they came on stage...no hellos, just straight into a heavy hitting banger. They did not let up the entire show and went back to back and brought energy to every song, lyric, word, sound...amazing show!
Have seen Big Wreck many times before and they just seem to get better every time. Chris is a perfect fit for the band and boy can he play. I mean I don't know what else to say other than if you have seen them you know what I am talking about. If not they are a must see band. One of the best shows ever
Really, really great show, hard to say what amazed me more the ferocity and complexity of his spot on figerstyle guitar playing or the unchanged excellence and quality of his vocals.
I mean jimeny Cricket, his voice sounded as good, if not better than on studio recordings I've heard. His ability to still be able to deliver songs with that much raw emotion and power is to me nothing less than astounding.
It was quite a memorable evening, I thank you Mr. Thompson.
I am now pregnant. I need answers from Gator and Ben and Jeremy and the other guy about who is paying child support
I went for both nights and everything exceeded expectation. King Kong was an absolute rager, but there wasn't a lowlight on Friday night. Condenser was a needed cool down and Wireless was maybe a little too much to ask for. Su Casa was perfectly placed.
There was a weird prank(??) at the end where they said a TE from the Bills was gonna come out and jam... But then they said April Fool's and played a super weird encore mashup of the MNF theme and Final Countdown.
In conclusion, I think Pigeons should be next year's halftime show at the Super Bowl. Fight me!
Jerry Cantrell and his band put on a badass show, as always. I was at the show in Riverside in February and the audience energy was very absent. The energy and incredible appreciation from the audience at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo was outrageous, and you could feel Jerry's performance feeding off of it. I wish every audience he played for showed their love for him as much as Buffalo did. He has paid his dues with his blood, sweat, and tears, and he deserves to be shown the greatest love and respect for it.
All that being said, Jerry, with Greg Puciato at his side, along with Tylor Bates, Gil Sharone, and others, was phenomenal! Thank you, Jerry, and I hope to see you back out with Sean, William, and Mike Inez soon after the Brighten tour wraps up.
Absolutely f*cking incredible. Matt's and Eric's vocals are even more powerful in person, and Isaac is a BEAST on the kit. Nolan wasn't playing guitar at the show because he had an injury, but the fill-in guitarist was awesome (wish I knew his name because he crushed it). 100% would recommend seeing them if you get the chance
Amazing band. Wrong venue. Wrong audience. Something was not right. Maybe a problem with the opening act? Anyway, I will always support GY!BE. So many people talking thru the show, clapping during momentary silences in a song, and even smoking joints (no prob for me, but still, wtf?). The end number, Mladic, blew us all away tho. Thank you, GY!BE. See you again at another venue.
O M G...my maiden WOTE voyage! A good friend RAVES endlessly re WOTE....so......I figured I better "join the human race" n check 'em out for myself! TOTALLY worth the 4-hour R/T! I'm comPLETEly hooked!
I'm 'specially impressed w/ the continual instrument switching, the effort dedicated to mesmerizing stage show and to WOTE'S connection to us adoring fans. Thank you for doing whatchu do, WOTE!
Really made the crowd feel like we were all one big family. Aside from the obnoxious drunk girl who kept hassling me all show, it was an awesome first show and I got to meet JT after the show and share with him how I had written a memorial piece for Casey in high school and he was grateful. Such a wonderful time and my first time seeing Hawthorne Heights.
PHENOMENAL! All three bands were unbelievable! Venue was wonderful! Sound was perfect. Staff at establishment was A-One! Will be going back! For sure! Will also be seeing another Cody show, as well as Whitey Morgan & The 78’s! Opening chick was good too! We’ll see more of her I’m sure! Anne Miller & Matt Fletcher.
They sounded just like the record. Opened with a little Traveling Riverside Blues. Both guitars playing Danelectros, so you have to play like Led Zeppelin. Played many more songs than on the posted set list. And 3 encore songs. Neil needed to rest his voice after that. Last song in the regular set featured the violin.
Literally one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Chris and niel have such a stage presence and niel sounds just as good live as he does on his records. Peter's bass sound and back up vocals were kind of subtle and mysterious. And Mikeys harmonica was definitely a highlight. Being in the front row of a peach pit concert is literally one of the best experiences ever. I have now touched hands with 3/4 peach pit members (I'm coming for you mikey) and at the end of the show, Peter handed me their set list. It's now framed in my room. 10/10 show, can't wait to see them again.
The Maine once again delights! I love them so much for coming to Buffalo consistently and they always put on such an awesome show. They bring the whole room together with both their music and with laughter because John is such a wild card. 😂 His banter with the crowd and inviting Abby onstage were hilarious and so fun. Enjoyed every single minute. 💗
meh - wasn't the Marcus King I've seen in the past (Peach Fest). Certainly plenty of energy, but the sound wasn't ideal and too much focus was on the guitar riffing and overblown solos (from the other guitarist). A little disappointing. I wish I chose to attend the March 9th ABB (now Devon Allman) show instead.
Hannah Wicklund was great.
Second time I saw them...there will be many more! Incredible show! Musicians are outstanding, and set the stage musically on fire. Lead singer is outrageously outrageous with personality to spare! They never run out of energy, and are great at keeping the crowd a hundred percent engaged. Great party. Great band. Great people. If you can’t tell, I love the Pigeons!!
I always love The Maine so much. They put so much thought and effort into their live shows (into everything they do, actually) and I love & appreciate it. The music was amazing, as always, and the visuals were interesting. Everyone was having fun, onstage & off. I really enjoyed John's foray into the crowd because his little stage was right behind us & (Un)Lost is one of my top favorite Maine songs.
Nine Layers Deep was the first band. Local, grungy, but were decent. They jammed away for 4-5 songs. The female singer had a good raspy voice, just needs some clever lyrics to go with it.
Big Business was mostly a bore minus watching the crazy drummer. Two piece band, singer looked like Bob Ross and wasn’t much more inspiring. Drummer slammed the skins though.
Clutch was awesome, Neil Fallon is a great frontman with awesome energy the whole way through. I have never seen a band that plays different set lists every single night that pulls from 60 different songs. That’s a gelled group. It doesn’t matter what they play each night, it’s going to be fun. Spacegrass is an awesome live song that carries a ton of weight.
5 stars for Clutch, 3 1/2 for the whole show.
