O2 Apollo Manchester

Having seen Sammy Hagar & his talented group of musicians in Chickenfoot at the Acadeny in 2012 I knew ai was going to have a fun evening. Getting tickets online was fast & easy. Also, live the venue. The band was brilliant, going through Sammy Hagar's solo career, Montrose era songs & Van Halen era stint was a real highlight of the night for me. Had an excellent time with some fantastic memories plus the crowd made the night more magical, especially when Joe Satriani just made playing Van Halen's guitar parts seem easy - the band were having the time of their lives & I sure did as well.

Quite like the Apollo as a venue, it's not bad if it isn't completely rammed. Although got in early & near the front for this one, even if you don't, the sloped flooring from the theatre seating makes it quite a good one for having a chance of a decent view even further back. Jon Pardi has never let me down in 3-4 times that I've seen him, great entertainer getting better each time, great supports, great music, great sound, overall a great time & would recommend to people to consider events at the venue & definitely any Jon Pardi appearances!

I love the Apollo in Manchester, I've been going there 50+ years, and I have seen many legends there over the years! Saturday was no different, with Gary Numan, Supported ably by daughter Raven Numan. The O2 Academy app is a nightmare to navigate! I have accounts with several ticketing companies, it makes life more difficult than it need be. However, to the gig in question, despite having lost his brother after the Leeds show, Gary insisted the show must go on. And what a show! Raven Numan his daughter, kicked things off as support, showing a promising career awaits, I was unfamiliar with her material, but was impressed. 9 o'clock, and Telekon 45 was under way. A superb set with great sound and lighting, the whole of Telekon was played, along with a surprising number of other earlier songs. There was a great moment between songs where the crowd cheered the hero with resounding chorus of Numan, Numan, and Gary broke, it took him a bit, deeply emotional. I've never benn to a bad Numan gig, and this was as good as any performance I've witnessed. Highlights for me were I Dream Of Wires, and the evergreen Down In The Park. A magical night to add to the many down the years!

So good! They're so fun, you don't feel like theyre performing - its like theyre just there to have fun, getting everyone up and dancing and singing, interacting with the crowd by taking requests, wishing people happy birthday! They're just 5 ordinary blokes who happen to make amazing music and have flown over the pond so we can all sing along together! Such a great night, really!

The best night. As per Gary was on fire. The whole set list was iconic & of course Gary was looking gorgeous as ever. Backing singers Jenna & Sophie were so good & beautiful. Brass band were having their own little party up on stage. Both nights were brilliant. Especially because I got to touch Gary’s hand & come home with his water bottle. Serious post gig blues now!

I b****y love the Manics so this is not an objective review by any means, but they were brilliant last night. The set was a really good mix of songs from their enormous back catalogue with big hits interspersed with some of their less well known ones. James said he had a virus and apologised for not being able to hit the high notes, but that man has an incredible voice, virus or not. I’m so glad they’re still producing good new music and touring!

Best concert I’ve seen in a long time. So much growth in the music by the lathums. Crowd was bouncing so so good. Security at venue awful !!! Fight in second song, took over 5 mins for security to step in. Never witnessed such a scary scene and was astonished how long it took to get help. Lathums again were brilliant and attempted to bring calm and love.

Now that was a proper rock concert. The audience was lively and the support band, Shane Smith & The Saints ramped up another couple of notches with a fabulous set - will be seeking out their albums. Then came the main act and Kaleo were amazing, as they always are. A band of few words, which was good as we got more music. It was loud, rocking and the crowd lapped it up, only disappointment was that it was over so quickly and there was only one encore. Looking forward to their next tour already.

Incredible as always. Did miss the bongos and backing singers for the more soulful songs. Jjs voice and thors musical & harmonica skills bring any stage to life though. They are truly stunning live and I’m already looking forward to seeing them again next this they’re in Europe. Meet and greet was very disappointing. 2 hours waiting in a freezing corridor with security and o2 staff constantly barging past without so much as a thank you smile. No water or drinks available at all - despite asking for a glass of tap water I was told “no, the bar isn’t open yet”. Bar didn’t open until 7.30 even though we had to arrive at 5pm. Couldn’t leave the venue to get food & drinks then return even though doors hadn’t even opened yet by the time the 2 minute meet and greet & 1 acoustic song had finished. JJ was lovely and friendly although he did look exhausted from the insane amount of shows and travelling. Overall I’m glad I did the M&G because I love KALEO and hearing automobile like that was epic but I’d definitely hesitate before booking another VIP experience at an o2 venue as the experience was anything but VIP.

Best concert I’ve been to by a mile! Ross Lynch what a man, the band had the best stage presence and best songs. Even the support acts were amazing The venue wasn’t too big so it had a good atmosphere and everyone was not far from the stage in general admission standing. If you haven’t already been to a driver era show you have to go!!!!

Crackin show, as always... Darius referenced seeing a father n son, with the father in an original classic Hootie t-shirt. I think that was me n my son. I had on my Kootchypop shirt, from seeing him at the Royal Court, Liverpool & the Wetlands, NY... if this email can be passed on, please thank him for signing my Hootie baseball jersey, when he was back in the Manchester with Hootie a few years ago... Shinedown are the best live band ever. I've seen them solid for the past decade and every time I do it just gets better and better. The dedication to music that this band has shown to the fans and the craft is second to none. "Put your hands in the air if you hear me out there, I've been looking for you day and night."

The gig was always going to be special because the tunes where fantastic back when they where made and they are still magical now I think Andy mccluskey is an inspirational person who just didn't stop bouncing around the stage like a teenager the only negative was the venue crammed and because of that it was getting hotter and people were fainting when they could of opened the exit doors

This concert was my third time seeing 5sos live, and they didn't disappoint. It was the best show I've been to in my life. The venue was great and we were the second tier, but the view was amazing. The support act, lovelytheband, were amazing and a good start to an amazing show. 5sos are so talented, their live vocals are outstanding, and they are so good at interacting with the audience.

It was literally the beSt!! I got limelight and vip, also the after party vip! So a little storytime, during limelight and vip- Zachy remeMbered mE from the boys of summEr tour from the year of 2016 and corbyn, jonah remembered me from Magcon! I literally criEd when i met them, so then when dani saw me tearing up, he passed me a tissue.... i got them gifts Wdw: i got all of them a journal on how they changed me life Jonah: starbucks card, a coffee stuffie Corbyn: a nasa shirt, moon necklace Dani: Giraffe, sour patch Jack: stuffie of noodles, bracelets Zach: panda ( chubs ;) ), necklace ( a heart ) and i picture of when we met and lastly a journal of how he changed my life

The Concert was the best night of my life.Within Temptation were totally amazing and Sharon was totally mesmerising her vocals I cannot give her enough praise for to say what hell she’s been through in her personal life she was totally awesome I can’t praise her enough,every song came from her heart and soul I saw them a few times ago and her voice was beautifully powerful better than ever the show wasn’t packed with amazing stage props or effects the only effect was an L C D screen at the Back they showed various video clips most from the promo videos and a few more clips relevant to the songs.2 songs made me cry and at the end I broke down with emotion as the song Stairway To The Skies was performed with Sharon wearing a short beautiful white dress with a long white veil draped to the floor and as she was lifted up in a harness she never faltered in voice abs the White veil draped beautifully and it was so romantic to sum things up I can’t give enough marks as it would be so unfair. Go and see them I’m begging you

I would suggest wearing high comfortable shoes that you could stand in for 2+ hours though. I'm 5'5 and was close to the front but I still struggled to see. Also I don't know whether or not other people had this problem but I struggled to understand what they were saying because the sound quality wasn't the best. Altogether though the show was amazing and energetic so I would recommend.
