Chautauqua Auditorium

The fabulous Mr. Stuart & Co. tore it up, no surprise, and were a treat to watch. Acoustics at the Chautauqua auditorium were dismal, however, and volume was cranked up too loud, which diminished the experience.

Marty and his band were (and are) fantastic. Chautauqua at the end of July wasn’t fantastic. The sound was great. The backup band was great. Besides having no A/C, for whatever reason the people running the venue decided not to operate a fan or open the sides. It was stifling in there and everyone I spoke to about the show shared the same sentiment. Great band. Great sound. Hugely uncomfortable. Tell Marty’s promoters if they choose that place again, pick, March, April, early May, October or November.

Another fabulous performance from Marty and the Superlatives. Undoubtedly the best musicians in country music today! If you haven't been to a Marty Stuart concert, put it on your Priority List.

This was my 6th Bruce Cockburn Show and I am never disappointed. I always leave the show feeling like I have had a spiritual event happen. I was especially pleased to hear him sing songs that I had not heard him do live before. Tie Me at the Crossroads and Us All to mention a couple. Fabulous Theater, and a wonderful staff also scored points with me. Great job done by all.

This was my second show at the Chautauqua amphitheater. What a wonderful venue so full of rich musical history! Expectations were high-the experience far surpassed them! Stratospheric levels of musicianship were on display! I have seen Béla Fleck once, maybe twice? Never seen Edmar or Antonio Sanchez. Sanchez stole the show for me! I’ve seen a lot of drummers in my day but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone play as many notes as him with every single moment being so tasteful! Edmar is quite a performer, but I was also struck by his words of wisdom and story of perseverance. Would recommend this show to anyone who appreciates musicality/virtuosity!

Outstanding performance. Excellent side men for Al DiMeola's band. Great to hear the early pieces of music he released on the first few albums...and new music as well.

An outstanding performance by fantastic musicians! The nuances and complexity of Al’s early electric compositions were performed flawlessly in their entirety!

Great rustic barn-like venue with tricky acoustics for electrified music. Al Di Meola did not disappoint with a mix of 40+ year old classics and newly composed charts. Coming off of a summer-fall tour in Europe, this was the first gig for a new group of musicians working the "Electric Band Tour". Given the circumstances the 2 hour set was well executed albeit perhaps not as tight as one might see once the 5 piece unit has a chance to work out the arrangement kinks and timing. Highlight was a 10 minute post-intermission solo, a wonderfully complex acoustic chart with nuances of Beatles cuts mixed in, played by Al seated at center stage. Most certainly one of the greatest talents on the six-string and flat pick over the last half-century.

The staff were all volunteers , as well as thoughtful and considerate. The venue is surrounded by some incredible views so come a little earlier before a show. As for Mr Adams just go see him wherever you can. It was all around wonderful.

Fantastic evening spent with one of the greatest singer songwriters of his generation, in a cool venue with a loving, appreciative audience . Ryan performs not only his own gorgeous songs from a multi-genre, profoundly deep catalogue, accompanied by expert guitar, piano & harmonica playing, but his personal takes on a wide array of covers (Dead Can Dance, The Doors, Smokey Robinson, his list of influences goes on), dazzle with new meaning. On top of this, his hilariously self deprecating, spontaneous sense of humor & gift of standup storytelling is a unique trip. If you’ve never seen Ryan Adams live, just go, the man is a wildly inspired & inspiring genius.

Drew and the Neighbors never disappoint! They always put on a stellar show. Jonah was a pleasant surprise also! Loved his soulful voice.

The absolute pinnacle of technical mastery, group improvisation, and magical weaving of global sonic textures by the absolute masters of their instruments forming a single musical consciousness. Chatauqua is a spectacular venue and sonically flawless.

Tig is fantastic and funny as f*ck. Her spin on her kids and spouse are hysterical. She engaged in audience banter and that was _so_ entertaining! Her piano playing is truly commendable 🤣🤣

2 hours and 10 minute set at 83 years old. He was dancing and jumping around the stage at the end too. Wow.

I love Ozomatli, so good to see and hear you perform. I wish you could've performed longer.

Chautauqua can be so charming. Tonight it was. It was a beautiful late summer evening with the gardens in full bloom and the stars bright overhead. I saw Bela and the Telluride House Band perform My Bluegrass Heart several months ago at the Paramount in Denver. This time, though I was in the front row in that fine Chautauqua venue with its superior acoustics. I had a ball. Sierra Hull was the first artist to come out and she was quickly joined by the rest of the band, with Bela Fleck the final one to walk on stage. Their sound was clear and precise. They performed several numbers from the MGH album with a few traditional bluegrass songs sprinkled in. I had never seen the guitar and fiddle player and they both played their parts expertly and with passion. The audience was attentive and appropriately enthusiastic. Like I said, I had a ball.

Fantastic show! Highlights were Tether, Lyris’ solo, Love’s Recovery, Emily’s solo of Train Inside and Amy’s solo playing Chuck Will’s Widow.

Even though I paid $48 for a GA ticket, I couldn’t sit anywhere in the middle of the room (only allowed in far outside sections), and there was this whirring sound the whole time (either from a cricket or creaky machinery). José did a great job, playing for about an hour and 15 minutes, but I didn’t care for the venue.

Chautauqua is such a great venue. The band was great. They looked like they really enjoy playing with each other.
