It was a great show. War on Drugs played for just over an hour and then the National came on for about the same. I missed Lucius, but my neighbours said they were great. Rogers is a great place for this. I don't understand the standing up/not standing up etiquette. In one section beside us, no one was standing, and in our section, everyone was. Hard to know what section to be in if you want to sit for some time. Also, I'm unclear why some folks were recording entire songs on their phone. Feels like you would get a better version all around by watching a music video or just listening to the music.
The concert was WAYYYY!!!! beyond my wildest expectations and dreams that I didn’t even know I had. I was so overwhelmed by the incredible perfection… words cannot describe, in fact I felt like I was literally RIGHT on the inside of GOD. I got such an impression that video recording it will never capture even remotely the quality of the immersive experience, and I felt all these videos I’ve seen of Manson truly have never prepared me at all for this !! 😭😭🫠🤩 This was the best. My seats were so close to the front and I just couldn’t believe the amazing performance! And every single band member was so beautiful with the lights shining on them and the wind blowing in their hair, with such love in their faces.
The concert itself was excellent!! The less-than-perfect rating is due to the very misleading “VIP Meet & Greet”. Be transparent. Call it what it is: a socially-distanced photo with a huge road equipment case between us. Could basically see their heads and that’s it. Had I known this very important detail beforehand, I wouldn’t have spent my hard-earned money on this treat to myself. When I did the meet & greet 5 years ago at his unplugged show at The Vogue, I came away with my favourite photo of my favourite moment in life: me in between Billy Idol and Steve Stevens, all with our arms simply behind each others backs.
I understand that health-wise the artists have every right to take photos the way they want to, but LET US KNOW THAT VERY CLEARLY BEFORE we hit “purchase”.
I’d see BFI again, but I’ll hang onto my photo from 2019 and never spend on another “meet & greet” because that’s not at all an accurate description.
(Also hypocritical that security shouted for us to cram together in the VIP line “nose to ear” and then said because of the uptick of COVID the photo is socially-distanced.)
Definitely knew how to interact with the audience and make individuals feel like they were more than a ticket purchase. The last time they played Vancouver was 11 years ago and my mom finally got to see them for the first time, I’m so happy I was able to go for my first time in honour of my mom as the show happened to fall on the first anniversary of her passing and it was such a memorable concert and I will definitely see them again
Absolutely amazing show. I was worried because of the rumours about Ms Lauryn being late, and maybe not fully being present or what have you.. the beginning was a little rocky - maybe an issue with the sound? But once it got started, Ms Hill had amazing energy and have an absolutely amazing concert. Goosebumps! And then when I thought the concert was over, Wyclef came out and PUMPED the crowd UP and they did what felt like a whole second concert with Fugees hits, some Wyclef hits and some Lauryn hits. LOVED. Was blown away.
Incredible show! The band was tight and on point. Maynard’s voice is so powerful. Danny is a monster on drums. Adam and Justin rocked the front of stage, keeping energy high. The whole band is a powerhouse of sound. Such collective talent. The visuals were mesmerizing. The confetti was a pretty touch. What a haunting set of songs. Absolutely magical. This band is one of the greatest live acts I have ever seen. My 3rd time and they just keep getting better! 7th row, centre. It was like a dream. Wish they could have played for another 2 hours. Can’t wait to see them again. If you have never seen these guys live, DO IT!!!! ❤️✌🏼🇨🇦
I really felt that Peter was doing his bare minimum. It's like a comedian who has other people tells the bulk of the joke, but he delivers only the punchline.
Production value was solid. I liked that the crew were wearing a bright colour to make them stand out, rather than blend in. Though Penitentiary Orange should have been flagged as a no-go colour. Heheh. The merxh was exceedingly uninspired and bland. I was not motivated to buy any of it.
What I will say is that the other vocalists did a superb job and the rest of the band should be commended for a great performance. Peter was the only disappointment.
A7X rocked! They played a ton of classics and hit hard with some of their new songs like Nobody and Mattel. The only downside I could find was the end, no final words or goodbyes, just a creepy piano that played for more than 2 minutes after. I know that’s one of their new songs but it made the ending feel empty. Last time they came they ended with ‘critical acclaim’ which was way different from this. Besides that the concert experience on a whole was a blast!
Lots of energy from Michelle. She and the band seemed genuinely happy to be playing and they said this was their first arena show ever. Sound wasn't great but her vocals came through pretty well and she hit every note. Set list could have been a bit better, I feel it dragged in the middle and it missed a couple songs I really wanted to hear, but overall they did a great job. Would definitely love to see them in a smaller venue.
The video production was unreal, but ultimately distracting. I've seen two other Roger water shows, 2017 us + them and 2007 Dark side and the video production much better complimented the music in both of those shows.
Musical arrangement was also a little puzzling at times that I feel tried to be interesting but ultimately failed.
It seems like Roger tried to do some different things with the show to spice up the music he's been playing for the last 60 years, but as a fan I don't think it totally works.
Incredible production. Waters doesn't do concerts; he does state of the art, audio-visual productions.
A great choice of material that displayed his master songswriting on full - it still blows my mind that he and the band were in their 20s when they released Dark Side - so mature. His latter day songs, Deja Vu and Is This the Life We Really Want show that Waters has lost nothing in song or performance.
Waters always surrounds himself with the best musicians; Dave Kilminster is a guitar hero of the highest order!
Saw them in Detroit MI, Columbus, OH and Cleveland, OH. They are wonderful and such an amazing vibe an amazing fans . They make you want to follow them the whole tour , always bring something special to each show !!!! Can't wait to see them in October!!!! Especially olu 🥰😍😘😜 he can get it lmao 🤣 😉 jp just coming for the good music 🎶 doc's tit art is amazing btw you should try it but scrubbing tits after the show was too much for my ol ass 😂 👄👩🦳art is life🎨 bring extra markers for this cause lol tit oil ain't good for markers!
What a wonderful night with nothing but TODAY'S rock bands.
Hannah Wicklund is on the brink of her major breakthrough with her soulful singing, mind-blowing guitar playing and amazing bandmates.
The Pretty Reckless was the highlight for me, as soon as they stepped on the stage the world was theirs. Their style is much darker and heavier from that of the other bands and it was simply killer, they've got riffs for the ages and Taylor Momsen is one of the most amazing front-women there are in rock history.
Greta Van-Fleet rocked the house with their very 70's style amd with a very carefully selected setlist, with faster songs that got us going crazy to very deep and soulful songs later on that made it all very much enjoyable even for people that didn't know very well their music such as myself!
I’ve been in love with a James Taylor’s music for decades and have had happy many moments singing along with him. A lot of us waited a long time to see him on this tour having been cancelled twice. We weren’t disappointed if that could be an option anyway. He could just sit there and play his guitar and sing and I would be in heaven.
But of course he had a kick ass band; musicians that have been around the musical block. What a treat to have them play with James. And you could tell James loved it also as after he gave them a great introduction, he shook their hand or gave them a hug.
James still has a great voice and played many of his hits in front of a great stage setting, moving lights, Videos, beautiful pictures. He also is very funny. A wry dry sense of humour. Loved it.
Jackson Browne was a treat too. His voice still sounds the same and his band was amazing too. James came on stage and sang the last song of Jackson’s set. We were surprised and so pleased to see him!
I have to praise his backup singers. They were all very talented in their own right and some had sung with very famous singers (Aretha etc)
We had almost 2hours of James and Co. His encore turned into more than a few beautiful songs one of them being one of my favorites, “Close your Eyes”. The harmonies were very heart warming and beautiful.
It was a special evening and I truly hope this is not the last time we see him here again.
Show was amazing like always, i’ve been to 3 Billie concerts now and all I can say is I do miss the smaller shows because you feel more connected to the artist however with the bigger venue It created more room for lights and cool backdrops. The visuals in this show was amazing! Billie, Finneas and their drummer did sooo good and the opener for the show I went to (Duckwrth) was incredible!!! definitely going to one of his shows if he tours near me!
Best night of my life. The Strokes are my favourite band and every minute of the onstage joking and playing and everyone screaming the lyrics in the background was perfect. Everyone was having a good time. I was up the entire time. I was just recovering from a new dosage of my epilepsy meds (strobe lights don’t affect me) that made me super sad so this was the most perfect day to bring me out of that. I’d love to go again when the opportunity arises.
This event changed my life, I’ve went to her Dangerous Woman concert in march and it was also awesome but sweetener/thank u next tour was so much better the visual was so pretty and their so bright. The choreography was so synced and it was put together fabulously. The moon effect for good night n go was very pretty even though I was crying . Overall Ariana Grande is the best as always her vocal is very beautiful and I love it. Again the event was awesome
It was a fun, exciting, and loving show! So glad Corey toured across Canada. He made successful efforts to connect with the audience. Corey sang his hits like a young man and it brought back wonderful memories. He was energetic and thoughtful. He brought a woman up to the piano stage. She won a contest to meet him and because of a cancelled tour it didn't happen when she was a 14 year old. He gave her a warm hug when they met and and she sat while he sang her a song. The audience also sang along with him on a few songs. A wonderful evening! Thank you Corey!
