It was an EXCELLENT SHOW!! For the first (and hopefully not last time) I have seen IDKHow in concert form, it was unbelievable. Dallon Weekes is such an amazing singer, and he shows this by just singing his heart out each song, riling up the crowd, he said Salt Lake City and every cheered each time! My dad said he got emotional during the encore which is why it took so long so props to him for being awesome and doing the tour!! Same to the crew he brought with him, your names are escaping me, but I am happy to have seen you guys bring his music to greater life! The opening band ALEXSUCKS was also really cool! I walked by the titular Alex while he was on his smoke break, and I just knew the lead was chill. I love their style as well, so check them out too!! They were a little lesser on the crowd pleasing, but that's on purpose. They got to jump in on "Nobody Likes the Opening Band" near the end of the show. And trust me, we loved the opening band. All around, I'd love to see IDKHow live again because the music is good, the lead is good, and their choice in opening band is good!!
So I had bought meet and greet tickets for my husband who is a big fan of overtime for his birthday. I to be honest liked a couple of songs but didn't care to look more into him or his music. After last night though I gained so much respect and admiration for overtime he has now gained another fan and so did the rest of the performers. I'll be honest DurtE was definitely my favorite but I do like the others as well. It was a fantastic show and we even made a few new friends and hung out with them during the concert. We will definitely go again ❤️ If you all see this you guys are awesome!
Euphoric. If i had one word to describe my experience. I’ve been listening to the fray for a long time. When i found out they were coming to Utah, i bought tickets instantly. The stage presence of the band was immaculate. I couldn’t get close enough but the energy was incredible. When it came to them playing “how to save a life”, dry eyes weren’t in the cards for me. I had a friend when we were 12 pass away by her own doing (sensoring) and this song got me through my darker days and experiences surrounding her passing. It’s well written and will go down in history. This concert will be the #1 favorite concert that i have attended. I hope you come back to Utah, this time i will want to meet you!j
This was my first time attending a concert for The Strike and it was AMAZING! Their music is phenomenal and they are fantastic performers. It felt like they were genuinely and sincerely grateful for all the fans. They were very interactive with the audience and I had a blast singing along with everyone. I got to meet them after and they were so real and fun to talk to. I will definitely be looking for any opportunity to see them perform. I recommend anyone find a chance to see them, even if you aren't as familiar with the music. I only discovered them about 6 months ago and it was so fun.
KL was LIT! However, the opening bands were pretty lame imo. And the sound at The Complex was pretty rough. KL sounded GREAT, but the other bands sounded terrible. Weird reverb, a lot of static and “scratchiness” - The band Speed is very generic. Show Me The Body is just olainw awful, and Loathe had some decent songs, but the sound was a mess. Paid $100 for a really crappy little seating area that had people in our way and was so far to the right that we couldnt see Issac from KL hardly at all for most of the set. The Complex is not a good venue. Weird liquor laws in Utah as well. Notjing bad to say about KL though. They were 🔥🔥🔥
I’m so happy to see these guys back up and going after a hiatus of many years, been a fan for a long time as have my daughters. We paid for the VIP meet and greet, which had some security hiccups at first in getting going, but ended up being awesome. Got to record my daughter singing one of her favorite songs with Nick at the end of the meet and greet—SUPER COOL! And they gave it heck when it came show time—awesome ambiance on stage with the lighting and props, and great performance, was such a fun night!
These guys were AWESOME showmen, great entertainers! The light show was wicked, they maintained the energy going from song to song in good flow, and they played and performed very well. Lead singer was very engaging with the crowd, even went out in the middle of us singing and dancing and giving high fives. At one point they played the song “Killer Whales” and one of the roadies pitched a 6ft inflatable killer whale out into the crowd that got batted around for the entire song. My daughter got one of the drummer’s sticks at the end of their set to boot—would definitely go see again!
I don't believe this show was sold out, but it sure felt like it was. First of all, the doors opened half an hour late, leading to the show starting 15 minutes late. I don't remember the openers that well (a rap group and an indie rock musician), but people were being fucking rude during their sets, playing iPhone games for all to see and yelling "we want Yachty!" Also, people were spilling water everywhere (I almost slipped a few times) and pushing people. This seemed to die down with the last hour or so of the concert and I enjoyed Yachty's set. (side note: that man is tall)
We got the soundcheck VIP for valley, and it was well worth the money. When we met the band they were all super nice and down to earth. We mentioned that one of their songs was “our song” and later that night when they performed it, rob went out of his way (we were at the barricade but further towards the edge so he literally had to climb over a stage light) to wave and point at us during the song. they are one of if not the best band we’ve ever seen live, and we will be going to see them every time they come to town. Thank you valley for the most magical night ever
Absolutely perfect. They used to be one of my dad’s favorite bands back in the day (before I was born 25+ years ago) and they hold a lot of nostalgia for being my favorite late uncle’s favorite band. I took my dad to see them last night for his birthday, it was my first time seeing them and it was one of the best shows I’ve seen in awhile. Best show of theirs my dad has seen! It’s a shame this is the last tour, but I’m fortunate enough to be seeing them in Vegas next week. Skinny Puppy is mad impressive and their energy onstage is unmatched!
The band was a 5 star as always .. I have been to a few concerts at the complex and this one was far far the worst experience ever !! Merch line was long and painful but worst was when a grown ass man pushed me ( a woman ) and called me a word I won’t repeat because I had to get through to use the restroom …. Not enough people around to make me feel safe against him .. crowd was helpful but still ruined my experience and probably won’t be back to the complex !! Please BLUE … play at a better venu !!
Jelly Roll you were amazing.
I changed the way I delt with my pain!
I was always trying to find the solution to my pain and depression at the bottom of the bottle.
Jelly roll your music has had a major effect on my life. Thank you for always telling the story the rest of us don't have the strength to. Your music helps me just like it has helped so many before. And so many more people to come. Your music gives us strength and power! We are not alone in the struggle. We have each other.
Best concert I have ever been to.
It's so fun to see The Midnight performing as a full band. Sound and stage set up were great and it was a good crowd. Was a little weird how early the show finished, opening band at 7 and headliner over by 930pm. We were rather abruptly being shoved out of the venue and nearly escorted off the property by 945, hardly any time to check out merch and go to the bathroom before heading home. Feel like the staff at The Complex kind made that a bummer way to end the night, but the show was good.
Holy shit the concert was lit and one i'll never forget. There were so many twist and turns between all the performers (especially the legendary Sumo Cyco (Skye) , Awake at Last (Vincent) and Last, Icon for Hire ( Ariel) collab was jaw dropping . I was a VIP Icon for hire VIP Tour bus & Ariel and Shawn were so chill but it was over so quick. Penrose opened and rocked it but if they joined in it would have been epic. At the end of it i talked with Skye for a bit she was so nice and gave me insight on the bonds and developed you can achieve by traveling with different bands. There were some funny unrehearsed moments that made it unique. If they come back to SLC for a Dismantled tour or whatnot I definitely will come again.
Might help that the show was sold out and had around 2500 people there to cheer and sing along, but good god I haven’t been in a crowd that energetic in a LONG time, I can say this is yet another band that is on my list of “Do Not Skips”
Not to mention the openers! Flor has presence and know how to engage the crowd, and Hastings are just happy to be having shows, I haven’t heard a crowd get so hyped for the first opener… ever. 10/10 would recommend
i went to this concert last minute and didn’t really know what to expect. i had listened to the maine a little bit a bunch in high school, but i wasn’t necessarily a big fan. seeing them live changed that, and i am so glad that i went. they put on a terrific show and the crowd was soaking it up. so much energy, and you can tell that the band was coming straight from the heart. 10/10 will go again but next time i will know the songs better
Mind blown experience. Ryan absolutely did an amazing performance, one I’ll never forget. I’m so happy I left work early to go see him me and my sister and brother. It sucks we didn’t get the meet and greet but next time around, we definitely are. A life goal of ours is to meet Ryan and for him to know that we love him and his music very much. His music has helped me get through depression, anxiety, panic attacks, break up, you name it, Ryan’s music has always been there for me. This concert hit me on a personal
Level, one I can never write out in words. But this concert was absolutely beautiful 🦋❤️
It was so fun! I'm so happy he sang I Found a Way and Makes Me Happy! He's an amazing singer and seeing him play the guitar was incredible! It was just really sad that there were so few people. He seemed upset about how few people there were and I don't blame him at all. I'm happy he still did a great performance though. He also was really nice when people were telling him to play songs by other artists, which was really rude of them. It was an awesome concert though and I'm so happy I got to meet him, get his autograph, and get a picture with him! He was really nice when my brother and I were meeting him!
I was so excited to see Nothing But Thieves play at The Complex last! I’ve waited a long time to see the lads from my home town play and it was well worth the wait. Conor’s voice is as good live as it is on the records. Highlights from the show include the piano version of Particles, the band’s first performance of Lover, Please Stay in over a year, and the unyielding energy from the crowd. Thank you Conor, Don, Joe, Phil, and Price for your dedication to art and music and for playing a headline show in Salt Lake!
