Forget the storms around Texas, Ally descended upon Dallas at the venerable Granada with an EF5 set that showcased her hypnotic stage presence, improved big sound, and tight song arrangements. Her time on tour with blues icons was not wasted. As her album drop to #1 Billboard Blues Chart recognizes, she is the goddess of blues artists:
It was great to jump up, acknowledge who he is, and meet the singer outside of the venue as he was walking by- and w/o using any type of concern about the fact that "he's the singer of Decapitated" in order to be a dick, he just stopped and shook my hand. as a grateful man, performing for a grateful audience member like me, I'm having a hard time deciding which either moment in my life compares to what I experienced. with that show, sound, energy, and ability to shake hands as a fan, I guess I am gonna come back again, and again. \m/
I've been to many concerts over the last 25 years and have seen numerous extremely talented artist including Jason Mraz, Susan Tedeshi, Tina Turner, Lenny Kravitz and others. I can say with complete conviction that the energy, enthusiasm, audiencing engagement and pure joy with which Grace Potter perform last night at the Granada theater is unraveled by any show I have experienced in my lifetime. This woman truly is gifted and a treasure to behold live. May God bless you. Grace and keep doing what you do so well. I hope to see you again someday.
This is an amazing spectacle. Witness first class musicians in the prime of their talents. We were in awe as Caligula’s Horse enchanted us with an otherworldly spell of sound excellence. Their music transcends what should be possible for 4 mortals. It leaves one wondering if this might be the limit of human ability. Come see for yourself and be forever changed.
Another amazing performance by Eric Tessmer. His band was actually a drummer and bass player he’s played with in earlier years, and they were locked in TIGHT! The Granada Theater is one of my all time favorite venues, and as usual, Eric greets patrons after the show at the merchandise table.
It was a completely awesome experience my daughter got the “MEGA VIP” Meet and greet package and Zakk Wylde was so cool to her made us feel like family she got the guitar he played on stage that night and he even brought her up on stage at the end to close the show. Totally awesome class act. Completely made my daughter’s Christmas gift unforgettable. Thank you Zakk, Jo, & Goose!
Small venue made it that much cooler. He walked through the crowd, fist bumped my boyfriend and played up top in the VIP area for a bit then came down again where the crowd was on the main floor. The sound was insane at the granada, I thought the speakers would've exploded! It was epic! We enjoyed Native Howl as well they were an amazing sound and with a banjo their bluegrass/thrash metal rock music was so cool!
Amazing band and even more amazing people. They absolutely love their fan base and even came out front after the show to meet with fans! Their show was top notch (top 3 shows I’ve ever been to) can’t wait for them to come back to Dallas or be in the same city I’m in when I’m on the road! 10 out of 10 rock shows you have to see!!
Lacuna Coil was amazing for my first time seeing them live. One of there songs made me cry reminding me of someone I loved. And when they played Humane. I felt both sad and happy at the same time. But I love how the show was. I’ll definitely wanna see them again.
So great, but he always puts on a wonderful show. Nice to see him with a backing band for a change of pace from past tours - he played off the drummer and keyboardist especially well. He’s such a unique performer, prowling the stage like a wolf before lunging for his prey. Highly recommend catching him if you can!
My daughter and her best friend had so much fun at this concert. Made new friends in line waiting to get in. Thank you for these lovely memories. Thank you Bandsintown for allowing us to get tickets at the price they were meant to be. It meant we could have that extra money to get them a t-shirt and poster for them to have!
The band was great! It was our 2nd time to visit the Granada Theater and the last time we had to stand for 3 hours. We almost had to crawl to the car it hurt so bad. This time we managed to get seats in the balcony and oh what a difference. The show was a blast and we had a great time. Can't wait to go back again for another show!
Machine Head was the bomb. Hope to see them again next time they roll through Dallas. So amazing to see them play an incredibly long set with such energy and ferocity! Other bands should take a look at these guys and learn how to do a show! Truly impressive masters of metal!! The Granada is and always has been a favorite intimate venue of mine. I wish other music venues would take the concept of a "higher than normal raised stage" and "sectioned rows with rails and counters more seriously. At least this way you're not getting squished and trampled and always have a great view of the stage. Very enjoyable experience.
This was beyond great. I discovered victor in the early 2000s and as a young bass player, he has always been a huge influence to me. I was so glad almost 20 years later I finally got to see him in person! Not only that but it made my year that him, Steve Bailey, and Derico Watson hung out to meet and greet their fans and sign autographs. Amazing talent, some great laughs listening to Victor and Steve's banter on stage. Great crowd interaction. I really hope to see them again in the future.
Enjoyed the evening !! Dalton Domino opened the show. He was witty, and displayed his talent through a set of very personal music.
Lee Roy Parnell put on a great show. He was engaged with the audience and played a number of his hits, as well as some songs off of his latest album. Lee Roy is a “musician’s musician”, and played with all his might.
The Granada Theater is a very good venue. Seating was as good and the acoustics were great for Domino’s acoustic set as well as Lee Roy’s full band.
We were a party of five and none of us were disappointed.
Not sure what the motivation was. Could have been, thrilled to watch his kids perform a great show as the opening act. Could have been, being able to perform for his wife. Could have been, retaking ownership of his music again. It made for a memorable night for us fans to see a genuinely good human be able to practice his craft with his family and band mates, and to do it with humility, grace and humor made the evening pass to fast.
For his second Dallas performance in a year, Ruston Kelly was a master of his reflective and haunting lyrics and skill command of three instruments. In contrast to the often heavy subject matter of his songs, his stage presence radiates the joy that comes with finding the redemption he speaks about in his songs. It’s always truly a joy to hear his soulful voice with his talented band - with his father’s masterful steel guitar playing. Ruston is soaring with a flock that highlight the best in songwriting, emotion, and honesty in music.
Everything about this show was cool. What a under rated band. Their visuals were visceral and beautifully done, and so was their performance. Merch needs a mention, its well presented with prices on neon signs.Graphic tees are the best designed Ive seen( pima cotton!). I wish they would tour more often, this band is a hidden gem.
Beautiful as always. But the Dallas crowd SUCKED. Clearly KXT had given away a bunch of tix and it seemed like a third of the audience left within 20 minutes. Cat Power is a sonically dynamic band. So one song can start out quietly and get loud and harsh by the end. So listening carefully and attentively is rewarding. The Dallas crowd just jabbered through everything. At one point some glowing balloons were being tossed about. This always tells me the crowd is more into themselves than the band. Bravo to Chan daring them to pop the idiotic balloons. Anyhow she was transcendent and poetic. A muse if there ever was one. I am sure she would have preferred a half full house of fans than a full house of know nothings. I loved her performance and her voice has held up extremely well. Go see her when you can and shut up and listen. You might learn something.
