SO MUCH FUN! The performance exceeded my highest hopes. I’m a long-time fan, but this was my first time seeing them live. Their song selection and execution were perfect. The packed amphitheater full of diehard fans felt almost as intimate as a smaller scale event- rich with the spirit of exuberant solidarity and comradery that makes punk my favorite live music genre.

I told myself I wouldn't miss Matis if he came back this way, I held true to my word! Cydeways opened the show, they were ok, kind of bland to me, couldn't really distinguish 1 song from the other. Matis did what he does, little disappointed he played some alternate version of 1 day, and he didn't play step into the light.
It seemed like HIS light was dimished, I'm sure this 'war' is taking it's toll on him, but we must remain above.
Opening act only played for about half an hour, and then we waited for about a half hour, and then we listen to the headliners for a little over an hour which seemed very short. A lot of their songs were left out, and I felt a little like wanting more. however, the meet and greet was fantastic. Loved listening to them do their acoustic versions of a couple of my favorite songs. The food was excellent the drinks were very expensive and small. We stayed right across the street so that was convenient. I will definitely see you First Aid Kit again.
Noah, Jolly, Nicholas, and Nick are the sweetest guys. I met them for the first time at this show, but watched them interact with people and mention them by name, recalling them from previous contacts and shows. That's so rare these days. The fact that their music is amazing and their performance is energetic and interactive is just an incredible bonus!
First time to see RK and at Stubb's. I can say even though it was a hot August night, it was a great show and loved the special guests that showed up. Turns out the band was recording film and music for a live CD that will be coming up! Glad we made the trip and was part of history for RK.
Amazing show! The venue was so easy and comfortable. Better than most venues in Dallas. Ogi did really good for her set. Very good at crowd engagement. Her vocal runs and breath control is immaculate. Masego was the entertainer I’ve always imagined he’d be. Funny moments, dancing, singing, saxophone, and piano. He is everything which is why I traveled from Dallas to see the show here. I’ll do it again and make it an even longer trip.
Opener - Slow pulp : Fantastic great sound and energy even if they were zipping through the songs because Alvvays was running late, pushing the show back.
Alvvays: If you were at the barricade you could tell they were exhausted from their 12 hour hold up in Fort Stockton, but that didn’t take away any performance from their sound and energy. Great band, great show .
Had a great time at the show. Venue was great except the acoustics were not fantastic. Couldn't understand the lyrics. Mother Mother, Vunderbar and TransViolet all put on a good show and the music was great. I had never really heard of these bands (took daughter and her friend), but I do like guitar heavy hard rocking music.
Blue October was amazing as always. Great energy, vocals and connecting with the crowd like no other band. The only issue was the set up of the venue being so long and narrow. We were standing about midway from the stage to the back and I couldn't see Justin at all. We still had a great time listening to the music.
Blue October kills it, as usual. Sounded like they had a few technical difficulties, but the boys played through it with the professionalism you'd expect from these masters. So glad we got to see these guys again. I've been a fan since The Answers and have seen them several times, but my husband had never seen them as a band live (we went to the Open Book tour). This was our first time to this venue. If you're a drinker there are plenty of bars everywhere. There is a slope towards the stage at the entrance, but then it's flat the rest of the way. So, to get a good GA view, you have to be all the way up in the front, or be 6'. Otherwise you're watching the show through everyone's phones as they're recording, or in between giant's shoulders. The acoustics were great, so even if you can't see 100% of the band 100% of the time, you still get the great live event experience. Parking wasn't bad at all, although we did get there almost 2 hours before the doors opened.
I've followed Michael Franti since the days of the Disposable Heroes and it's been amazing to watch him mature and grow. The show last night was everything you could hope for. Instead of doing a fake off the stage and come back for an encore, he played until it was time to be done, then hung out and talked to people and took selfies before grabbing a guitar for a little acoustic set for the 50 or so people who were still around. Then, he hung out for awhile longer.
After the last couple years, this was exactly the show I needed.
Admittedly I was bummed that Anthrax cancelled. That's putting it lightly. Ive wanted to see them for ages. However, I completely understand that health is more important in some cases. Musicians are people too.
Hatbreed played Bonded by Blood by Exodus in tribute to them and that got me out of the funk I had when I got to the venue. The killed it. BLS annihilated the show. Entrance, sound, solo battle, most bad ass fist bump of all time. Will see them both again.
Pits were gnarly.
Look forward to hopefully seeing Anthrax in the future.
If you were to ask me what my favorite band is, without a doubt, it's Franz Ferdinand. This was my first time seeing them and I sure hope it's not my last! They put out an amazing performance that got the entire crowd dancing and grooving! Words can't describe how much fun I had, and I literally could not stop thinking about it after the show. THANK YOU FF!
The venue had enough shade from the sun and had (although very limited) good food. Simple Plan was great as expected and accomodated fans pretty well. They made sure a fan got taken care of after one fainted. Pierre went to another side of the venue to get closer to fans a little far from the stage. The whole event was pretty cool.
I was hesitant to go at first & i absolutely love denzel been a long fan. I was mostly hesitant because i never been to a concert, usually what i heard is most rappers aren’t great performers. Denzel will get you involved in the show, get you hyped as fuck, mellow and chill when needed. one of the best performers i could’ve picked for my first show. The openers were great too! All 3 of them got involved with the crowd, especially playthayboizay with his condense time on stage he made every minute worth it.
it was everything that imagined it would be plus more . all though the heat was unbearable they made sure everyone was okay and if they needed water if so then they would give it to them. Being at the Wallows concert truly let me see another side of myself that I haven’t seen in so long. The Wallows community was everything, the people around were so genuine and fun. Overall a 100/10 concert to go to.
Stick Figure & the Elovators were both excellent!!! Great show!
Stubbs on the other hand, was doing everyone dirty and something should be said about that!!!! It was a sold out show and almost 100 degrees outside, and Stubbs decided to charge everyone SIX DOLLARS for a can of Liquid Death water... no other way to get water.. It was ridiculous!
I saw people overheating and passing out left & right in the crowd... had Stubbs made the price of water a little more reasonable, I don't think people would've allowed themselves to get so overheated like that. Honestly, shame on them!!! Similar music venues in the area offer FREE water to the crowd, and have bottles of water on sale as well for reasonable prices.
although i’m keeping my videos to myself bc I was rapping and the crowd was too, i’ll share this image of Alchemist giving y’all the L.
I skipped action bronson at the end cause I just wanted to see Boldy James & Alch and Earl and wasn’t disappointed at all. crowd was great too and the artists have great moments of just interacting with the audience in between tracks or technical issues.
The first two hours of waiting inside the venue itself was absolute hell, everybody was piling onto each other and for some reason people thought that they could keep pushing in. I think that the amount of tickets sold could be maybe regulated more so that this doesn’t happen again. Someone fainted and I felt like I was about to pass out. After I found a better place was the only time I could enjoy myself and even then I couldn’t see.
