Horseshoe Tavern

I have been to about 7 or so of Alejandro's shows and they are always amazing. Great musicians accompanying him, and for this show James Matro on guitar and vocals really filled out the songs beautifully. Every time I have seen Alejandro it's been a very diffeeent experience, from the glam rock Buick MacKane show, to the show with cello and violin accompaniment. Each is special. This tour version was a more rocking one, and he had everyone hooked a few bars into the first song. More energy than bands 1/3 his age. He did mix it up after the first few heavier numbers and showcased the new versions of past favourites from his echo dancing LP. Very new and interesting takes that were highlights of the show for me. Interesting he chose Like A Hurricane for the closer, and was a great way to cap off the evening. Reminded me of another great show, from brothers from a doffeeent mother, Los Lobos, many years ago down at the Toronto waterfront. They closed with a great version of Cinnamon Girl. Hmmmm.... So cool to see father and son on the same stage singing together. Absolutely loved this show. So glad i got to hear them sing this album live. Got to hear my favourite song big lake and the story behind it along with some other amazing stories from their lives like Tom meeting Bruce Springsteen lol. Got to meet Tom and Russ after the show, two stand up guys. An experience I'll never forget!

Awesome music awesome band. Should have been international superstars! Unfortunately, I was too busy with 4 kids to give my full attention and any financial support going to bars, concert, purchasing music and swag. Somehow, I know all the words, riffs and solos to all their songs. Jesus Sings the Blues, as good as any song ever! Thank you for paying tribute to all the great bands and musicians that we loved in our youth. Your music will live on forever with me and those who ask me who is that cranked up on your car stereo!

It's hard to summarize a perfect and glorious night... The band was in top form, playing a wonderful mix of new and old favourites, in what was a performance of epic proportions. They played for about 2 hours and 20 minutes! It was absolutely glorious. I was fortunate to be near the front, up by the stage. Jimmy Gnecco is still as passionate and irreverent a performer as ever. He really left it all out on the stage. If I'm not mistaken, Ours as a band proper hasn't played Toronto since 2013 when they opened for Peter Murphy! The last time they headlined a show here was in 2011. I was fortunate to be at those shows as well, in addition to several others in previous years. This one was extra special, however. Jimmy chatted a lot throughout the night, sharing stories and showing the Toronto audience an outpouring of love. I think he felt as lucky as all of us adoring fans did. It was truly a magical night. The icing on an already glorious cake was having Daniel Victor (Neverending White Lights) join the band onstage for the last 35 or 40 minutes of the performance. It was a wonderful reunion between Jimmy and him. I stuck around and had a nice chat with Jimmy. Great to meet him again after so many years. He really gives his all to his fans. The whole band was just incredible and each and every member really poured their creative hearts out. So happy that Race is still a member, right from the beginning until now. Truly a night of sheer perfection. I can't wait for the release of the new album. So much love for Ours. 💙🖤💙

This was a great concert, the venue was as expected, kinda grungy but lots of fun. I felt lucky to see and hear Amanda in such a small venue and she gave a warm, loose yet professional performance. After listening to her digitally for so long, it was a thrill to see her live.

absolutely amazing show. only tamino can manage to sound even ether live than recorded i was literally mesmerized the entire show just staring him hum and down bc i couldn’t believe a human can sound that good (and look that good this guy is SO TALL i nearly fell to my knees). location was pretty shit won’t lie, tiny bar, entry was so unorganized, and other concert goers didnt know concert etiquette and were acting insane and so disrespectful to those around them besides that, tamino doesn’t miss. hope next time he pick a diff place to perform

Great Show overall. The Honest Hearts Collective convinced me from the first not on. Never seen those guys before but what a joy to watch. Dave Hause was great too but I did see him playing better shows before.

Was supposed to go to Japanese Breakfast with a friend and it was rescheduled so we went to this instead my friend was familiar with her music but I wasn’t and it was an amazing show hope to go again when she comes back also first time at Lee’s palace great venue

Met Tarek 😁 sound lad he is. Was walking through the horseshoe undetected. I spotted him and turns out he lived in Leeds next to my home town. Lovely lad. Love their music and his voice. Been a fan since I heard rolling with the punches. Cheers to random YouTube for that. Only album I’ve bought a physical copy of for donkeys. Blue stones are immense! ❤️

Man I'm so glad I got to experience Kingfish up close and personal. He and the band rocked the house for an hour and a half that I'm good to not listen to the album for another month. I can't wait to see him again.

Had the best time possible. KINGFISH tore the place up with his stunning, knock you on your ass lead guitar. His band was super solid. Loved the keyboards. But, back to KINGFISH! How many different rifts can he come up with? Seemed like he (at just 21 years old), is destined to be a major blues star. Hell, he is already great! Can't wait to hear him again! Hope it won't be too long. No doubt, I will track him and figure out where I can go see him again and I will definitely see him again.

Yola and Amythyst were amazing. I got there late and was tucked all the way in the back. The ladies deserved a bigger venue. The band was on point, the singing was crisp and the ladies told beautiful and touching stories that gave inspiration to some of their songs. I can't wait to see both of them again. I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away.

I don't know where to start. I was at the " last " show at the Danforth Music Hall the night before and thought that was the best, but the boys knocked it out of the park at the 'shoe. So much love and appreciation for their fans and people who helped them along the way. Never been so happy and sad at the same time.

Always so good! If you keep having shows here, I'll keep coming! I cried when you played Amen. Thanks for sharing that story.... And wanna share the story behind the Pilot and I Found videos? Awesome! You guys rock.

She is better than I imagined. I thought she was more on the book but she is sooo Rock and Roll. I loved her even more. She is amazing. She treats people well, she is funny, her voice express lots of emotions... and couldn’t believe that a big artist like her was playing in a small place, not in an arena or something. Well, I loved her show. I recommend everyone to go.

I'm 69 years young. I first saw Ferraro at the 40th Canadian Musician Anniversary. Became a fan and can't wait to have my wife see them. I was in a band in my day. Love their sound

Jimmy Gnecco was wonderful as usual. Thrilled to hear some material from the new album, which is magnificent. Was pleased that April Bauer accompanied Jimmy by playing keys on some songs. Nice surprise to hear lovely renditions of 2 Bowie songs also. The opening act, Royston Langdon AKA Leeds, was superb as well. A great night of fantastic music at The Horseshoe! I just wish Jimmy played longer!

I have seen this band several times and last night was the 2nd time at the Horseshoe. They bring an energy to the stage that's matched only by their songs~ originals and covers. They did a very unique cover of Jailhouse Rock. I can't wait for album release coming up soon.

Great trio and a well deserved Grammy nomination for Julian Lage. It is unfortunate that the show had to be at the horseshoe, however, the crowd was very attentive. In the past, I have seen shows at where people are talking throughout the entire performance. This was not the case as Julian shows a strong command for playing alongside excellent players. I would strongly recommend a better venue for the sake of comfort and ease of motion throughout. Musicians of this caliber deserve better.

Outstanding. The songs they played from A Deeper Cut and I’ve seen them now for 3 -4 years. First time was at the Horseshoe. They are getting better and better all the time. Can’t wait until they are back
