Totally in awe and admiration 😍
I’ve discovered @samarajoysings thanks to Spotify’s algorithm in 2021 when she released her first recording of ‘Everything Happens to Me’. I instantly fell in love with her voice and rendition. I eagerly waited for her first album release. I’m a fan since !! October 2022 she came to a bursting and over crowded @newmorningparis , where she blew my mind and sang live even beyond my expectations 😍.
Last night I saw a 24 year old young woman of exceptional talent and professionalism singing 2 1/2 hours for the first time to a sold out Olympia in Paris. Ella, Sarah, Dinah, Billie must be extremely proud of her and Abbey too! The crowd went wild and I cried 🥲 … tears of joy and so much bursting emotion ❤️🔥.
A big Kudos to her band too : Evan Sherman (drums), Connor Rohrer (piano), Michael Migliore (bass), Jason Charos (trumpet), David Mason (alto sax), Kendrick McCallister (tenor sax) and Donavan Austin (trombone).
Samara Joy McLendon (born November 11, 1999) is an American jazz singer. She released her self-titled debut album in 2021 and was subsequently named Best New Artist by JazzTimes. Her second album, Linger Awhile(2022), reached number one on the BillboardJazz Albums chart. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, she won the awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best New Artist. Her 2023 single “Tight” won Best Jazz Performance at the following ceremony. .
My clips don’t really do justice of the magnificent performance I’ve witnessed, I was too busy watching, listening and crying 🥲😁 … but I urge you to go and witness awesomeness if she travels near you … !!!!
Fantastic standing room only sold out concert we attended after the Paris Marathon, and I had no problem staying on my feet. Huge band with great singers, including on this date sexy, beautiful Holybrune. American-style talk box funk (reminiscent of Roger Troutman and Zapp) alive and well in France. Great music and an entertaining show.
My first time at Olympia, the venue was incredible with friendly staff and crowd. In fact, before arriving 30 minutes before the show, there were very few people walking around or at the bar. The concert itself sitting in middle row of Category 1 was fantastic, though maybe LP was pressed for time in being able to talk to her fans? It seemed a more 'professional get-up' than her previous concerts at La Cigale, so please let me know when VIP tickets are on sale... LP herself, said she'd been dreaming of this venue for ten years...
Absolument incroyable.
One of the best days in my life! The show was even better than what I expected, we screamed, we laughed, we cried and we jumped to the point we thought the floor was going to break…Everybody should go to a show like this!
Magical. Perfect. Crazy. I’ve lost my vocabulary for how good this show was. Favorite artist. Went there on my own, made 5 amazing friends there. I cannot describe how amazing was this moment. It felt out of time and I can only call that a dream becoming true. The Olympia made it so perfect, as it was a small room and I was almost in front of the procellium.
My musical spiritual father! 🙌🏾 Except Oliver Charles, I discovered most of this band that night, it was a beautiful show as usual! 🎶✨ I mean it's Ben Harper anyway 😏 💕 Missed Leon Mobley though. Hope to see him again next time.
I will never forget that incredible moment! 💜💜💜
The setlist was a bit disappointing, mainly old songs, only 3 from the new album... The mood was not as good as usual, maybe because now people don't really know the songs, only the main titles... Really not one of my favorite.
Just a trip troughtout everys passiones lived in my life. From my early age on rock - punck rock - the Base They Made for the Misic coming After and YEEEAAAHHH 2 Hours No Stop of Energic Pleasure and Wet really Wet dancing singing and crazy reaction We Really Need in an Historical Concert. GREAT ATMOSPHERE CREATED AND .... I was really happy to the exchange with my "neighbours" really FUNS and make My "ITALIAN" Shiting guy for let move away the NOT sane Peoples in the night.
Frank’s voice is still amazing at his age, but they played a lot of their more recent songs that are way less original and fun, so the momentum of the concert was a bit up and down. But really cool to see them!!
Great evening! It wasn't long before everyone got up and grooved to the music. Of course at 79 years old the high notes were not there but that was less than 5% of the performance. The rest was sublime. The backing vocals were spot on and the quality was of the music was like the original recordings. Quite a feat for a live show.
I have so much love for this one of a kind band ❤️ they killed it as usual ! 🔥 That one was really special, a night filled with a lot of emotion as they did Beard Guy 🧔🏻 proud 🙌🏾 He's in our hearts forever 💫 #GBNF 💙
Amazing performance, 200% dedication and perfect execution as always. I only wished that the sound mix was better (so much mic saturation, larsens, noisy mix, and unusefully over-loud) and more time was let for AB (Shinedown and Raven Age are ok but it was way to long before Alter Bridge could finally start, pretty much late for a Monday show, and stopped a bit early -usual time for a Monday though but it was a bit short- without encore). Thanks you anyway Alter Bridge for touring frequently in France with amazing shows each time!!
