I have been listening to Mr. Bungle since I was 15. Their self titled album was the very first cd I ever bought. I am very grateful I had the opportunity to see them perform live. The opener Otto Von Shirach was incredibly fun, goofy and entertaining. Mr. Bungle performed mostly the material from their 2021 release. I like that album very much, but if you are paying to see them expecting to hear material from their first three releases this isn't the event for you. They performed about 3 minutes worth of "my ass is on fire". The slow cover songs that punctuate the performance were fun and amusing. For the encode each band member told a dad joke and then they played Sepultura's "war for territory". Highly recommend this event.
Band was tight, audience was electric and sang every word to every song! They didn’t play walk through hell, obligatory folk punk song, or total revenge though and instead played their new song “I, vibrator” which was super disappointing. Max also barely sang and typically just screamed certain lyrics and let the audience do most of the work. Wished it was a more straightforward play through of the record and that max sang more. Other than that it was a blast though!
It was the first concert that I actually wanted to go to and I brought my dad with me. It was AMAZING!!!! Especially amazing bc I wasn’t expecting my dad to *love* Tessa Violet as part of the tour! I even was in line for the meet and greet for Tessa, and got a picture!! Excuse the quality of the picture, my dad was behind the phone and was in a rush
This was an epic show. Epic performance. Veterans in peak form. I was always an Extreme fair weather fan. Knew the hits. Appreciated the talent etc. grunge came out and I quit listening to anything and everything from the 80s. I'm 50 now and have a completely different perspective on the music from the 80s early 90s. I love guitar rock. Mod rock grunge post grunge whatever is just different. Rise comes out last year and I was just blown away. Extreme are sincere. They mean it. And they are still producing new music that is relevant thoughtful and just plain great! Do yourself a favor. Go see them. Not many still around like this.
My husband gifted me an early birthday present to see The Struts rock the stage at The House of Blues in Dallas. Execellent service with Jose securing a VIP table and the staff with seating and service making our treck from Charleston SC a really special experience.
THE STRUTS WERE OFF THE CHAIN! Luke Spiller is engaging and mesmerizing with a voice and stage presence like no other! A big Thank You to him and his band mates for another memorable performance! ❤️ The Struts!
The floor layout at House of Blues Dallas is not good for any reasonably well-attended show. It is cramped, hard to get to the bathrooms and bar areas, difficult to get good sight lines for the majority of the patrons in the GA Floor area. The area containing cordoned-off tables under the overhang (behind the sound booth) is a complete waste of otherwise usable space. The upper balcony (seated area) is comfortable, but the venue and the promoters have set their prices on those tickets exorbitantly high -- out of reach for people who like to attend shows on a regular basis. This is my 3rd negative experience at this venue. I am going to avoid it for future shows, if at all possible. The Granada, The Factory, and even the newer Echo Lounge are better venues for live music in Dallas.
One other thing about HOB Dallas: Why is there club music blasting through the walls during the main act? During quieter numbers, it is really distracting and detrimental to the overall live music experience. HOB: You can do better. Or, maybe you can't.
The band, First Aid Kit, was top-notch. They do a really great show. I hope next time they come through town they will be at a different venue.
This was my first time seeing Local Natives & they’ve been my favorite band for over 10 years. I think it’s safe to say this was my favorite concert I’ve ever been to. They put on an AMAZING show and they just keep putting out better & better albums. I can’t wait to see them again! I was towards the back last time screaming my heart out so I’ll be front & center tonight!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I expected a bit more from this band at the very end of the event. Make no mistake, this band is full of very talented musicians, no question. From the Fiddle Player to the Banjo Player, Electric Guitar Players, Josh Abbott on Acoustic Guitar, the Bass Player, Horn, Trombone and Saxophone Player and a Gentleman playing Harmonica, this band is truly extraordinary. I heard a wide variety of music from this band, but at the end of the performance the band played music that was not the history or context of this band. The closing numbers seemed desperate to get to the end. I was a bit disappointed in that. Otherwise, it was an extraordinary show
The Bronx were great (as were The Riverboat Gamblers who performed after them). I truly don't think this was the right venue for them. It seemed like the majority of the crowd did not know how to experience nor appreciate punk rock music. A lot of finely groomed people wearing designer tags and too much cologne/perfume. The kind of elegant who can probably afford to do coke. Matt did his best to get them moving, but they resisted and were offended by those who actually felt the vibe being put out by the music. Summary: Bronx = pinnacle LA punk; Gamblers = perfect NY punk; HOB-Dallas = not an appropriate scene
Everything the entire experience was just so amazing. Sux we didn't get to do meet and greet and get individual pictures with them, but it was still a Fckn' AMAZING TIME! Was my first time getting to see Chase Atlantic live in concert! Post partum concert depression is very real😵😂 ESPECIALLY when it's a Chase Atlantic concert😂😭 Feel like I've been going through some serious withdrawals since then😰😓 Can't wait till I get to hopefully go to another one again🤞🙏🙏
The two bests concerts of my life were Metric in Dallas, 2019 and Metric in Dallas, 2022. They bring so much energy and positivity to the stage. Emily connects with everyone in the audience; she locked eyes with my daughter in the front, pointed at her and said "All right." My daughter is still floating!
They sounded amazing. Jimmy played killer, unnecessary but wonderful solos. In 2019 they put "Combat Baby" or "Dead Disco" to an audience vote and "Dead Disco" won. "Combat Baby" is my first and favorite Metric song, so when Jimmy and Emily played an acoustic arrangement of it halfway through the set, I was absolutely thrilled. She performed it with so much joy!
My only regret is that I didn't bring my teenage son - NEXT TIME.
I actually felt like I was at a REAL Prince concert.
The lead singer as well as the guitarist and the keyboard player were very engaging and entertaining. I will definitely go to see them again if they ever play in Dallas again.
The lead singer put on a GREAT show. Excellent vocals and fantastic dancing. The costumes were on point too! As a bonus, the guitarist solos were phenomenal!
Absolutely LOVE this band!!!
I've never heard these guys before this show. I like the fact they have a true bassist, and felt the music wasn't too heavy. The band looked like they were having a great time onstage and interacted with the crowd well. I am old school and still buy CDs, so now I am on the hunt for some from Intervals! I hope they come back to Dallas soon, on their own tour, at a smaller venue. Thanks guys, for an incredible show!
So this concert meant sooo much to me and for so many reasons. I finally got to see an true American Idol. My brother was able to take his young two boys with our family to their first concert. Unfortunately, for us it was my brother’s last concert. He passed shortly after that concert but he loved Scarypoolparty so very much and was super excited to see him perform at the HOB Dallas. I was able to record some of more popular songs and every time I play those videos it takes me back to that perfect night. Thank you for all that you do “Maryjandro” !!( as my nephew would call you )
this was one of the best performances i have ever seen. i’ve been to a lot of concerts. his however was my first hip hop one!! and the energy that his home state gave him just was unbelievable. and i really feel like he gave us his best. and it was certainly worth paying to go to another one! he put it all out there for us!! forever love you j❤️ since day one bby
Concert was supposed to start at 7. We had bought early admission passes through the Nav website and showed up at 6. Some people without the passes had been there for hours waiting so they could get as close as possible to the stage. So we waited and waited and waited.
Finally at 7pm (the time the concert was supposed to start), the early admission people finally got in! Then the poor crowd who had been waiting for hours to in the hot Texas sun finally got to come in. Concert didn’t start until 8, which was irritating. Felt like it wasn’t the venue itself that was delayed. House of Blues is a great venue.
Great concert! The crowd was really into it and clearly knew all the words to the songs. Opening act was Killy, who was very entertaining and whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
I have been a TTWS fan since 1991's Fear album was released. They came to my college campus, University of Alabama in Huntsville, during the tour for that album. I fell in love with Glen Phillips then. Since then I purchased all of their albums, including their first two, Bread and Circus and Pale.
I saw Glen during his solo career when he played in Birmingham, AL. I was totally bummed though when they split up.
But when they got back together and released their newest album, New Constellation, I purchased it and have seen their concerts at the Dallas House of Blues the past several years here. Last night's concert was amazing as usual.
I will continue to buy any future albums and attend concerts as long as they are together and tour.
The thing I love best about TTWS are the lyrics. Glen is truly a poet and is definitely underrated.
Please keep making music and touring. Love you guys! ❤️
The show was more than wonderful! Dallon and Ryan are both such great artists and entertainers and their really great to look at also!!😊 There was never a minute that we weren’t singing or laughing or clapping. It was just great fun without any bad language you have to hear with some of your bands. Such a wonderful thing to hear bands like IDK and TOP and FOB that don’t have to use bad language in their songs and at their shows. Bravo to that! And bravo to Dallon and Ryan! They are going to be the next BIG band by next year!!🥰
I can’t even begin how amazing this concert was. The energy, the crowd. Everything was perfect. I have never been more excited to see a band preform and to see Wallows was a dream come true. I danced and sang my heart out to every song. They truly are a talented group of people who light up the room with their vocals. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these guys.
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! the opening acts were literally so good!!!!! they were fun & got me pumped for jack & jack!! Jack & Jack were the best ever. i’ve been to a lot of concerts & this one was my favorite. I was so close too & I kept making Gilinsky laugh. I would come see them again no doubt. when I made them they were so sweet & genuine. they have a heart of gold & a good soul. I love them so much and I will definitely be back for them. & there was so much detail on stage & etc... it was just great. it was epic. I had the time of my life. best night ever. no joke.
