Gail was great. A talented songwriter, singer and musician. A storyteller. Honest, sincere, she connected with the audience, who were clearly loyal fans - a full house @ Joe's Pub. Intimate space perfect for Gail's performance. She's a treasure. And an outstanding bass player.
Grace Kelly was phenomenal. She is a fantastic saxophone player and has a beautiful voice. Grace is truly a charismatic, and energetic entertainer. Her band was outstanding too.
Great crowd and venue for her. The audience was engaged and she seemed to be having fun getting us involved. Really loved how Kandace encouraged her two band mates to share and be IN the spotlight reserved for her. And they both were equal to their moments (her bass player was transcendent, really) Very joyful all around.
Great venue , great singer and bass player . Not sure about her original songs but she is awesome at covers and standards and wonderful on the piano and keyboards.
It was wonderful!! The only “bad” thing I could say about it is that it was too short! And I think most of the audience would agree… many calls for “encore” but apparently they had to end bc the venue closes at 11. Otherwise we could have easily enjoyed another hour or more!
"Bab L' Bluz" and their sizzling hot Moroccan Rock, was on fire; leaving crowd on their feet dancing and singing to call-and-response! Their performance and energy was HOT, HOT, HOT... totally on FIRE! Their shows are a MUST! :-)
Receiving a hometown welcome, Aaron and Little Big created an evening of strong melodies, strong solos and playing like a band. Counter point, call and response with strong solos from each member. Strong recommendation.
If I could I would give her 10 more stars …. Her exquisite voice the amazing talent of her band especially her pianist is a moving experience . If you want to see true talent ,passion and joy go see Lizz .
Performance by both ladies (Kandace Springs and Lizz Wright) were excellent, just too brief (only allowed 30 mins each). Ticket prices combined with the "2 drink minimum", there isn't much value in seeing a show at this venue. And people were packed in like sardines. Don't know if I would return to Joe's Pub again.
Lizz Wright’s voice is mesmerizing and enthralling, drawing you in while entertaining you with her passionate and soulful voice. It feels good sharing the same space with her. You wish the concert would never end!
We came down from Toronto to see this show, and it was amazing! Very kind and friendly personnel, a great menu and a fabulous show...only wish it could have been longer!!!
We've been fans of Youn Sun Nah for over 10 years, since discovering her at the Jazz in Marciac festival in France. She is not just a hugely talented artist, she makes real connections with her audience. Loved that the young man Matthew offered her a bouquet, and I know at least 2 other audience members were teary-eyed with her during her last number. If she comes again, we hope to be able to attend it too! Bravo & encore!
Great show as always by The Tiger Lillies. Just wish the crowd had been less chatty. A lot of loud talking going on throughout. And there was often the sound of crashing dishes as the staff cleared tables and dumped the contents in the back. Definitely took away from the value of the venue being a smaller intimate space. All in all though The Tiger Lillies are superb. Huge fan for many years and so glad they made it back to the States.
Had a blast and LOVED the venue! Absolutely stunning architecture and fantastic sound. Raye put on a GREAT show and we loved discovering High Tea who were there to accompany her.
Matt Alber always gives a great show at Joe's Pub.
He didn't disappoint this time. He gives his all. Great songs and he is in great voice.
Can't wait to see him when he returns in February.
One of the best singer-songwriters out there! The songs will give you all the feelings. The banter in between was hilarious. It’s so fun to watch him perform because he’s a unique artist with such freedom & openness in his expression. It was instantly in my top 5 concert experiences ever, which is not something I’d say lightly.
Four fantastic people on stage. Just guitars, songs , stories and voices in a room with 100 people. It was like a party with friends - friends with a lot of talent. Carly, Michael and Ryan are not to be missed. Luke Laird showed why he is a songwriting legend.
