The Sugarmill

The Sugarmill, Stoke-on-Trent’s nationally acclaimed live music venue and nightclub which has been open since 1994. We’ve been a ‘Grassroots Music Venue’ since before the term was coined, and we were just part of ‘the toilet circuit’.

The Sugarmill is situated at the bottom of Brunswick Street in the heart of the Cultural Quarter of Hanley, the city centre of Stoke-on-Trent. We also operate a much smaller venue right next door - a little dive bar called Sugarcane.

Our main stage has hosted literally hundreds and hundreds of bands over the years, many of whom have gone on to massive success, including; Skunk Anansie, Coldplay, Muse, Elbow, The Zutons, Daft Punk, Stereophonics, A Day to Remember, The 1975, Ash, The National, Maximo Park, Kasabian, Lamb of God, Biffy Clyro, Malevolence, Snow Patrol, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Trivium, Bring Me The Horizon, Ian Brown, Foals, You Me at Six, Glassjaw, Editors and The Libertines to name just a few. We have also hosted some great shows by well-established artists such as Roger Taylor, Robert Plant, Chrissy Hinde, and Martha Reeves.
