Steve, Alphonso, Bobby Lee and Pete were spectacular, playing as a band of colleagues, a set of talented musicians who bring light to audiences with the rhythms and harmonies of world class rock, in a jazz vein. Mr. Kimock demonstrated his talents on several different instruments, from a lap steel setup, to a Fender Strat, among others. From the first strains of "Shakedown Street" as an opener, his use of his pedalboard were delightful, as he plucked, and strummed, fingered the neck and worked the songs with a substantial mix of sustain and tremolo, vibratto and crisp clean jamming with his fellow musicians. Likewise, Mr. Johnson, led the band in commanding fashion, holding his pauses with a sensitivity to the tempo, providing a low end to the music, on his polished-mirrored electric bass. While he didn't quite bring any slap and pop jazz beats to thump along with the all too familiar song set, his jazzy vibe was clear as a bell. During introductions to the band mates at the end of the first set, the statuesque lead, in his leather hat, paid tribute to the four sound and lighting engineers, and support staff that make the performance look simple. Mr. Rodgers stood steadfastly on the audience's right, playing the high end tones in jam-jazz fashion with either a guitar or a banjo, depending on the sonic tones the song called for to please the audience's appetite. The harmonies, especially of "Let It Grow" were rousing, through to the instrumental elements that clearly had the audience imagining other vocal versions about "...dancing on the head of a pin...," with resounding exclamations of "I am. I am. I am. I am." Mr. Lavezzoli, the congenial percussionist, demonstrated finesse with over a full minute of simple, soft tapping on a single cymbal in a steady beat, that resonated throughout the Copernicus Center, from the floorboards, up (see what I did there?!). His work around the kit held the band together and maintained the ambiance of the others instruments as though he was playing a complex series of duets, all at once. The band, "Jazz Is Dead" were held together with the sanguine tones of thousands of shows that had come before for each of these rock and roll professionals. The heart that they each put into their performance prompted young ladies to twirl and spin in a fairytale's universal connection to the muses. Whether the vocalizations of "Music to India" invocations by barefoot Pete, accompanied with Alphonso inspired or confused the listeners in attendance, no one walked away missing the point... "JAZZ IS DEAD!"

Excellent: for the GD fan who thinks there’s way too much singing and not enough instrumentals.

This is my second time seeing them live performing, one was in NY , and I'm beyond happy when they added Chicago this year.. I get to see them on sound check and got photo with them.. unbelievable, they are a vocal and live monster.. I'm so proud of Mahalima.. If you haven't seen them live yet. I highly recommended for you to go to their concert.

Performance was worth the tickets and 5 hr travel from IN! Will continue to support this group as they continue to inspire others and staying humble. See you again next year for another tour!

Classic set list. Exceptional that he’s still singing, strumming and touring 50 years+ later. A legend.

Dave Mason opened for Marshall Tucker Band. Mason was just amazing. He is great guitars and a real pro. Marshall Tucker was horrible. There is only one member from the original band, The lead singer. He has no voice left and was an embarrassment to himself and the rest of the band. The rest band was pretty average and couple of guys looked just bored to be there. I have not been to a show where the band tried to fill the time out with never ending guitar solos, bass guitar solo and even a drum solo. No acoustic guitar or steel guitars which is big part of their old sound.

Dave Mason was excellent. Doug Gray (of Marshall Tucker) ended up speaking too much and may have been a wee bit toasty. They didn’t quite play their oldies but goodies in a fashion that was enjoyable.

So awesome to see Dave Mason and his band! I wish he played longer. He should have been the headliner. :)

Absolutely amazing! Love this guy! Every song was so good! And I really liked this venue - first time I ever saw a show here.

Daughtry was AMAZING... sounds as good in person as he does on album. Opening band lead singer was the only ick moment.
