Funk 'n Waffles

Mac Saturn are an awesome band. I love the bluesy sound their rock music has. Performance wise they pour their heart and soul intto their music. Carson is a really good front man who makes their live performances interesting and fun. This band is going places.

Incredible performance by an amazing blues artist. He worked the crowd ahead of time, played an incredible set backed by solid drumming & bass, and his stage presence was riveting. The venue was intimate which was a bonus. Best blues concert I've seen in years. Happy crowd too.

It was really good

Wish I had gotten there earlier to see the whole set by VaporEyes! What I saw was great! Transient Kicks were on their game! I had some friends there that were seeing them for the first time . They are now fans! Every member of the band is top notch! They threw in some disco era music done Kicks style. Ignore this review and go see them. I can’t do them justice or even describe them.

Loved the show!!!

The Hooten Hallers are great! Have seen them before. The Big Damn Band are at the peak of the game, Funk n'Waffles is a nice intimate club with a unique restaurant next door. Parking was a bit problematic as Hamilton was playing a the theatre down the street. All in all a great time!!

Monster guitar player! The band is terrific, Toby Marshall is a killer Organist and Dylan holds it all up with a steady driving rhythm. Great show!

Jim Lauderdale is an amazing songwriter and pretty damn good singer too. His show at Funk and Waffles was fun, relaxed, poignant, and completely gratifying. He played every song you might hope to hear live. This was the first time I saw him in an indoor venue, usually catch him at various festivals. He is one performer I would definitely go out of my way to see live!

Totally awesome!

Greg Koch was amazing, as were his two band mates. The mastery of his instrument was complete and the energy and wit of Greg was a pleasure to be witness to.

The opener (Honey for the Bees) seemed extremely under qualified and inexperienced to be playing at this event. They were out of tune and didn’t play their instruments well at all. Sitting through an hour of them fumbling through songs and singing about their “stuffed moose” kind of spoiled the evening. Sunny war really brought a great presence after listening to such childish music. They were soulful and the music was absolutely incredible. The guitarist brought an exciting presence to the show and the lead singer had a wonderful sense of humor. Just beautiful music, but the opener left a very bad impression that was hard to shake for the rest of the night. I wish I wasn’t righting such a negative comment about a band just starting out (the opener not Sunny War) but I really do not believe they should be performing at venues such as this one until they step up their game and really work on their music. No adult wants to listen to a song about a stuffed moose while the bands family cheers along. I just wanted to get a couple drinks with friends and we were forced to experience this embarrassing performance. I am typically very impressed with the bands that this venue puts on but this was just another level of disappointment. Sunny war was very good though and I would definitely listen to them in the future as long as I don’t have to sit through another hour of Honey for the Bees.

Front row was great. Tried my best to keep it real (although he did stop IG-88's Chevy cus of my robot dance). Crowd was great! The 'Final Show' was quite alright. Going to miss that stuff. mc chris ownz
