The show didn’t disappoint at all. My 9 year old loves Ashley Kutcher and was bummed this morning that the show was over. She was able to meet Ashley and get a photo with her. The memory will live with her forever. Ashley put on a great show and my job now is to listen to her music so I can prepare for the next show!
Five stars!!!
This is the best rock n roll band in America!
The band functions as a unit that punches you in the face from the very first note! Seth (drummer) Bill (guitar) Tim (bass) and Henri (lead guitar) are fired out of a cannon! And then there’s Arrow (lead singer). Echoes of the best rock n roll bands of all time yet carving their own path, that is Starcrawler!
Last year I saw him in Asheville with the symphony which was amazing but this concert was at a smaller venue and so well executed. His music is so encapsulating live and he intentionally creates a communal vibe in the space. I also love Tall Tall trees so to see him play with Kishi Bashi live just made the concert 10x more enjoyable for me as a fan of both of them. Every time I see him live I think what an incredibly, extraordinary talent he has and I wish more people could discover him.
I will never ever forgive myself for not approaching brian before the show. I went up to the front entrance because I wasn’t aware the line was out back. I couldn’t muster the courage to say hi. Brian please come back to this venue and stand out back again. I loved the show it was the highlight of my year.
First time seeing AJ & BS. We love these kids and have been following AJ on the tube since she was a little thing, singing with Mr. Tuttle and his family band. She has assembled for herself a wonderful, tight, exciting group of bandmates who excel in their instrumentation and singing. The audience was an even mixture from boomers to gen-z, so that should tell you something about AJ and Blue Summit's appeal. The set list was a bit shorter than we were expecting, but it was a small venue, the tickets were cheap, they took the stage late and have been under a heavy touring schedule, so that might have explained it. Still, we have nothing but praise for this young lady, her band and look forward to seeing them again sometime soon.
From early on hearing Lamont on social media I became a fan. Bought tickets the minute I saw he was at the Cradle. Fantastic concert, amazing voice and a funky fabulous band!
I live in Wilmington, maybe he will play Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre sometime.
Cats Cradle is a great venue, I like the back room; maybe keep it to 80 decibels! It was definitely loud! Lamont is talented and a really sweet guy. I wish he and his great band become wildly successful
LTJ put on a great show, as they always do! They bring high energy and fun to every show and never disappoint. This was the second show in NC in less than a year. Hoping they keep coming back!
Voodoo Glow Skulls also put on a kick a$$ show, as always. Loved the combination of these 2 bands. They complement each other well.
This was my first time seeing (or hearing of) Dylan Kay and the Solutions. I enjoyed their set too. They seem like a lot of fun.
I really enjoyed Ernest and Walt. Their set needs to work out some kinks but the joy and emotion I felt was palpable.
Tbh, binki came across like a bit of an asshole and it wasn’t in an endearing way. The band was great, but he just rubbed me the wrong way. I love his music though. Voice felt flat too.
Hopefully this is constructive criticism and not hurtful.🧡
Been following CC around NC for 17 years and they are always a guarantee for a great stellar performance , however this show was one that I can easily single out as one of their BEST performances I ever attended! From the talent, the energy and the immaculate way in which they threaded each song into the next, rarely stopping and keeping the grove at the most electrifying level of band to crowd energy. They are addicting to both old and new Dead Heads and can deliver as good and better than most GD tribute bands! I hope they will bring their high quality energetic music and followers to The Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw NC soon and incorporate this venue into their tours across NC. This particular performance at the Cats Cradle was a true masterpiece and they seam to continue to get better every single time they play.
Archers were awesome, as always. It was a great show. I wish i could have gone the 2nd night, too. They had a really diverse set. A good mix. I didnt get a set list this time, but it was still the best night of the year. Im so happy we were able to get tickets & go. I hope they can tour again soon. They sound as good or better live.
I saw The Happy Fits on a Tuesday night. I was hesitant to go to the show knowing I would have to work the next morning but it was so worth it. Phoneboy and Daisy the Great were with them at Cat's Cradle. The energy from all three bands was fantastic! I have never danced so hard to a cello before. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to have fun.
All three bands had so much energy and sounded amazing! We had a fantastic time and were lucky enough to be up close to the stage the whole show. We were excited to meet and get a photo with Magnolia Park after the show, and I personally loved that Buddy from Senses Fail was trying to get his hands on some Cook Out while in NC.
Wow. I’ve been a fan of Brick + Mortar for almost 8 years and have always wanted to attend one of their shows. Cats Cradle Back Room was the perfect venue, as it is pretty small and intimate but leaves room for mingling/dancing. John and Brandon were so incredibly sweet to everyone who approached them, even though they were noticeably tired from it being their last day of tour. Although, that did not stop Brandon from jumping around on stage and even coming into the crowd and singing/dancing with us, all the while playing it up for the cameras as people recorded. I approached Brandon as he was helping pack up their gear on the stage and he and John came down to sign my poster, take a picture with me and thank me for being at the show. :) They both had such great energy on stage, and even before the show while the openers were playing I spotted Brandon on the balcony overlooking the show and he waved back when I waved at him. You can certainly tell from their music, and demeanor they are such kind souls, and even if you don’t listen to them you should go to a show just for the great vibes.
I wouldn't know since the venue did not send out an email about needing to have a covid test from a 'health care professional' until the day before the show. I am sure the show was great but since there was no mention of needing any covid test when I bought the ticket, I am a little bit pissed but it's not the end of the world. I just want to add that the vaccines are NOT a guarantee that you will not or do not have covid and a negative covid test is NOT a guarantee that you do not have covid, and the whole thing is thus rather an exercise in stupidity of the frightened sheep. Even so, had the venue sent out the email the day I purchased the ticket rather than THE DAY BEFORE THE FUCKING SHOW when there was no time to arrange a test from a 'health care professional' then I would have been glad to accommodate their stupid policy. As of yet I have received NO REPLY as to my complaints from either the Cats Cradle management nor from etix, and I assume that I am just screwed out of my money. It isn't even about the money so much as I have been wanting to see this artist since I was 18 and the one time I have a chance, I get fucked over by the venue.
crazy good show, everyone played their heart out! loved the way ash was getting the crowd involved, paul broke like 5 picks he killed it, and i think myron was smiling the whole show! got to meet them all at the merch stand after, i was lucky enough to get my cd signed! yall rocked. come back to nc!!
Failure put on a hypnotic hard hitting show all in the intimate setting of Cat's Cradle. My fiance and I were awestruck; fully encapsulated by a wall of haunting sound and the driving bass which was like a second heartbeat at times. The set was amazing, definitely see them on this tour if you can. Can't wait to see the full documentary!
VIP experience was supposed to include soundcheck—umm, 2 songs: no. Cat’s Cradle and/or others didn’t permit things to happen for 95% of soundcheck for the 30+ people who paid ~$150 for a $50 show. Q&A was worth $50, because Dulli is amazing; $30-40 merch. for VIP was nice. Sound was ok, but vocals were *smothered* by amped-up instrumentals—need a soundcheck? I got you, next time—just tell them to let me in! 🤘
Great intimate show! Absolutely perfect, in my opinion. I cannot wait to see Phosphorescent again! I just hope that Matthew wasn’t disheartened that the crowd turnout was rather small, which absolutely shocked me! Made the show a more intimate experience from a fans point of view. Maybe Game Of Thrones was too important for some people to miss...
45 years attending concerts and this is the greatest lineup ever!! Lots of talented fun-loving artists filled the stage. Phil Alvin and the Blasters were in top form along with Jim Heath and Jimbo from the Reverend Horton Heat with assistance from Robert Williams aka Big Sandy. Junior Brown is in a league all his own and he and wife Tanya were outstanding as always. Great show!!
