Christopher is wonderful. We had so much fun. The energy was fantastic. It was my actual birthday and I had always wanted to see him so it was meant to be. The Saban Theater is awesome. Beautiful and well maintained. Can't wait to see him agian.
The master was in the room. Boney James was excellent!!!! A great musician and what a wonderful intimate experience in a smaller venue. He played the room (and the audience) like a professional. I didn’t want the night to end!!!
Glenn Hughs opened and he put on a Fantastic show, he played old Deep Purple songs and some of his own music. But Yngwie was the Ultimate show stopper. He was extremely at his best. His playing was as usual his Best Performance. Great show, had a great time and the drinks were Killer, too.
Never ever ceases to amaze and we have seen him in concert many times over the years. Gino's voice is as pure today as it was 40 years ago. None of that auto tune / pitch correction / processing needed that so many currently use.
Not to mention his band is composed of virtuoso musicians at the top of their game. His brother Ross is also a master live front of house mixing engineer, and the sound was perfect as always. Highly recommended "don't miss" concert experience.
Gino Vannelli always puts on an excellent show! The venue is great too. Beautiful Art Deco building. Wish they had more restrooms on the first floor but understandable considering the age of the building.
Love, love, love Gino! His voice is still so amazing and his band is fantastic. The Saban Theatre is the perfect size and charming. Parking is conveniently close and very reasonably priced…especially compared to the thieving Forum.
My only complaint is that Gino Vannelli’s engineer could have/should have done a much better job blending treble, bass, and volume for Gino’s voice and the band.
Definitely will see go to the Saban again.
I’ve seen Gino four times. We were at the Saban Theater last night, Sept 1. I’d say he was good….not great. Too bad he doesn’t do 2 hours…..especially after I drove 3.5 hours to see him. He still has a strong voice and I love his music. On a scale of 1-10, I’d say it was a 7.5.
We finally got to see Colin Hay with a full band, which dimensionally made all the difference. We seen him perform solo acoustic in the same theater just before the Lockdowns began. Great way to come full circle in that way. Colin is quite the comedian to boot, jokingly anecdotally between songs. Non-stop entertainment, literally.
He had the house rocking, singing and dancing all night. One of his best concerts. We saw him 3 times last year and each performance was fabulous. Looking forward to see him again at the YouTube Theater.
We’ve seen Jake 6 times in concert, this was the best. It was wonderful to have guests on stage, and holiday songs reinterpreted. A full house, intimate setting, and great music, couldn’t ask for anything more to get the holiday season started!
I got the set list! Too bad I couldn't get an autograph 😪. Overall beautiful show, however the time was misleading. When I purchased tickets, it showed start time 9pm. So I got there 9pm, and it had already started. I was very upset, since I missed 35min of THE Julieta Venegas! 🥺
Show was so great! She had so much energy and excitement. Fantastic performer! So glad I got to see her after being a fan for over 40 years!
Beth Hart was spectacular. But the ticketing situation was a bit of an issue. I'm not sure what was going on. They were switching people's tickets, I guess because of the venue change. In the end, a manager got me sorted out. But for about thirty minutes, people were standing in line without an idea of what was going on. Regular announcements by staff explaining what was going on and what you were supposed to do would have helped a lot.
Beth Hart is a great singer and performer. We were very pleased with the seating at the Saban even though show was initially scheduled at Starlight Bowl. We had amazing seats, great evening of rockin music all with friends. I have seen her many times but, this was my favorite performance overall. Awesome and inspirational.
Excellent. One of the best concerts I’ve been to in 10 years. I’ve seen the Stones, Chicago,McCartney— probably go to 8-15 concerts a year. These guys were EPIC. And their new song,” Prayer for the Children,” is hauntingly beautiful.
It was so good to see Justin solo again. I was BIG fan during his Moody Blues days and I must admit I miss hearing him with the band, but Justin gave us a good sampling of his greatest hits plus newer material and solo faves. It was truly magical as his voice and playing are as good as the old days.
His band is also excellent and provide much of the Moodies flavor on those tunes. I also appreciated his stories and song backgrounds. The super talented Mike Daws opened with his magical guitar hands. Not to be missed.
My co concert goer said it was boring
My opinion is if if the performer It’s still alive and they are performing with clarity, it’s a fantastic show! I’m grateful to have seen him
Peter (Herman) has had an amazing number of big hits. He sang most of them. I only wish he would rely less on audience sing-along. We came to hear him, not ourselves.
Beth and the band started their 5-week tour to a great and supportive San Diego crowd. I south of a couple of technical issues, the band was right with Beth. Sing catalogue was well served including reaching back to 1st album sings. Show latte more than 2 hours finishing with a standing O! Great show!
The Winery Dogs are by far, the most talented band out there today. Richie Kotzen, Billy Sheehan, and Mike Portnoy make their hard driving rock music put a big smile on your face. Watching them rip through their set of original songs is a special treat. The level of musicianship between the three of them is by far spectacular. Neither Richie or Billy use picks when they play. While Mike Portnoy behind the drum kit drives the engine.
Tonight was the last night of their little US tour. But they did announce that they are making new music, and will have a new album to support in the near future.
I highly recommend seeing The Winery Dogs any chance you get. All three of them are very active in other bands. And if you have a chance to see them in their respective projects, I would say go out and see them
