This band is way too under appreciated for how straight up cool they are. They show up for business with non stop rock n roll. Turn a slow night into a n unforgettable one and take the time to check them out!
3LH was jumping all over the stage. Love their energy which matches their music. The show had Christina Jean and the Howlers open and The Messer Chups were the headliners. All the bands were great and the audience was very enthusiastic. Zombirella even smiled!
I wrote Redd Kross asking them to play songs from their album Neurotica, and I was not disappointed. I thought their show was awesome. From Neurotica, they played the title track, Peach Kelli Pop, and Frosted Flake. They also played my favorite song of theirs, Annie's Gone. They played their early songs too. I had a great time at Alex's Bar in Long Beach, CA.
Really fun show at a great venue. Tommy, Karla Rose and Little Venom all played solo and together in various iterations. Karla played her songs mostly solo, but had some help from Little Venom, then played fiddle to some of Tommy’s acoustic songs. Tommy started acoustic, then LV backed him up for his electric stuff, not falling far from the Replacements tree. That is ok, because Slim and Bob are gone, Paul and Chris seem to be retired, so it’s up to Tommy to carry the mantle, which he does just fine. LV closed the show. Haven’t heard them before, sort of reminded me of the Breeders with some anarchy tossed in. Nice vocal harmonies and a great lead guitarist.
lots of old heads came out but thats because the band was from the 80’s, thought they would mosh more but i know they backs hurt now. Definitely was a vibe & super fun to come out here as my first impression to Alex’s Bar! Gonna constantly come again!
The best part was free parking, friendly customer service, theater like stage and of course some surprises played great, I highly recommend seeing a gig here, not to mention the acoustics were good.
The Stargazer Lilies warmed up for Acid Mothers Temple at Alex's Bar in Long Beach, California and really blew me away! They had a huge, trippy sound that was also very pleasant. Couldn't make sense of any of the lyrics and this was my first exposure to them. I bought their 2022 CD, Cosmic Tidalwave and have been listening to it. The lyrics are really mindblowing and very positive as well. This is some great stuff. Now I can't wait to see them again! Please come back!
I missed this show but saw them in Vegas last weekend. Amazing, total chaos, looked like the bass amp head blew out about 10 minutes into their set and Seiji's first guitar got wrecked at one point and was replaced... but nothing can stop guitar wolf and they were wild as ever! The show at Alex's looked like it was just as insane from the videos I've seen
Volk are SOOOO MUCH FUN LIVE!!! This is the second time I seen them this year, and my only complaint is they don't get to play a long enough set. Awesome show!!! 🍻
The Surfrajettes were so tight last night! It sounded great, and they played great. They put on their special brand and it was perfect. I love their sound and I love their show.
This was everything I wanted from a show in 2024, unless Hank WIlliams and D. Boon should rise from the grave and make a trio with Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
I hate to say this but I was a little disappointed. I am a big fan of Kyuss and every spin off band of Kyuss but the bands playing this show were just too speed metal for me. The bands did not do anything spectacular. They played their set and no interaction with the audience. Left halfway thru Mondo Generator.
Had a blast! Hadn't gone to a matinee in a long time. Missed the Runts but got there just in time to see Skullcrack. Didn't realize Ron Martinez from Final Conflict/Lower Class Brats was doing vox for Angry Samoans until I saw him on stage with them. Ill Repute was just as good as the other times I've seen them. There were several members of other Nardcore bands there to help represent Oxnard. The guitar player from the Weirdos played a couple of songs with them. He told me he will be 69 soon. Great to see an old skool car like him still tearing it up on some punk tunes! Great times 👍🍻😝🤟
I love these guys! Just saw them at Alex's Bar in Long Beach. The singer is hot and knows how to stir up the crowd. As before, we had a great time and plan to see them again!
I love these guys! Matt is amazing to hear and all the guys in the band are just so good and fit together the way a band should. I’ll follow them anywhere.
Alex’s was easy. Such a great club to see this band! And somehow the walls stood after the show!
Unfrocking believable- seeing the Damned in such close intimate setting phenomenal -it reminded me when they played Fenders Ballroom, Long Beach Ca back in the eighties, but only better....
Great matinee show, fun line up! Rocketz always deliver a great show and I'm always excited to be introduced to new music Jesse Ray and the Catfish and Straight Shooters were so much fun. Thanks for the. Fun Sunday afternoon
