I’ve seen him numerous times and he never disappoints. Chris travels with a cadre of excellent musicians and he is willing to share the stage with them which is great to see and hear.
This tour is different from many in the past and I have to say we really enjoyed the improvisational approach.
My recommendation is to see Chris Botti every chance you get.
This is my 10th time seeing since 1989. And I have to say I really appreciate his craftsmanship to his lyrics and to his band. The chemistry was true and his voice has not wavered with time.
We brought friends so please add two ppl to the list of REK fans!
For the “final” tour he did not disappoint!
I have attend 3 Matteo Bocelli concerts, and he puts on the best concerts I have ever attended. His voice is mellifulous, yet very powerful. He is so humble, authentic, charismatic, and appreciative of the audience. He is a true performer. He interacts so well with the audience and always acknowledges those in the upper balconies, as well. He has a great rapport his musicians, too. In addition to singing the songs he was written, when he sings songs by a few other artists, he performs them better than the original artist. Best of all, he sings several classical/opera pieces in each pop concert, and from the reaction of the crowded, everyone loves them even more. Matteo is a superstar.
The Dixie Dregs delivered over an hour and a half of their own brand of prog rock, jazz, country, rockabilly. After all these years, still impossible to put them in a particular 'style box.' Run, don't walk, to see this band.
Amazing show as always. So great to see the guys continuing to produce at such a high level. Mind-blowing show. Shout out to the Carolina Theater as well. The hospitality, the beauty of the venue, and the spirit of the place is amazing!
Bought these tickets a couple of months before the Charlotte show was announced, so we got to see RCB two nights in a row. This show was even better than the show in CLT. Acoustics fantastic, RC's voice is still strong, guitar playing is amazing as always, and the band are attended to one another. Never get tired of seeing The Robert Cray Band in person!
This just wasn't a show. It was an experience of ethereal proportion. The entire band was mesmerizing their
Talent extraordinaire!, The venue was clean. Staff was orderly and professional, acousticsgreat. I really enjoyed this mindd blowing mix of gifted musicians!
As always expected, Jake provided another outstanding entertainment evening. His mastery of the ukulele in many types of music was evident from classical to reggae to hard rock to complex hawiian classics. A first for me to experience was a sing along to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Of course, more female concergoers knew the lyrics and could hit the notes. I did hear a few gray hairs around me chime in on "poor boy".
Jake's play list included many standards and some new offerings off of his latest CD, Grateful. Joining on stage was bassest Jackson Waldhoff who creates a subtle but complex beat. Jackson had a few breakout solos in the performance too.
I never know whether Jake will go very accustic or very electronic. This show was a mix. You could have heard a pin drop in the audience on some of the quiet songs. On more full electric he showed sound layering techniques to mimic past performances where he had accompanyment and in one wild set I think he must have built 5 layers of sound before performing an Eddie Van Halen style rock out.
I'll plug the Carolina Theatre here for hosting this and many other terrific shows. It demonstrates how a venue that was built almost 100 years ago can be personal and intimate.
So, keep your eyes and ears open for the next time Jake comes to town.
Our second time seeing The Mavericks at the Carolina Theater, Durham and 14th since we saw them first in October 2021. Great show and hope they get a bass player to replace Ed so Raul can do more acoustic songs. Thank you Eddie for the guitar pick.
Beautiful venue, very friendly staff. Mavericks were great as always. Stage lighting was overly busy and could have been better and more focused on soloists. A bit weird to see Raul on bass; not sure what the story is behind that.
I have seen Tallest Man several times. He keeps getting bigger and bigger - in my eyes. It was a fantastic show to kick off the US tour and even though he's been playing with the same backing band in Europe (I think), they seemed fresh and eager to get out and play. I love it when they look like they are having fun.
KM had the same stage presence and energy, as always. He was personable, as ever. And, he put a brand new spin on his classic songs. They came around like old friends that I have not seen in awhile - a bit more aged, but with much more to tell me.
Super happy to see you guys out touring again and I loved to see the band playing so well together. I think Sex and Candy may have put you on the map but I'm a huge fan of most of the other songs you have. Great story telling and Wozniak has one of the most unique voices out there. If you haven't seen these guys, stream some of their music and get to a show. Fantastic!
Everything sounded perfect. The VIP Meet and Greet was great. Can’t wait to see the photos. The music was spot on! I loved the acoustic set of songs and the false encore. Jon and Carl filled in perfectly. And, of course Glen, Todd and Dean were great! And, this was at my favorite venue in the area! Definitely, a must-see!
Justin’s concert in Durham NC was amazing as always. Mike Dawes guitar talent has only sharpened and allowed Justin to do songs that have both acoustic and electric guitar. The live version sounds just like the original recordings! Julie Ragin can play those keys and do great back up and provide soft percussion l. Unfortunately Karman Gould was not present at this show or the show in Charlotte the next night. We decided to go last minute. We enjoyed the show all over again!! Hopefully we will see Karmen the next tour in Durham!!
These guys have been doing the best music (recorded and live) for over 50 years. Everyone should see their live show at least once. You will find that once is not enough. They put on, by far, the best concerts I have ever attended. They care about their fans too, that's another plus.
I have been listening to the album for 40+ years. I do not move as well as I did decades ago, and neither do these guys. However, they are all such pros that it was a 5 star show for me.
Whenever one can se a living rock legend( Bill Payne) it is a great idea to take advantage.
I don’t want to short opening act Amy Helm. Another tight band, true pro. If you like Feat and The Dead, give her a listen.
Awesome show. This is one of my favorite venues because of the sound and the closeness you are to the performer. Steve Hackett was no exception. Full of sounds and harmonies that just made you smile. Got to hear all of Seconds Out !!. and much more.
Great show! Brought it and made it look so effortless while still looking like he was giving you everything he had. Smooth and cool. Noah’s vocals were spot on as you’d expect. Great venue. Could have stayed and listened all night.
Pat and his two piece band of brotha s were absolutely fantastic! The best ensemble of musicians I believe he has ever been around and that is saying a lot given his massive collection of talented artist.
Love how he blended in the old stuff, offering a different spin, speed, and tempo to each song. This band I hope stays together for a long time because they are truly masters, love and appreciate Pat and the music he has created.
I will be at the Tampa show on the 20th!!!
Loved her performance! She truly is a great performer. Love her candidness and compassion. I am so glad I went....would definitely be ready to see her again! So proud she decided to go forward with this new music...what an awesome album!💕
