Royal Oak Music Theatre

Luke was amazing he took everything he learned from touring with a band and commanding a crowd and applied it to his own show, however the lighting made it really hard to see the stage he was back lit most of the time and did not include a spotlight for all but one of the songs. this venue was also far too small for him imo there was absolutely no space if you were shorter than 5’5’’ you likely couldn’t see the stage at all and with so many people packed in i watched a fan faint before luke even went on stage event staff was holding doors open on balconies to try and help but frankly it didn’t do much.

Of Mice & Men brought a new era of what to come. The band mixed new music combined with an amazing Setlist. They finished the show with a “Live at Brixton” feel including Valentino’s drum intro to “Bones Exposed” and the piano intro to “Second and Sebring”. The band gave the fans exactly what they needed. It was a taste of what’s to come mixed with the reason the fans love them. Aaron has truly stepped up as Frontman. He was all over the stage, kept the crowd engaged, while giving us the vocals of a true Metalcore frontman. Having seen Of Mice & Men several times, the rest of the band seemed to show signs of new life. The full band has been touring most of 2024 overseas and had a short run here in the States. This was their first run since 2019. Alan, Phil, and Tino brought so much excitement to the show, keeping the fans hype, and even joined fans at the merch booth after their set. I wasn’t able to meet them due to the heavy crowd they each brought with them. They truly made new fans and old fans happy with their set and meet and greet. In my opinion, Of Mice & Men stole the show again. Definite 5 Star, must see band. Watching out for a headlining tour in the near future. See you there! 🤘🏼

The wife and I were second and third in line. Between acts, the wife fainted. The Safety Team there were great and took her to a recovery room, sayinf that she'd be back in a few minutes. After 15 or so the couple behind us told me that they'd save our spots if I wanted to go back and inquire after her. Tried reclaiming our spot during the first song but couldn't reach it. Perhaps it was oversold, causing people to jam the aisleways? Had I had an assigned seat it wouldn't have been a problem. So, second and third place in line and watched it from the last row. General admission is a spartan existence. The show was great, and I enjoyed dancing to some of their classics that they didn't do the first four times that I saw them, including "Judy and the Dream of Horses" and "This Is Just A Modern Rock Song." They're always great, but I did leave wishing that they had done more songs from their last two albums. They did do a killer version of "So In The Moment," a song that has an extra layer of meaning in a live context. It could have been a better experience, sure, but, then again, so could life.

i got super close to stage and it was the best night of my life, my first concert and i got to see my favs🫶 i nearly passed out at the end of the show from screaming sm and i didn't eat all day lmao but it was so worth it. can't wait to see them again🫶

I love that I finally got to see Beartooth live! Prior to the show I was seeing a lot of comments about how they don't sound that great live. I'm just going to assume those are old comments because the sound was absolutely phenomenal last night. They worked in popular, more well known songs in with newer stuff so that those of us who love to sing along had every opportunity to belt out little hearts out. Shows like the one they put on last night (1/16/24) have such a cathartic experience. My ONLY disappointment was not being able to hear "Afterall" live, but I'm not going to fault them for not playing it. I hope I get to see them perform again in the future!

We didn't take photos because we weren't supposed to, plus I like being in the moment. The theater was great. The 1st opening act was great, 2nd guy, not as strong...David was David Spade and the reason I was there. I do wish there were screens to see his face better, because his facial expressions help sell some of the jokes. There were a lot of rude other guests who just kept getting up and down and walking up and down with no cares about interrupting others. I was so excited. Been a fan for years of David's. Getting to see him work in person was awesome.

We waited for about 25 minutes for the 7:00 show to begin. Her opening act had nearly as much time as Margaret. Perhaps she was upset because the house wasn't full. Once she began, her timing seemed off. She didn't sound like herself. And her material wasn't as sharp. I love Margaret Cho and I've seen her before, so I know how great she can be. I hope she isn't sick.

Out of the nearly 100+ Toad shows I have seen in the past 30 years, this was truly one of the most memorable and thoroughly enjoyable shows with an incredible set list. Songs spanned their entire career and highlighted some of their best known songs. Crowd had amazing energy, and everyone was friendly and interactive. The VIP experience was lovely and the Royal Oak MT is always a great place to see a show.

Most wonderful music ever written and the words the message the most beautiful way to look at life!!! I truly love the Moody Blues. Look up It’s a Beautiful Day you’ll fall in love with them also The Alan Parsons Project listen closely and feel the music and the message one more Pink Floyd they should all move one deeply.

My friend and I were one of the last people to get in, but one of the security guys on the balcony led up to the side so we could see better by the stairs. (Im 4'11" and my friend is about 5'6") The openers and of course Lovejoy were amazing and the venue was so beautiful.

A wee bit disappointed overall. We were expecting more of Home Free but the show had more of the other singers/groups both separately and together with Home Free. As good as the others were, we came specifically for Home Free who we’ve seen before. They seemed more intent on selling CDs and merchandise; almost like a 90-minute commercial.

I have seen the Feat over 80 times, from the Lowell era, to the various re-incarnations, and three times on this tour. The show was amazing and the band is tighter then ever. The joy that they have for being on stage is so very evident and Scott Sharrod and Tony Leone are amazing additions to the band. If you are one of those who thought Little Feat should have ended when Lowell George died, then you have not seen Scott play and sing. His slide work is incredible and Tony is as close to Richie that you can get. Can't wait to see what the future entails!

Charli XCX was exceptionally gorgeous💯❤💣💥 and entertaining. I drove 3 hours to another state and it was 100% worth it. She sounds Amazing and looks incredible!😁🥰 The venue was perfect size and the theatre was well kept. Staff was great. Charlie and her dancers had so much energy I couldnt believe it. She sang and danced her heart out and the crowd loved it! Played many new song and so older favorites. Wanted more!

I had front row tickets, purchased the day tickets came available. I was sick all week and chose not to go for the safety and protection of all Maverick fans, very disappointing for me and my wife. Hopefully they will come back again and give us an chance to enjoy the greatest performing group out there. John and Lafredia Palik

The Mavericks were great. Lots of energy and they looked like they were having much fun as we were. They connected with the crowd and Raul talked about the Tiger ballgame and what a shame it was that the Yankees wouldn’t pitch to Miggy during his last plate appearance of the day. The concert was all and more of what I expected.

This was a great show. I think it had been 20 years since I saw Ministry last time. I feel like the band and the crowd were a little disappointed with how the show ended. I would suggest they change up their set list. I don’t think a band should ever end with their newest music that not everyone knows as well. Put the new stuff in the front half of the set list. Open with a well known song or two, then go into new music and then finish strong with more well known songs and you will have a great show. The energy really dropped in the encore when they just played new music. Other than that it was a great show overall. Bring earplugs though because it’s a very LOUD show!

Both Maggie and Kingfish gave killer shows. I bought both Maggie's albums and a "KNG FSH" t-shirt after their respective shows. They had excellent bands backing them, too. Kingfish had to sub out his regular bass player, but you never would've guessed it had he not disclosed such at the beginning of the show. The playing was tight as a drum. I last saw Kingfish in SF when he played in a trio. Much as I loved his trio sets, Eric Robert is a wonderful addition to his band. He's a lively, energetic player who more than held his own with Ingram's virtuosity. The play as a true partnership, each handling lead and rhythm duty with equal skill when needed. I got to chat a little with both men after the show. They're great guys. Charming, engaging, and I would've loved to chat with 'em a little longer, but I avoided doing so. Touring's a harsh mistress, and they had to hit Minnesota by Wednesday. I await my next Kingfish concert with great anticipation. I'll also make a point to follow Maggie Rose as well. She's got soul, and a killer band. Thanks for introducing me to her, Kingfish. You made many new fans for her on this night.

He was amazing, took care of his fans and made the show incredible. Brought out water for fans, stopped the show multiple times to check in on people. He sat down and cried at one point telling us how much he loved us and I had never felt so loved by an artist. Amazing live!!!

Great concert and performers. Only reason I gave it a four was because of the fools that tried to push their way through to the front and us that were withing 3 or 4 rows away from stage were getting crushed some or smashed into others. A guy who had too much alcohol was rubbing up on other young girls and was rude as he pushed his way to the front of the floor area. Escorted out thank goodness. I was happy that all went well but makes for a long night with Meet and Greet was done after the concert was over and the theater was not equipped to do it right away and everything had to be reset up for it and moved around. Thank you for some great security and employees among the theater.
