The National

Circle jerks had to cancel last minute, their drummer was sick. After driving 2.5 hours to see them, my friend weren't very happy since they were the only band we were there for. Adolescents ended up making it worth while, would drive the same distance or further to see them again. Hopefully the drummer makes a full recovery and I'll be able to see them next time.

I’ve seen these guys 3 times during their career (1993, sometime in the early 2000s and again last night). They have not lost a step and have truly only gotten better with age! Unbelievable show. So much fun. I loved the way they engaged the audience throughout the show. 4 world class musicians at the top of their game. I have enormous respect for each of them individually as well as the sound they make as a band. I truly hope they keep going for many years to come!

Are you referring to Bob Margolin and the Nighthawks at the American Legion Post 108 in Cheverly, MD January 13? If so, the Venue was excellent. The food was good and the Drinx flowed freely. As per usual, Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin was outasite. With the help of and a great opening set by the NIghthawks, it was a wonderful show. Mark Wenner looked healthy, considering whatever kind of accident he must have had, and the restructured Nighthawks rocked, especially the drummer, whose vocals and drumming were fab. It was a bit of a drive from Richmond, but what the hell. I found a new venue to watch out for, and it is always a pleasure to see the Steady Rollin' Man. Bob, just come back to Richmond, or better yet, Ashland. I saw not the WNRN show at the National. I hope it was good. The National is a great venue.

An amazing show! Ben Harper is such a genuine, loving human being and it comes through in his live music, his stories he shared and the gratitude he showed the crowd. He played the hits, sprinkled in some astounding covers which I will never forget and gave the crowd their money’s worth and even more! I definitely will be seeing Ben again!

I ABSOLUTELY had a great evening!! Being a person who is ventilator and power wheelchair dependent, the staff and building were very accessible to me. They have a section dedicated for the disabled community on the first floor. I however chose to roll up as close as I could to the stage! Teddy Swims and FreakFreely were amazing. I'm still smiling and remembering the special moments throughout the evening. I will remember this show for a very long time.

Great, great show at a super venue. Been a Blackberry Smoke fan for many years but this was my first chance to see them, and I was blown away. Already looking forward to seeing them again soon. Cannot highly recommend them enough. Thanks, to the band and to the National for a heck of a time. Bravo!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Got to meet the singers for all three bands playing, Hawthorne Heights, Spitalfield, and Armor for Sleep! They are all so so nice and signed my ticket. Got center barricade only waiting outside for about three hours, we were lucky to be first in line! Loved this night. My friend and I will cherish it forever!

Performed as expected. If they were supposed to start at the 45, they were late. A pretty comedic group, especially the lead with plenty of jokes. At one point the drummer tossed his sticks. For the very last song, they let a pittie make the last chord strum which was nice. Towards the end there was a pretty long gap. A stage hand went to go investigate the drummer. The lead cracked a joke about how something must’ve broken but all was good. CTE must’ve had some kind of technical issue causing the pause. They all did fuss with their IEM quite a bit. Either it wasn’t right or, as the first concert of the tour, they weren’t used to them? They worked their asses off though, literally sweating hard enough I could see the moistness from the back forty. CTE had some great crowd interaction and the lead managed to convince someone to buy him a shot. It was strong enough that he had to take a breath. For the lead, if his tiger jacket doesn’t have ears, I’ll be so disappointed. He did announce they are releasing a new album at the end of the month. Idk if that meant March or April. I’m ready either way. Unfortunately they were not continuous with gaps between most songs for guitar change outs. The lead did pretty good at chatting to fill the gap but I felt it pretty noticeable. Maybe it was because, as the lead admitted, CTE played several songs live for the first time or the first time in a long while. I do wonder if this is the first time they’ve toured in a while because of the gaps & whatnot. Or maybe it just first show kinks? Either way, CTE was thankful to the other bands and the crowd. 100% would see them again. And I did get a tshirt & supported the puppy fund!

AJ Croce put on a terrific show, full of energy and musicality, at The National Theatre in Richmond, VA! He performed with a talented group of musicians with great resumes...and the band was clearly having fun, as well as the audience, who sang along and danced in the aisles. Croce did a perfect mix of his dad's tunes from the early 1970's (now 50 years old!), his own original tunes, and even a fantastic , soulful song he performed from the 1920's on the piano. AJ Croce is a gifted piano player, guitar player, songwriter, and vocalist in his own right. If you feel nostalgic about Jim Croce's music, but enjoy a mix of newer songs performed well, this is the concert for you!

An unforgettable night - what a concert Brian Culbertson and his team delivered! The best concert performance we have ever attended, which are many! Brian is so personable and connects with his audience continuously. Brian is truly a gifted musician - he’s the real deal! Look forward to the next time that we get to see him in concert - this was our second time seeing him. If you have the opportunity to see Brian and his team, jump on it! This was a high energy jazz, funk and fusion performance - unlike anything we have seen before!

I didn't know about Flogging Molly or Skinny Lister before the show that well. I knew of Anti Flag but not the others. I went with my friend because her and her mom love them and have seen them like five times live. Absolutely blown away by all three bands. Got in line an hour prior and was third in line and got center barricade! The accordion man for Skinny Lister was awesome, he came down right in front of me and played. The singer for Skinny Lister did the same, and then later on crowd surfed over me! Flogging Molly and Anti Flag are so so good! The guitarist for Flogging Molly handed everyone in the front row guitar picks and I got one! Awesome night!

Zeiders and Snell were excellent performers. Zeiders is selling out shows in these venues. If you don’t see him now you will miss an opportunity before he is selling out larger venues. I’m impressed that these two performers don’t glorify alcohol during their shows. They do not think it is necessary to down cans of alcohol on stage and do not encourage patrons to do the same. They simply sing and put on an impressive show. The National is a great place to see a concert. The National, hotels, and restaurants are all downtown. Stay downtown and walk to the venue. The staff were friendly. This was my first time at the National. I had never had staff offering bottles of water to patrons at a concert. That was impressive. I can’t wait to return to the National. Don’t wait, go see Austin Snell and especially Warren Zeiders in concert! You’ll regret that you did not see them when they were just beginning their careers.

What an amazing show…the band was so tight, the harmonies that they arranged were like a a cozy blanket being tossed on the crowd, breathtaking. Pitch perfect vocals, and a lyric fumble or two to let you know they’re indeed humans. The venue had a huge presence, like the bass player that thumped perfectly on beat. So good.

This was a seriously fun show. I've seen Fighting Gravity probably 15-20 times but it had been a decade since I last saw them. The high energy, fun, and positivity where all still there as if no time had passed. Schiavone McGee was as electric as ever! It was really great to hear them with a full horn section again! I can't wait to see them again.

One of the best BTE shows ever!! They played a fantastic set that everyone seemed to be having a fantastic time. Lots of singing and cheering and laughing, too!! Awesome!! The National is a great venue and parking is really close by. I only walked across the street!! I got to meet Michael Jerome, their drummer as he was walking down the street before the show, we chatted, I got a picture with him and an autograph too!!!! Five star night for sure!!!!

I got emotional when they performed their iconic anthem, Alias. I was singing the song out loud in dedication to an old friend before tearing up for the first time singing a song at a show. It hit me hard out of nowhere. The rest of the show was fantastic! Full of past, present, and future in flames songs that united the fanbase for a great night! P.S. I hope that neither wonders nor Bjorn experiences back pain issues presumably from carrying this band through thick and in. In flames we trust! 🤘🏻

Fantastic show! Already looking forward to the 21st birthday tour for Chutes Too Narrow. James Mercer is uniquely gifted as a songwriter, and along with Mark Watrous (guitar) Patti King (keyboards), Yuuki Matthews (bass) and Jon Sortland (drums), The Shins make a lasting impression. It says a lot to me that TWO families around me had selected this show to be their kids first ever concert experience. Kids and parents were ecstatic by the end of the show! Joseph was fun both as an opening act and providing back-up vocals for some of The Shins songs. If there was any negative, the merchandise options were limited, but that is splitting hairs.

The most high energy concert I have ever been to. The crowd was insane and the energy was amazing!! Still Woozy is so so so talented and interacted with the crowd super well! Amazing stage presence, and if you wait long enough after for him to come out and say hi, he is also super humble and kind :)

Honestly the Hannah Wicklund was excellent and I wished they got to play longer. The only reason it's not five stars is because she left so quick and then Marcus King Band decided to play like five different jam sessions all sounding too boring to be as engaging as Wicklund's own performance. I don't really see why they couldn't have spared some more time for her. I'm not kidding when I say Marcus King had jam sessions on stage that lasted nearly as long as Hannah's entire set. I personally think she performed better but that might just be my opinion. Excellent use of the guitar would go again for longer stage time.

Papa Roach was epic and whoever ran the sound fixed the issue from of mice and men. The national has the horrible issue of ramping up the bass so far and beyond, that it drowns out the music and kills the artist ability to be heard. It's hard rock and I know you want it to be loud but you have to be able to mix loud without drowning out your artist ability to play and be heard.
