Geoff Abrahams should have been headliner. Great energy and good catchy original songs. The Black Honkeys not so much. Good reputation. Not so much last night. Not good
Blacktop mojo crushed it every song
High energy tru to the music. Best live show I’ve been to this year.
We paid for vip early access Austin the stage manger was awesome made us feel like family .
Can’t wait till they come back to Tampa
Catch these guys in the small venue now while you can I can see big things coming from them.
Hope they don’t forget the small bars. / first
Fans,
Blacktop Mojo’s energy and live performances are unmatched. The concert itself was awesome, as usual!! It was hot and humid as could be outside, but it was worth the sweat! The staff at Skippers is great. If there were a few more outdoor fans in summer it might help though? But we were enormously grateful for the fans they did have.
Great venue. Only thing that would make it better is if there were table service outside. If picnic tables were returned 90° would also help so you don't have to turn your neck or straddle, the seat. I'm sure there's probably a reason but just my thoughts on my first visit. Bands were all great. Staff were great. Food was great. No complaints, just rambling.
My first time seeing Danielle Nichole live and she delivered. Sound was perfect, band was good, and Danielle showed off her vocal prowess. The venue, Skippers Smokehouse has a great vibe and provides an intimate concert experience.
Such an amazing show from start to finish. The venue was nice including the food and drink. Danielle and her opening band were great. I’ve listened to her since Trampled Under Foot but have never heard her live. I rave about her voice and hoped she would be as good live; I was not disappointed. I would highly suggest this show!
Hayes and band were amazing! Skippers is always great after you find a parking spot. It was a capacity crowd that appreciated the great sounds. Thanks to the Skippers crew for a great event!
Amazing solid country gold show from Smokey Jones and crew. They played lots of great music from Toby Keith to Waylon Jennings and more. They did not even take a break and kept the music going for over two hours with upbeat energy the entire time. I was very impressed with them and their original songs were fantastic as well. I can’t wait to see them again!
Eric is a musician with a unique sound all his own. His music comes from the heart and quite often from life experiences that makes it so real. Another great show. I will see him again and again when he plays in a town near me.
Good stuff. Good live band with a thought provoking lyricist. Real s**t. Set was a bit too long for my taste but then again I’m not a diehard who knew most of the songs. Good people though.
I love his albums and his songwriting, wasn’t sure how the live show would be, but it was excellent! For a guy who doesn’t smile and doesn’t move much he’s got a natural ability to engage an audience, and his band is tight!
Despite bad weather and a semi- outdoor event Selwyn and the boys went on-stage and did another amazing concert. They played straight through without a break. My favorite song was the last one that featured his new mobile lapsteel from Caladesi Guitars.
He’s a great artist and songwriter and even better performer. Played for 2 1/2 hours! I thought of Springsteen! He did one song with no amplification - just him and his voice and it was a cool move, in the end. At first it seemed like a mistake… Then everybody stopped even a whisper - the place quieted down to making no noise at all, and all we could hear was the rain, his voice and the guitar. A very risky move that turned out really well.
Red Wanting Blue put on another amazing show last night. The band sounded great and the guest violin player was a nice addition. Kristopher James as the opener got things off on the right foot.
Awesome as always!!! COLD night outside at Skippers but so was last year. Never felt it due to ditch digging all night!! 😂 DEFINITELY will go see them again and again!!! Such a FUN night!!
Eric is one cool a*s blues cowboy will some New Orleans funk sprinkled in. He’s got a fantastic voice you really can’t get enough of. The songs and grooves will keep you dancing all night long. I see him every single time he comes to town. ❤️
Still as awesome as they were in 1994, 2014, and 2018. First time seeing them at Skipper’s Smokehouse. It was cold but warm atmosphere and hot cider drinks made it comfortable and fun!
Chilly night in Tampa, but a hot band to listen to. We bundled up for an outdoor concert at the Skipperdome and saw a fine show from the great Marcia Ball and her band. Mike Schermer on guitar, Michael Archer on bass, Eric Bernhardt on sax, and Mo Roberts on drums. They played for about 90 minutes on a windy night with temps in the low 50s, while most of the audience was dancing to keep warm. Good show well worth the price of admission.
Drove up from Sarasota to see Sean , the two sets he played were great ! If you want real tight blues music Sean and his band deliver all the time! Todd Cook has to be one of the best bass players in America! Rick seems to have found a comfort zone with the band and the new drummer holds everything together! Sound system at Skippers never fails ! Great night.
