What an amazing performance. Like most in the audience I'd seen her before, the first time in 1977 opening for Jackson Brown at old Hoch Auditorium in Lawrence before it burned down. Her show is still tight and fresh with an entertaining mix of old and new songs. John Cleary was a fantastic opening act. I need to see more of him! All in all t was Cool to see her pack the Midland with us grey hairs on a Sunday night, Kansas City's most beautiful venue.
Another unforgettable performance by this wonderful artist - Sarah Brightman. It's the second time I've been fortunate to be in the audience, this time only 5 rows back center stage. A beautiful venue and the accompanying choir and band were excellent. Venue parking was very inexpensive so kudos to the Midland team for that.
This was an exceptional concert! The opening act that was advertised as country rock, kicked things off right by rocking the house and getting the crowd amped up for Skillet who came out and smacked us right in the face with their hard hitting rock and incredible light show, preparing us for Seether who didn’t disappoint! They played mostly the songs we know, recognize, relate to and love so can’t help but fist pump, play our air guitars to or sing along with, lol! They rocked the house!!! The only thing I was disappointed about was that they didn’t play “Same Damn Life”! I love that song (and video, lol). Otherwise it was one fantastic concert!
My face was melted off! This is the best show I have been to in a long time. I was blown away. I have been a huge fan since 2006 and finally I was able to see one of my all time favorites. Thank you so much for a fantastic show. 💚
A fantastic concert with phenomenal musicians Peter Frampton is definitely one of the top 10 all-time rock 'n' roll guitarist. The guy can really play.
While his voice isn't 25 years old anymore, he still does a great job of playing his hits and you wouldn't even notice. He played some Humble Pie as well and it was about a 3 hour show. I would like him to banter with the crowd more but this show was a 10!
This was by far the most beautiful show I have ever attended. I mean what a show! Each instrument wasn't like they were being played but as if they were weeping! Gregory & his band know how to put on a show. I will definitely be seeing him again! Just bring some tissues! I love the Midland Theatre it's makes me laugh and smile, I also feel very welcomed and never stressed! 10/10 on EVERYTHING! The crowd was very chill, quite, & probably my favourite venue ever. The staff always calm as well. What a night. What a show! ( this photograph is the view from the front of the Chandelier Bar )
Sabrina was amazing! Beautiful show! The venue was spectacular, staff was super nice and it was a wonderful experience just walking in the place! Sold out show and the venue didn’t look crowded one bit, so great for a person with claustrophobia like me! I’ll definitely be back! The only thing that I didn’t like was the crowd, they were WAY too loud, I could hardly hear the show but overall it was definitely worth it!
The only complaint I had is that the tower she stands on was on the left side of the stage which made it harder to see her because she was mostly by the mirror and she didn't really interact with the left side
But she was great and I love her sm!
Great show! Solid mixture of newer music and classic favorites. He told stories while introducing songs. His voice and the band were solid and in sync. The show started with a 30-minute film connecting his music to his favorite movies. With such an amazing songwriter, I loved the opportunity for more insight into his inspiration. My only wish was that portion of the show would've been louder so I could hear better over the people still finding their seats. I loved the music from beginning to end, and the venue - Midland Theater, KC - was a terrific location for this concert! I would recommend this concert to fans of great music and songwriting.
The bad... it was the least "Christian" Skillet concert we have ever been to. John normally preaches a little bit but not this time. Theory of a Deadman has a lot of profanity in their songs.
The good... Saint Asonia was really good. They should be the opening band for Skillet. This concert was full of music! I think between all the bands, around 30 songs were played. I think that was why there wasn't any time for talking about Jesus.
Advice... listen to Theory of a Deadman before you buy tickets. But still a pretty decent show!
Love the energy of Skillet always! Venue was awesome per usual && TOAD is always a good time! It was a treat to hear Saint Asonia unaware of their history BUT the lighting for Saint Asonia was kind of annoying! There was a blinding spotlight at the opening that kinda killed the intro. Other than that 10/10 would recommend :D
However….It was a bit too loud/distortion worked against hearing the lyrics. Have seen AB about a dozen times…this time sound needed to be adjusted a little. The unplugged sounded great as always but overall MKs voice levels appeared to be distorted. Still my fav band and when it’s my turn to pass this life into heaven I won’t be hearing angels and harps….it’ll be MK singing !! The man is the best in the business hands down/full-stop!!! Who’s better…Michael Jordon or Lebron James?? Doesn’t matter…..Miles Kennedy is THE BEST in the business and may be one of the best of ALL TIME! Truly Greatness!
Amazing show, as usual. Pistols at Dawn opened. Did a great job. I will be checking out their music. Mammoth WVH was amazing. Great musicians, great energy. Amazing voice on Wolf! Alter Bridge never disappoints. With one ear plugged to minimize distortion I could really hear what was going on. Mark Tremonti is just the best....they all rock. Love their attitude and messages. See you next time in Kansas City!
It was a fantastic night of amazing rock. These guys know how to serve it up. It’s crazy how much Wolfgang looks like Eddie but I grew up watching Eddie so I’m a little old-school, but Wolfgang can stand on his own, he’s very talented and has a powerful voice. Looking forward to what this band produces in the future because so far, it’s pretty kick ass.
Once again, the Piano Guys did not disappoint. They presented a wonderful show, enjoyed by all.
The only downside is the lack of safety on the steps. The Midland is a beautiful venue with so much history; however, the lack of railings on the steep steps makes it really dangerous. We saw one woman fall as she was going down the steps and I would have as well, had I not been behind my husband.
Laroi was awesome however the opener it was very hard to understand him. He was really good at getting the crowd ready for Laroi but the sound was not good at all. I don’t believe that was his fault but it definitely put a damper on him. Laroi was fantastic and was very interactive with the crowd.
Oh my goodness what a fun concert. Leanne is very funny. Totally enjoyed the whole evening. The only bad thing of the whole evening was trying to find my seat. The Midland does not label any of the sections or the rows it was very difficult to find where I was supposed to sit
Awesome show. LP was amazing as expected. Just three things could’ve made it 5/5:
1. Less laser light in the audience’s eyes. It was hard to see with so much intense light continually shining in our faces.
2. On one song they cranked the bass so high that it nearly made us sick.
3. $17 is too much for a 19 oz can of Tank 7. $13 for the Blvd Wheat. A shot of Bulleit bourbon is also $17.
Absolutely phenomenal, as always. My fiancé, who isn’t a concert junkie like I am, said that they impressed him because they sounded better than the album, were tight and polished sounding, great set design — an awesome experience!
The one thing I will mention is that they do actually start on time or very close to it - don’t be late or you’ll miss a chunk of the show!
Amazing!!! I’ve waited so long to see her. I missed her the last time she toured with Maxwell I was in college and couldn’t come home. It was well worth the wait thank you for everything you do Jill Scott!!! LIVE MUSIC! LIVE MUSIC! LIVE MUSIC! #Whoisjillscott #20years #golden #philly #neosoulisnotdead
