A great performance by one of the best jazz guitarists.
Norman and his band were solid.
My criticism is with the venue, not the band. The beginning of the performance was plagued by a sound setup that was much too loud. The volume on the drum set was way too high to the point that the sound of the cymbals drowned out the rest of the band.
Later on in the show, everything was eventually all leveled to a volume that sounded good, but I've seen other artists perform here and this didn't happen to them.
The Tab Benoit show at The Vogel was excellent! There is no bad seat at the Vogel at Count Basie in Red Bank. Tab is a great performer and we have seen him a few times. He can play the blues like no other and can tell some great funny stories!
Justin Hayward was wonderful! Sounded great,,,, good variety of songs, ,,, clear vocals, good stage presence, amusing anecdotes ,,,, great show! His performance gets the five stars.
Co-bill with Christopher Cross however was disappointing. Cross has talented back-up singers and musicians who are given MUCH too much leeway to totally overpower his vocals and music.
Total volume was fine, but all you could hear was musicians to the point where the songs were unrecognizable. I'm glad Cross came on second - we left before his set was over.
Show was terrific. Justin voice was fantastic. He's still got it. The playlist was great but wnet by too fast. Was disappointed that he went on first since he was the headliner. The crowd was there to see him. He should have been the closer.
Too much stand up bass & Not enough (Slap-Pluck) funk on standard bass, he hardly picked it up.
Only played the "School Days" main riff & none of the iconic solo bars, even though the crow was screaming for school days though out.
The Drummer & Violinist were top notch, Horn were good, Keyboard & Guitar were lack luster.
Mind you I'm mainly Blues-Rock kind of guy, last 12 show were Buddy Guy (3), Eric Gales (3), Kenny Wayne Sheppard (2), Robert Cray, Quinn Sullivan & Cristone "Kingfish" Ingram.
Sound quality was great as always at the Vogel.
Great place to see a show!A VERY good band that played a non stop,zero break two and a half hour show. Lots of bang for your bucks. I drove 2 hours to see the show and it was worth it. I will travel that far or more to see them again
It was fantastic... Again!
My third time seeing Peter since 2019. And every time I walked away with a big smile. He puts on a great show. He can still sing and play like he did before! And Peter has such a sense of humor! As long as he's still playing, I'm still going to see him!
My husband and I saw him and his band at the Count Basie and he was fantastic! It was a birthday present from my husband. We really enjoyed every minute of it. We hope to see another concert in the near future.
It was a truly awesome and incredible show. America is my all-time favorite band. I have been following them since the very beginning. This was a bittersweet show for me as it's the last time I'll see them this year. Gerry, Dewey, Rich, Steve, and Ryland - you guys rock!
This show was everything I could have expected and more. Ron Dante was awesome with Sugar Sugar. Little Anthony unbelievable. I went bc of Gary Puckett and he was phenomenal!!!! He’s still got it after all these years. I just wish I could have been closer. I got the ticket the day they were on sale , maybe someday. But it was AWESOME!!!!

Count Basie Theater has undoubtedly never seen such an enthusiastic and passionate audience, and it was evident that fans were truly enjoying the experience. New Found Glory's performance was truly a once-in-a-lifetime event that should not be missed. Incredible! Haven’t missed a tour since 2000, and I can say with the utmost confidence, they’ve still got it!!!! We missed Chad, of course, but they played jams from all their albums, not just the latest one, and the show wasn’t entirely acoustic! Thanks, NFG!!! As always, another awesome show! 🥹❤️🔥🤘🏼😎

The show as solid even though the opener was a tad weak. Mark did his standard hour with fun topics, not too raunchy, stated in his lane. I respect his willingness to solicit ideas from the audience which is daring! Not sure the Vogel is optimal for comedy but not a bad seat in the house. Since the early show was sold out why not a late show which is preferred
TTB never disappoints. Never have I seen a band where all 12 members could very well be the centerpiece of their own band, lol and in some cases probably already have been. The talent is unmatched. Their passion for music is only surpassed by our desire to hear and watch them play. GREATEST BAND IN THE LAND!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Always a great show . I did feel Jorma held back a bit maybe too many days back to back . The man is almost 81 , Happy Bday Jorma in a few weeks . Roads and Roads Highlight for me last night . Rest of the set was the usual suspects .Jack was fire as usual .
Last saw them around 1995 at William Paterson. Still great, still remembered most of the lyrics.
BUT - 1 hr 15 min??? Really??? That was not a way to celebrate Throwing Copper and this band’s white hot run from the 90s. Sorry.
They did play quite a few songs spanning their career and the show was early on in the tour schedule and to be honest they sounded kind of sloppy or off key on a number of songs and some songs that are powerful on CD or record didn't come off that powerful.. such as promised you a miracle.. seen them I guess what I call now is there a day in the past and they weren't quite is good this time around yet at the same time I'm happy to have seen them...
Awesome. Never saw them. Hardly knew their work. I knew about half a dozen tunes. Their musicianship, art and entertainment was right up there with some of the best rock shows I’ve ever seen. Finally, the only thing better than their first set was their second.
Half a star less than 5 only because whenever I opened my eyes Jerry, Bobby and boys weren’t actually there! This was my first DSO show and I had my premature doubts. I mean it’s basically a Dead cover band right? Not so as I was proven wrong. These guys are masters. To be able to play and capture live Grateful Dead as perfect as this band does is both amazing and a masterful accomplishment. The crowd certainly helped the experience as we all simply relived a Garcia-led Dead show because it’s just that close to those wonderful past experiences. The music, collaboration and chemistry was perfect and each musician reminds you of the original cast. Their individual, integral unique contributions reflect the playing mannerisms of the legendary musicians.
Last night I spent quite a bit of time closing my eyes and wandering into the past with nothing short of an ear to ear grin. It’s probably unnecessary to say but it will not be my last DSO.
Ps. They played the 11/5/1979 Philly Spectrum show (to the tee unless the Bobby flub wasn’t a reacted flub).
