Crest Theatre

What a phenomenal show! They dipped into a range of Pat Metheny's songbook as well as his newest material and did it all justice. Never a dull moment. Sometimes dancing on the edge of difficult jazz riffs like a tight-rope walker - but always landing beautifully. It was exciting watching five superb musicians at the top of their game. To call the experience "thrilling" is woefully inadequate. This is a joy ride you want to buy the ticket for.

A very different concert experience, it was the first time I’ve ever had an artist quit the show before its completion. Ryan was in the middle of a song when he abruptly quit performing because he said too many people were talking and he was tired. Earlier, he was annoyed when someone from the audience yelled out his ex’s name and he went off on a 15 minute rant. Overall, I enjoyed the acoustic performance and Ryan’s banter with the crowd

The show started an hour later than it was scheduled to and we couldn't get to our seats until 30 minutes before we started so we were all crammed in this tiny lobby for quite some time. That could more on the venue though. Cat was awesome. Really liked her acoustic stuff. All in all a really good show and it was great seeing her in an intimate setting

My expectations were low because I just didn't see how one member of The Moody Blues even if it was the key member could make it that much of a memorable event. But I've always loved Justin Hayward and I knew it might be my last chance to see him. I would rather see him with John Lodge but apparently they've said they would never tour again. Of course many groups say that and then end up doing it so Never Say Never. I went with my sister who was not a big Moody Blues fan and she ended up a huge fan. It was truly a wonderful event and it went on a long time and he wanted it to go longer but I think the venue shut him down after the third encore. He did all the big songs or most of the ones you would want him to do and he had some great backup including a vocalist from back in the day, another guitar player who was really good and opened for the show, and someone else I believe that I can't remember right now. His vocals of course aren't the same as they were back in the day but he can still hold his own once he gets going. He's still very charismatic and endearing. I would go see him anytime after this experience. Five stars.☆☆☆☆☆♡

Superb show with exceptional musicians that are artists in their own right. Justin Hayward was, of course, the voice of the Moody Blues which I have followed and admired over the years. The set list did not disappoint bringing back a wave of memories as well as some newer songs that will surely become some of my favorites.

Justin’s remark about music in one’s youth as the defining experience is spot on judging by my boomer contemporaries in the audience. A treat to hear so many of his songs, especially those he said were his favorites but not on the hit charts. So much love in the audience and reflected back in Justin & his band’s performance. The medley: The day we meet again/one lonely room/out and in/in my world/meanwhile brought me to tears. And Question of course. I hope we meet again in Sacramento.

I am almost without words! He was fantastic and beyond!❤️❤️ Being a senior citizen, I have to be careful about money. I am a Smokey Robinson fan to the T and usually I just go see Smoke. But I have added Brian to my must see list. He had my 77 year old husband doing the boogie! What a great night we had. Be sure to tell him thank you for us and we will see him again. Hopefully the next time around, I can my grown kids and teenage grandkids! They will love it!❤️ Hugs and stay safe. Keep playing!! Mary Ann Carlton

I've been waiting to see Pat Metheny since 1972. He didn't let me down. I've been a fan of his music forever. He played an amazing collage of his music and was accompanied by some of the most talented musicians I've ever seen and heard. I'm awaiting his return to the Sacramento area.

Well, it was a good show all in all. The theater itself was a great venue, & nice acoustics too! Enjoyed listening to The Empty Pockets perform for the first 1/2 hour by themselves only. But then, after the intermission, was nice to see Al Stewart perform with them all together. He's also quite a humorous storyteller as well!! I had never attended one of his concerts before, but had long wanted to do so, (was glad wife & I were able to have the opportunity to enjoy the experience).

Wonderful Concert. Tab is an amazing guitar player. He is so exciting and absolutely spreads! Cory is a great bass player and a complete showman! The partnership for 30 yrs shows! The drummer pi’s perfectly straightforward. Keeps it going the whole show. What a great concert, 5 Stars!

The show was pretty great. Wasn't too thrilled about the usher stopping me from filming. C'mon man? Al's heyday is long gone. I did get one song filmed. Wasn't even my goal. People should know what to expect for their money. Crowd was great. Average age was 70, I'd say. His story about the end of Mediterranean Sundance is B.S. They rushed through it so fast that I left before they finished. Sadness because the rest of the show was fairly spot on. One song from Elegant Gypsy was MS. Another sadness seeing as that's what sold the most. Whatever...

Sam was great! The guy is just genuinely hilarious. Riffed on a number of topics and had funny observations one after another. Dealt with some clown in the audience with ease. His opener I had seen before too and he was funny as well. Well worth a visit!

I really love the theater. It was very ornate and gorgeous. I love the smaller more intimate venues, so it was perfect. Mike love who opened for Stephen Marley was absolutely incredible. He had me in tears a few times from the beauty and love he was giving. Before Stephen took the stage they burnt sage in a pot. 🫶🏻 very healing beautiful energy!

Livingston Taylor is such a joy. He's very talented, much like his brother and he is also a wonderful storyteller. The show was fabulous. It was very sparcely attended, which kind of broke my heart for the performers but he was so gracious. If you have a chance, go see him live. It truly is a treat.

An amazing guitarist and a great band. Kenny Wayne gives a show that drives the crowd out of their seats and up to the edge of the stage. The songs from “blue on black” to the Hendricks covers all the way to the latest music run the emotions and joy of music unlike any other. This is a group to go see any night.

Jackie Green and the rest of the band were just outstanding! I had never heard of him until recently and I was just amazed on how talented this man is!! Thank you Jackie Green and band for one of the best New Year’s Eve I’ve had!!!

Great to see that he is embracing young virtuosos and giving them exposure. I loved the diversity brought through the inclusion of the tabla and violin. The joyful interplay and competition among the performers brought fun and interest. I appreciated the time he spent on standup and his eclectic song list. The audience's enthusiasm was obviously appreciated by Stanley and his band.

At 71 years, Dennis DeYoung prides himself in singing all the songs in their original keys, and I have to say he’s still got it! While it’s truly sad he isn’t with Styx, his band is nothing to sneeze at. They opened with the entire Grand Illusion album, while the 2nd set was Styx’s greatest hits. No Dennis solo tunes this time around, but what a night!
