Absolutely amazing live. Very talented muso’s and the singer was in point even with some very difficult notes and melodies.
best show I’ve been to in 2023. Amazing sound and extremely talented!
Fantastic show, very high energy crowd. Even with the slight delay due to technical difficulties, everyone remained hyped for Taylor to come on. The merch was all amazing, and I got a signed poster which I will also cherish forever
One of the most fun shows you’ll ever see,
Great show Models delivered as usual with old favourites like 2cabs to the Toucan and Happy Birthday IBM through to later songs Gravity and Hold On. Will definitely see this legendary lineup again next tour.
Great venue, great atmosphere, Bad Manners were excellent, such a fun night. Lots of dancing and singing. 😊
Voyager put on a cracking show. Will be seeing them next time. Highly recommend!
Incredible! 18 years since Frente! last played The Zoo and it was a Seamless performance from Angie Hart + Simon Austin and some new Ordinary Angels sharing the stage: Tamara Murphy, Sophie Koh and Ben Wiesner.
The addition of Sally Seltman and her glorious songs and story telling as the first act for the night, complimented the show and with Sally recounting a story of playing a Frente! song at school, it was reaffirmed in that moment what most in this audience knew, Marvin the album - which we would hear in its entirety tonight - with incredible songwriting from Austin & Hart as well as Tim O’Connor and Mark Picton, plus a wide range of sonic influences, is an Indie Pop gem which permeated the musical landscape 3+ decades ago and has stood the test of time since.
Rather than having No Time, after the 25 song set, the Most Beautiful Angie and Simon mingled with the crowd, some of whom travelled from one side of the country to the other to share the Air with this band, a Testimony to the magic of Frente!
best show I’ve been to in 2023. Amazing sound and extremely talented!
Absolutely amazing,!! 100% going again when they come back to Australia.
Fantastic night. Can't wait for them to come to Aus again.
This was a night of firsts for me. This was the first time for me to see Marianas Trench live and it was also the first time for me to attend a gig at The Zoo.
And it was more than what I imagined in the best of ways.
The venue was perfect. It felt really intimate and safe (considering it looked so dodgy from the outside but it really isn't). I enjoyed the atmosphere of it. The stage size and set up, to me, was perfect and really has a way of closing the distance between the audience and the band/artist in the safest way. Before the show even started, I forwarded The Zoo Instagram profile to a friend of mine in the US as a recommendation should him and his band decide to have a show in Brisbane hopefully sometime in the future. I would definitely attend a gig here again.
Now if you are a fan of Marianas Trench (casual or die hard), I highly recommend seeing them perform live at least once because it is an experience you should have in this lifetime! I was floored and the energy was electric from start to finish. The band's interaction with and reaction to the audience made for such a magical night! Everything for me was extraordinary! I cannot wait for them to come back! And I can tell you one thing, listening to Josh Ramsey sing his heart out live is something truly wondrous. Hearing the whole band harmonize in real life, before my eyes, feeling it reverberated through my whole body, is something that will forever bring a smile to my face whenever I remember it. They are worth the wait.
I cannot praise this night enough (and probably always will).
Awesome set.
The lads were in fine form after finally being able to play the postponed gig at iconic Brisbane venue "The Zoo".
I was able to watch the Riggs (as well as support "Blue Savannah Underworld") from the side of the stage, which was a pleasant surprise.
The opening three tracks were from the most recent release, "Modern Pressure", but the guys mix up their setlist with tracks from all four albums to date, "America" from their debut album "Hex.Lover.Killer" the song that confirmed me as a fan when I saw them play this track whilst opening for Kasabian way back in 2014.
An awesome cover of The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" has everyone in full voice, before new song "Sunshine Dancing" and "Baddest Muthaf**ker in the Beehive" keeps the rockin' party vibe going.
Fan favourites "Supersonic Casualties" and "Never Seen This Before" close the emphatic hour set, with set encore "Bright as the Sun" bringing an end to a glorious night of music and entertainment.
I was able to party with the band and the support after the gig as well. You couldn't find five more down to earth lads who clearly put a lot of time and effort into the production of their live show, which is high octane energy every time I've seen them play live.
An absolute belter. A true 5 star performance from go to whoa. What a fkn show.
Absolutely amazing show, Seth popped off like always, and was an absolute crowd pleaser! Always love seeing my boy perform can't wait for him to come back again
Both such incredible & inspiring artists.. it’s such a blessing to be serenaded by their sweet essence and passion for music🕊♥️
Amazing!! Even better than I anticipated. Tay and Felipe are such sweet souls and got the crowd feeling happy, comfortable and alive 🤘 would definitely recommend to others and would also go again.
Should have been 5 stars. The band's were awesome and deserved a 5 star rating but the venue was shit. I will never go to the zoo again. It was hot as hell in there. Tiny venue, no aircon, a couple of tiny fans, and over 600 people. Atreyu deserved better.
it finished after the last train went so i missed the end of the set and my favourite song 😭
Great concert. Would have loved the volume of Peter Murphy's mix to have been louder. Awesome to see David J on board.
