Not sure if there’s any other band that puts forth as much energy and enthusiasm as Powerman5000. That being said, this was my 4th show in as many years and the setlist hasn’t changed. Yes, they play their “hits” but they have so many other good songs as well as a recent album. Songs such as “V is for Vampire” and “Free” are just as solid songs as their others. Hoping they don’t have the mentality that touring is an easy cash grab.
One of the most Memorable and bad A shows, I've been waiting to see it was so worth it. I've been waiting to see this band since I was 13, I was blessed enough and gifted VIP tickets for my birthday and when the time comes for Wednesday to come back to Denver. I will definitely be going again, If you get a Chance to go VIP, do it because he is one of the nicest humble people I've ever met I would highly recommend.
Kinda meh. Not sure if it was the lack of acoustics, the ridiculously small stage, piss poor sound guy/system or all of the above, but this show was underwhelming. You could tell she was hitting notes, but couldn't really hear her articulate words. The opener was the same way. I've seen Dorothy at a festival at it was much better.
Monèt X Change is such a bad ass drag queen. I have seen so many Drag Race queens solo shows and Monèt was one of the best I have ever seen. This show is getting amazing critic buzz for a reason. She is so incredibly funny and so incredibly multi talented. She left me begging for more. Now I am just itching to see her again as soon as possible. What a outstanding show.
His opener was funny as well very witty and relatable well timed punch lines. So relatable, so animated, so funny! I've cried laughing with his specials he has made in the past, first time seeing him live, I was not at all disappointed. He was so funny and looked so comfortable up on stage, but was also original, and I'm sure each show he is original. Will be attending the next time he comes to Denver guaranteed!
OMG! Zoso was spot on. What an amazing show! I couldn’t believe the talent. I was blown away. Such an amazing show. I was and still am mind- blown by the performance. The passion literally showed on each of their faces as they were performing! I hope we get to see Zoso again and soon in Denver. It was a magical experience! I was literally weak in my knees and just literally made my heart so happy to see this show! Incredibly sexy show! Thank you, Zoso! Thank you, Oriental for bringing this show to town. Much gratitude!
Omg! I am such a fan, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen so many bands, so many shows and met a few members at a few shows, been backstage and 10 years is way at the top with performance, lights and energy. I can’t wait for you to come back to Denver. I would love a meet and greet! Thank you so much for a great show and can’t wait for the next one
Fantastic performance by TKK!!! I brought my son with me to this show (yes I'm old...) and we both had a great time! Such positive energy and vibes from the band and the entire crowd that night! I was able to get down there early and meet up with Groovie Man before the show! We sat out on the side of the venue talking as he was signing a few albums for about an hour before Buzz beckoned him to get back stage to start getting set up. Super friendly soul the Groove Dude has! I will relish our conversation forever on brother. "YOU'RE ONE OV US!"
His voice was shot, the tracks were muted, and the bass kept kicking in too high and then getting turned down so quiet you couldn't hear it. They cut the encore, but left stage lights on and doors closed for like five minutes so everyone waited and cheered and then got disappointed. All in all the weakest IAMX show I've attended
This theater is very cool. It could use a little maintenance, but there is some seating for us older folk that need to sit down occasionally. There is a bunch of cool restaurants around there and it is not far from Downtown Denver. Stryper was AWESOME and performed like it was 1986 again. They played a set filled with old and new stuff. it was just so good,
They were amazing live, an energy impacted show. From Will on drums hitting every beat, on point. Dan and Alex laying down those guitar riffs. Chrissy is a ball of fire flying from end to end of the stage to the other. Even in the Mile High air they gave their all, And it showed. So glad I was there to experience it first hand. Thank you Against The Current band and crew, you all were amazing.
My son and I went to this show. We have a wonderful new memory together! The Oriental Theater was a nice venue. It wasn't too crowded, and parking was not too difficult either.
Katatonia was absolutely awesome. They played for about 1.5 hours. Also got to see Cellar Darling and The Ocean Collective. They were awesome too!! They got a friendly mosh pit going, but I didn't want to give up my spot in the FIRST ROW!! Everybody had a good time.
The only complaint I have about English bands is they don't interact much with their fans before or after the shows. Mexican bands often greet fans after the show. I know you can't meet everybody, but at least *try* to show some interest in your fans:-)
Bob Rocked!....as he always does...perpetually 19 years old on stage!
Main act and opener traveling the country with a single Fender 15" speaker amp and one mic.....so punk rock!
Only downside was the Napoleon Staffer who tried hard to push me out right before Bob came to the Merch table to sign my purchased LPs. Oriental Theater: train your young staff to respect the artists and their long-time supporters.
Amazing show. Amazing bands. I got there in the middle of Angel maker’s set! They were pretty good. I do wish this concert was held at the summit instead. Or somewhere where the concert floor was straight up flat… instead of just a bunch of levels… the venue itself was meh. But other than that. Had a great time!
Mostly really fun
Music was on point 80% of the time. The playlist got a bit off the beaten path closer to the end of the night (screamo and obscure) Weird that a bunch of random people were on the stage; didn’t seem to serve a purpose but fun overall.
Liked that songs could be requested, but would have liked to do this much more ahead of time.
The DJ didn’t interact all that much or do much with the crowd; would have liked more of that as well.
PT won the night, again. These guys are “next”. And they are ready. I’ve been a thrash metal fiend for 35+ years and the sound of this band draws me in. I will make a point to see them anytime they tour through or near town. Lyrics are incredible, aggressive sound with crunching riffs, and fucken fantastic live. See this band, support them and buy their merch (hoody feels awesome btw).
Icon For Hire stoke the show and was amazing. I hope to see them do a all female song with In This Moment, Halestorm, New Years Day and/or with The Pretty Reckless; that would be very empowering for women that deserve to be seen as equals in the music industry. Plus the girls on that went on stage I commend them and if any of them desire to be musicians, Ariel is one of many great icons/ role models to look up to. Look forward to seeing you next year. I like the music so much I was determined to make it whether I broke my fever or not, luckily I was good enough to drive but huge headaches, but still loved the show... Peace love and soul to the music.
Absolutely epic show. I highly recommend that anyone who has an opportunity to see the Hu, go! Seriously. No matter what kind of music you like, or who you're with, they put on an amazing show that will stay with you regardless of social or cultural locations. Can't wait to see them again! 5 stars & two big thumbs up!!!!
Tight, good set that was too short because of Failure coming next. Seemed like everyone was having fun playing. So good to hear Sandblasted live again. Swervedriver is kinda in revival, the new albums are pretty damn good with some excellent songs. The bass was physical, the drums pinned the clouds of guitar down. Swervedriver are incredibly loud- it’s the basis of the layers of sound (and a basic feature of all shoegaze/noise/Mould influenced music.) I can’t believe people in 2019 complain about how loud it was. Earplugs are good these days, use them.
This was by far one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time! This was also my son’s first live concert, which made this night really special!!! VNV will bring tears to my eyes every time. I’d like to say thank you to two ladies that I met that really made my boy’s night special. Thank you Rayanna and Katlynn. If there is anything I can do to return the favor, contact me! erick.madhatter@aol.com
