Mohawk Austin

Fun! Total party! Loses stars because it went on long. I was ready to leave when others were shouting "One more song!", and the final-final song was very long and monotonous. I'm not versed in of Montreal's discography enough to recognize the song either, so I couldn't get its particular appeal. It was also 87°F. Tiring and hot, for sure. People started very-suddenly rushing from behind me to mosh at the end, so I was hit in the back of the head. Ouches... my dad had fun moshing at least. I'm sad the last minutes of the concert weren't so pleasant for me. The good parts! The awesome ninja-dancers that came on stage wore amazing costumes, and the set changes were really cool! Loved when the crowd would all jump and jam to particularly groovy songs. It genuinely felt like being at some sort of celebration. Many people in the audience had cool hair. "The Party's Crashing Us" and "We Will Commit Wolf Murder" made everyone very excited. Sloppy Jane played before of Montreal, and they were amazing too! I loved their storytelling and the contrast between orchestra and "trashy" aesthetics. The lead singer coming into the audience was really exciting. My dad complains about the lead singer not wearing a bra because it made him feel perverted watching her. I figured it's part of her character.

Wow what a great show. The songs are great, the band is as tight as could be, and Jessica’s voice is stunning and as colorful as could be…. Sweet, s**y, and just a great talent. See her now while you still have a chance to hear her in front of 100 people. One day, I think you will be sitting with 20,000 others!!!!

It was an incredible performance and it felt intemete because the stage was so small. Its really amazing how Gogol Bodello manages to sound so together with so many people. It was extra special because they has a marching band. And they played songs from their new album sooo awesome to make new memories with the new songs.

Honestly wish it was longer also I know it’s probably back to back moving around so it’s probably exhausting but maybe just wish like he seem a little more like he wanted to be there, though the crowd could’ve been giving a lot more, overall great show, definitely love to see again in the future

I couldn’t come because Don Broco didn’t want to cancel or reschedule the show for Austin and tried to have us drive out on the icey roads. No refunds either. Then they cancelled Dallas and refunded even though Austin and Houston shows had to deal with the first few days of the snow and deal with the worst of it. I hope to see these guys in the future and I know I would’ve enjoyed seeing them!

The Haunt!!! What a brother sister Duo! They work so well together to keep the crowd going Anastasia’s voice is amazing and even better from the front row! Loved chatting with them after the show as well just an absolute pleasure to speak with and I just hope I get the chance to see them again soon!

Chezni was AMAZING!!! Really can’t wait to watch her career blossom and I hope I get to meet and talk with her again! The rest of the band was also so kind and fun to chat with! Absolutely amazing stage presence and great vibes all around during their set 10/10 would rock with these aussies again!

unwound has always held a special place in my heart. they were one of the first out of town bands coming through my hometown in '94, and blew all of us punk rock kids in the middle of nowhere trying to star a scene out of the water. anyway, the last time i saw them was in '96 in seattle, so when i saw they were getting back together, i was over the moon. i missed them a few times, and that stung a little bit, so when i saw they coming at this time of year, I considered this trip an early 50th birthday present. anyway, the atmosphere of the entire show took me back to the mid-90s, just with a bit more of us fogeys peppered in. and when they the first chord, I got goosebumps and instantly felt 18 again - in spirit of course, seeing as, you know, i'm no longer a spring chicken. i don't know if the band sees this, but if they do here's a message for them: thank you so very, very much. your energy captured me as a geeky kid, and has helped sustain me as i've become a geeky middle-aged man. i hope our paths cross again.

I had never even heard of Samantha until 3 days ago. I am so blown away by Gumshoe that I made a very uncharacteristically impulsive decision to buy tickets for the Austin show and drive 2 hrs to see her. My daughter and I were not disappointed. She was as incredible live as I had hoped. There is nobody out there who sounds like her. On top of that what came across is a humble and honest person. I cannot say enough good things about her or this album. In my view, she should win at least one grammy if not more. She is going everywhere on this tour. Do not miss her singing these songs. You will be missing out on something and someone very special. What an instrument her voice is! So blessed to have found her and to see her live. Thank you, Samantha for overcoming your stage fright to share your incredible talent.

Honestly I really liked it even though it was cold and rainy. Die Spitz have definitely grown in fanbase and popularity since I last saw them in November so props to them. Since they had grown in popularity too, I knew some people who attended the show, small world. The crowd was awesome as always, Mohawk tends to bring big crowds in anyways which I love.

It was so amazing! First a band named “Them” performed as an opener. They were absolutely awesome! I met them after the show and got a signed poster. After, Baby bugs performed. She was so amazing and was super sweet!! Then solya performed! She was amazing and lots of people in the crowd got to touch her hand (including me!!!!) Overall a very awesome show with very awesome songs!!!!

A long awaited return for Prof here in Texas. Pookie Baby, knowing it has been several years, posed this question to the crowd.. Could we entertain the idea that this could be one of the best night of our lives? And with that, Stophouse brought the energy to ensure that delivery. 🤘 With what Prof labeled “The best live performance of Motel this year” & “The first time “Flower boy received points on the scoreboard” (If ya know ya know) it’s easy to see that this love is not wasted on the Minnesota native. Tae Supreme, also mentioned that he would one day love to live in the city of Austin Texas. Bangers, hilarity, passion & some time in the deep end, Full steam carried through as we rounded the fourth quarter, and headed into overtime. 🔥 Pookie Baby tore the fkn house down for the sold-out crowd at Austin’s Mohawk. Even with the city noise ordinance in place that had to be the loudest crowd I’ve ever screamed along with. 🫶

One of their best shows ever. Jordan’s meaningful speech made it even more worth it. Pictoria Vark was an awesome opening set that really set the show and was very endearing. Sweet Pill was amazing and brought so much energy to the night leading up to La Dispute, ending their set with Jordan coming out for their last song. And of course, La Dispute playing Wildlife in full was another level experience to be remembered.

Always a great time watching shows at Mohawk. The acoustics, and especially the number of viewing areas is a major plus. The Lagwagon show on Oct 1, 2022 was one of the best shows I've seen in recent memory. I've been a fan of theirs for nearly 30 years and was so thrilled to see them.

Band was great!!! Wish I could have heard more from Do the Beast, but it was amazing! Venue was great but there were no real covid protocols. I don't think that's a huge issue, but the ticket agency sent a few emails saying there would definitely be requires masks, negative covid tests or vaccination records.

Reports of heavy metal’s death are greatly exaggerated. Spirit Adrift treat Austin to a triumphant return before kicking off an ambitious European tour. Last night’s Spirit Adrift show, their first since Nate Garrett moved from Arizona to just outside of Austin (just a few miles from Rancho Bulboso), was a triumphant return, reminding me of when I saw Baroness in 2013 after they survived a horrific crash where their bus plunged down a 40 foot cliff in England in 2012. Two members were injured so badly they had to leave the band, and others were in the hospital for weeks and had to go through intense physical therapy and learn to play again, working around their injuries, just nine months after the accident. When remaining members John Baizley and Pete Adams came onstage at the Subterranean in Chicago, it was jubilant. They were clearly stoked to be alive and playing. Adams left in 2017 to focus on his own projects, leaving Baizley as the sole original member. Garrett’s ordeals might be less obviously dramatic, but still significant. Spirit Adrift began as a solo project, with Garrett battling his personal demons and addiction in the Arizona mountains and desert. During the pandemic, he and his wife moved to a rural area outside of Austin, bought land and built homes for themselves and his grandparents who raised him. Dealing with that and the pandemic, he still managed to release an EP on new label Century Media, Forge Your Future, on August 27 last year. For their Texas debut, brothers Marcus (drums) and Preston Bryant (synths) were no longer in the band, replaced by Mike Arellano (drums), Sonny DeCarlo (bass) and Leanne Martz (guitar). Leanne was sporting a Baroness shirt, who’s talented new-ish guitarist Gina Gleason, is inspiring as a fresh new songwriting contributor. At last night’s Sword concert at the Mohawk in Austin, this stoner metal band truly ROCKED. The crowd was great too. Between Zombi and The Sword, I met and made a few new friends, then I was baptized in the glorious human mosh pit, pelted with beer, hair, sweat and spit. Living, breathing humanity!🤘🤘🏻🤘🏿

Wonderfully nostalgic. Took me back to one of my favorite teenage memories. I have to find a Sony Walkman and a Tony Hawk Powell Peralta skateboard stat! No gimmicks. They just came out onto the stage and rocked for a solid two hours. My ears are ringing like hell, but it was well worth it. Page Hamilton you did and your mates did a splendid job.

Full of energy from the opening of the Sailor Poons to John Maus. Would of loved to hear SP play a longer set they are amazing entertainers. Maus didn’t disappoint. The crowd was on fire. Bouncing the whole concert. Crowd surfing and at least one guy getting drug out of the building for acting a fool. What fun!!!!!
