Sleep token are absolutely amazing live. I was seated and apart from the rubbish seats (last minute tickets) it was a spiritual ritual. Even from so far away you can feel their energy they radiate. Venue was okay apart from sitting in the front on a corner and my view was blocked from the railings. Didn’t want to stand and obstruct others view. Staff were helpful and kind. I have massive anxiety and don’t leave the house much but once they were on all was forgotten that’s how good they are 🖤
Absolutely amazing show! They really got the crowd moving and all the guys sounded good live too! Never had heard of the opener ‘the bronx’ before but they were really good as well so definitely will be checking them out! Very hard hitting punk music! I would definitely recommend people go see it :)
I say this often after a concert but last nights Nick Cave gig was off the scale. He’s been on my bucket list for a long time and I was gutted when lockdown meant my last attempt at seeing him resulted in a cancelled gig. But my god did last night make up for it. Apart from a short departure from the stage for a few minutes before an encore, they played not stop for a solid two and half hours. There were tracks from right across the bands back catalogue and a great mix of high octane bangers through to exquisite ballads and everything in between. The track “I Need You” was phenomenally moving… I must have got some dust in my eyes… The best tracks (of which there were many) were the ones that built and built to an ecstatic crescendo, the four gospel backing singers adding to this in a way that made it feel like a spiritual experience for me!! Most of the new album Wild God featured which made me realise what a masterpiece this album truly is.
I have no idea why I’ve just written such a long review of the gig, I’ve never done this before! I guess it’s a reflection of just how good it was. I left home for the gig feeling a bit broken by the events across the pond earlier in the day, I got home feeling healed. I love the power of music! 🎶☺️
UNBELIEVABLE
To be going so strong after 30 years and still turning out sick songs is a feat not many have conquered. To be such strong performers shows what true artists they are.
I have memories watching these through my youth and recently shared them with my lad twice in recent months.
Thank you SUM 41
My first ever concert and a great experience! Pierce the Veil was as always amazing. The crowd was very overwhelming and many people passed out. I myself suffered two dizzy spells and had to leave the crowd to recollect myself in the toilets. The opening acts were also very entertaining!
An excellent night, loved them when watching them on TV at Glastonbury. Couldn't wait to see them live.
They were brilliant, They deserved the spot as support band for Keane.
It will not be long till they are the top band with their own supporting bands.
Keep it going guys, you are fantastic.
A first class band. Amazing live and better in real life. They took their sounds to a higher level. Their music is iconic. 20 years later their songs sound as current now as they were back then. I would not have missed them in Cardiff for the world.
amazing apart from the fact some people don’t have crowd etiquette. Crowd surfers didn’t go in different directions leaving the same group of people to carry them making us all really weak and we started dropping them because we physically couldn’t hold them up anymore. Bands were absolutely insane so apart from the crowd lacking manners it was fucking great
Great concert, especially BMTH. Bad Omens was very good too. I personally didn't think this was as good as when I saw them last year, but that was a headliner whereas this was a support. It just felt a bit "stale" and not as fresh and authentic. Of course they are still incredible live, I've just seen them be better.
(Oh, and people need to learn how to chill and not push others out of the way trying to get closer. And please don't record every single song! It's really unpleasant for others behind you to have their view blocked by your arm and phone the whole night.....(rant over). But seriously, just be respectful and considerate of others(ok, now rant over).)
One of the very best concerts I’ve ever been to in my life! The setlist, performances, stage lighting, props, the crowd, the merch - it was all perfect! I’m hoping Fall Out Boy do another show in Cardiff in the future - I love Fall Out Boy and would love to experience that again!
been a life long dream to see nashville live and bowen*young were the cherry on top, they were absolutely incredible live it was beautiful. thank you so much for going on tour, one of the best nights of my life. please come back to the UK asap❤️
Pulp has long carried a reputation for being one of the best live bands, and there have been a few sporadic reunion performances over the years since they downed instruments back in 2001. Their announcement last year of another reunion sent me scurrying to secure tickets, even though prices were considerably higher than I would normally pay for a gig.
It was worth every penny. Frontman Jarvis Cocker led his band through a two hour set that mixed their classic pop anthems with some of their more quirky, lesser known songs. After a teasing opening session of visuals on the big screens, the curtains parted as Pulp broke into the first song ‘I Spy’, immediately followed by ‘Disco 2000’ to get the packed arena bouncing. With an occasional pause while Jarvis chatted to the audience, telling a little story to set up the next song or teasing the locals with his attempts to speak Welsh, the band ripped through a two hour set of 19 songs. It kept its showstopper ‘Common People’ to number 16 on the list, at the end of the first encore (“Is there a song that we’ve missed?” asked Jarvis). As some people drifted away after that, thinking the show over, Pulp returned to run through a further trio of less well-known numbers, confident that it had its audience heated up enough to stay with them.
The sound needed to be big and deep to fill the arena, and there was a hard working string section backing the seven piece band. The balance was just about right, if there was a faint reverb on the vocals. The light show and back screen visuals complemented each song without distracting too much from the performers, and the big screens to the sides of the stage enabled those of us at the back to see the band in detail.
I have been attending live music gigs for all of 55 years now and this show was one of the most outstanding that I’ve seen in that time. Pulp don’t disappoint, and their reputation is deserved, even after more that 20 years since their last album release.
A final word, on the support act. Baxter Dury strutted the stage, swore and shouted a lot, and spent most of the time strutting and posing whilst removing jacket and shirt and occasionally putting them back on. From time to time he spat out some words over the monotonous, if rather hypnotic, backing that his three piece band laid down, all drums, bass and synths. The female keyboard player could actually sing and one or two songs could have been quite interesting without Baxter’s tirades, although each number was indistinguishable from the next. Baxter ain’t no Ian Dury. Slightly embarrassing, if rather comical.
Absolutely incredible show. Although I wouldn’t count myself as a huge fan I saw him with a friend at Cardiff Castle last year and was so blown away that I dragged my (slightly reluctant) husband along to see him this year. To his surprise he absolutely loved it. Mr Bublé is such a showman - not only does he have a wonderful voice, but he is warm and funny, and really involves the audience. His orchestra is superb, as are his backing singers,. He is one of those artists that you really have to see live to appreciate. I would go back and see him again and again. Superb.
Absolutely amazing gig, finally got to see them, after a 35 year wait! Their set was awesome and blistering and so loud, my ears are still ringing.. had a great view from the balcony,at the side and it's probably my 2nd fave gig of all time, after the smashing pumpkins. It's a shame they never played - the sad punk, debaser or tame. But overall,it was just fantastic. 🎸🤘💙.
Absolutely brilliant! Well organised and the atmosphere was amazing. Of course Dom was fantastic as usual and looked after his fans exceptionally well, having gender neutral toilets and stopping the show a couple of times in order to pick some fans up who had fallen in the front row.
Great concert. You can tell that these two girls really enjoy what they do. They're both so incredibly talented. Their acoustic cover of Songbird in honour of Christine Mcvie was amazing - you could hear a pin drop in the arena while they were singing it. Would have given 5 stars but I wasn't too impressed with the support act.
What a Band , so much energy and Brett's vocals were amazing! All in a great venue with easy access, excellent sound and several bars with little queuing. I'm back there in Jan 2023 to see Black Stone Cherry - can't wait !!!
Lost half a star for not playing my favourite DG song (Ain’t no love) but otherwise note-perfect performance from Dai 😉
Seemed to be in great form and happy to be playing Cardiff, which, as he said, being a Solva Boy, was the closest thing to a hometown gig he had 🙂
A great night!
It was a great night out in Cardiff, doors opened at 6pm the merchandise was out ready and the crowds were flocking in. Europe kicked off the night and it was brilliant to see them live. Foreigner was had a hard act to follow but they weren't bad and finally the bittersweet moment came to have the sensational David Coverdale and Whitesnake in on stage to play the last ever gig of the UK leg of the farewell tour it was an emotional time for all on stage as well as the audience but he had the welshsnake choir sending him off the only way we know Loudly and each and every voice probably paying for it afterwards
The Raven age were really good as we’d never even heard of them before last night. Shinedown we’re absolutely amazing and really should have headlined the gig. Their show was simply fantastic.
I’ve listened to alterbridges album so was really looking forward to hearing them live.....what a disappointment and in my opinion were totally outclassed by the previous performances.
The visual show was interesting but didn’t really make up for the distorted sound. In the end we actually left early.
