Would be 5 stars but the sound was awful for first 3 or 4 songs. Drums were so loud and times couldn’t hear him sing at all! A few of us said to sound guy and it was eventually sorted. Should have taken so long . He is amazing though and did have great night
what a funny gal and she had PIPES. shame there was some TWAT of a 2m tall man in front of me who wouldnt MOVVEEE
Amazing show, amazing ladies, amazing sound and amazing vibes 💖 loved every minute, rocked the house down, was my niece's first ever gig too and what a show to experience for her first, total core memory made, thank you for the music 💖
Wow wow wow. This was one of my all time best gigs ever. And the VIP meet and greet was amazing. Such a great night from start to finish. And Julie's side project Dosiopath with Solon Bixler was fab.
Wish it wasn't the end of DV, but I understand how hard it is to balance being a mum whilst my son was young and how you can only do so much.
I hope on Anniversaries of albums that J&L get together and tour at those moments. And can't wait to hear Lindsey's solo music being released.
I wish Julie all the best on finishing her Forensic Phycology and all projects she had coming up.
Good luck girls. You rock. 🫶🏴🤘
One of the best gigs I’ve been to! Definitely a highlight for me. I also got to meet them afterwards and they were so sweet!! I really hope they come back to Glasgow <3
Fantastic night. Son's first King Tut's gig and he loved it. Crowd were brilliant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Music was great, as usual. Can't recommend enough. Go see these guys, download their songs.
First time seeing this talented but very underrated band and it won't be the last. Tom, Pete and Hiro were incredible from start to finish churning out all those melodic songs I dearly love. Thanks guys! 👌👌👌
Amazing performance by the whole band. The harmonies were beautiful, the music was soaring and the guys on the desk did a brilliant job at making sure the levels were perfect. Fantastic gig!
Living in Aberdeen we are somewhat starved of regular gigs so have to select bands to travel and see, namely stranglers and SLF. I have since added ist ist to this list after a truly memorable gig at king tuts on Thursday. Venue is unbeleivably good, been once before to see Radkey and it is a fantastic venue. If you are considering going to see ist ist, DO they will blow you away, first song starts with a great base line and then the rest of the band kicks in, i just stood there and went fcuk aye, it was pounding. Go and absorb it, you won't get better. Can't wait to see them again. @simeninblack
Just makes me want to see them again. What a fantastic performance and a wonderfully intimate venue. 2nd time seeing them here and they knocked it out of the park 🤩
The show was amazing. Nati's voice, character and presence on stage was everything I was hoping it would be. She played perfect songs for the range in the audience, those who were hoping for Scots, her original stuff or a mixture, like myself. I love Nati for her own music but her traditional material is something no true Scot could possibly not enjoy. I cannot wait for Rosyth now ❤️
The gig was fantastic we love tuts and our first time encounter with Dwellar and Puma blue completely loved both artists and will be listening to them a lot more. Glad for the experience
Absolutely amazing gig!! My youngest daughter is gutted she couldn’t make it due to age restrictions but she was ecstatic with her T shirt!!
It was only many years after 18 Wheeler had broke up that I learned they headlined King Tuts when Oasis were signed in Glasgow that fateful night in 1993. I had been friend and classmate with the 18 Wheeler bassist and his room mate Sean was also someone I knew well enough to chat with. I suppose life has a way of taking your attention away from certain things and climbing the stairs of King Tut's for the first time last night was very emotional, taking me back to memories of my youth and lost friendship.
My impulse purchase for this Sports Team gig was very last minute. The gig was sold out long before and I got lucky to get a return without having to try more than once. It was a fateful outcome as this truly was one of the best gigs of 2019, despite this being the first year seeing Pixies, my favourite act, since we broke the stage at the SECC in the 90s.
I had never even looked at a picture or video of this group, so knew nothing about them other than hearing their polished sound on new Indie playlists.
What I witnessed in the packed out venue was an energy never before seen from a crowd.
The opener was Alfie Templeman and managed to warm up the crowd with some excellent material of his own but the crowd pleasing cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit set the tone for the remainder of the night.
My immediate impression of Sports Team was they are destined for big things. Led by a gobby, slightly unhinged vocalist with a fearless passion for entertainment. Although his build will probably remind most folk of Jagger, he struck me as having more in common with Jarvis Cocker on speed. He hilariously restarted one song midway after a mistake, despite the crowd having already reached rapture mosh pit chaos level. His ability to connect with the crowd and his excellent vocal delivery have him pegged for enduring stardom.
The next impression was the core sound of the band came from the percussionist. Although the guitarists were all very accomplished, Sports Team build from the foundation of the drummer.
The keyboard player has chosen the deadpan persona used by so many acts in the past but carries it off well and certainly generated a wry smile or two.
The playlist was strong, forming a powerful backbone for the soon to be released album. This group mean business and set the venue ablaze for 45 minutes. By the end, the group looked exhausted and I only hope they get the recognition they deserve for their quality.
Badflower were amazing! Been to a lot of gigs but this was the best gig I've ever been to, can't wait to see them again 🎶
Chris Carrabba never disappoints. With the full band, or without them, always amazing. Another reason DC are one of my favourites of all time.
stand up comic - can talk for liverpool - and sinful !!! could not have had a better night during a cold january nite in glasgow
Absolutely incredible performance in a perfect venue. If you thought Delila Paz sounded breathtaking on the records, hearing her live will knock your socks off!
Estrons were good value. Engaged with the crowd. Were tight and played like they enjoyed themselves.
Big surprise for me was LUCIA, support from Glasgow. Excellent live sound. A bit quirky/different look. Well worth looking out for.
