About this concert
Looking forward to welcoming the poet, writer and literary editor Bernard Pozier to the stage at City of Asylum to celebrate our collaborative project Montréal Encore, a French/bilingual album of tender, humorous, mystical, rhythmic songs. We’ll perform the album in its entirety, as well as some additional poetry and commentary in a 90-minute program. We’ll be joined by Brad Yoder on guitars, saxophones and glockenspiel, Jeff Berman on drums and percussion, and Jim Spears on bass. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University. The concert is free but registration is required for in-person and streaming access (see ticket link).

CHRISTOPHER MARK JONES Biography
Singer-songwriter-guitarist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Christopher Mark Jones sings soulful country and blues-inflected Americana narratives in “a rich voice that’s slightly rough around the edges” (Scott Mervis, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette), but still grabs the listener along with his “fascinating lyrics” (Melody Maker, UK) and the “intricate guitar-playing” and “wide-ranging textures and exquisite instrumentation” (Larry Berger, Saturday Light Brigade) of his recordings. Listeners hear echoes of “Greg Brown's pacing and a Lyle Lovett attitude” (Ben Shannon), as well as of John Prine, Bruce Coburn and Darrell Scott.
