About this concert
Eileen Rose is a unique blend of 70?s style troubadour, torch singer, rock chick, and honkytonk girl. She?s lived in Boston, London, Nashville and recently made the move to Freeport, Maine. She?s toured for decades, through the US and Europe, recorded with Alabama 3, released two records on Rough Trade sharing her self-penned songs, her spine-chilling voice, and a deep catalogue of classic covers from the some of the greatest songwriters of all time.
This show features The Legendary Rich Gilbert - a jaw-dropping soloist on both electric guitar and pedal steel whom has recorded and toured with Frank Black, Uncle Tupelo and a host of others.
May 2023 sees the release of Eileen?s newest album, recorded in her beloved Italy. Eileen blended the Holy Wreck with some of the greatest, innovative musicians in Italy to produce a collection of songs that are startling in their uniqueness. The fun and joy of merging this cross-cultural group of players is evident in their beautiful and exciting interpretation of Eileen?s material. At the centre of it all is Eileen?s unmistakable voice which has been called ?a beguiling hybrid of Patti Smith and Marianne Faithful...Rose's formidable array of assault weapons: a curling, insinuating voice at once coy and confessional.? Eileen Rose Biography
Eileen Rose was born in the Boston suburb of Saugus. Having cut her teeth fronting local indie-rock bands Daisy Chain and Fledgling, she moved to England to launch a career as a singer-songwriter and signed for the legendary Rough Trade label. Her debut album, "Shine Like It Does", saw her labeled as "Americana", but she has gone on to explore much wider territory and is known for crossing and blurring musical genres. Critics have compared her to artists from Lucinda Williams and Maria McKee to Bob Dylan and PJ Harvey. Eileen has released 6 albums and tours Europe and the US with her band The Holy Wreck. She recently made the move north from Nashville, TN to Portland, Maine. More at www.eileenrose.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eileen_Rose New record is on the way!
