The best of the 3 shows I’ve seen on this tour! Eric,Billy, and Paul along with drummer Nick D'Virgilio delivered more energy and passion than bands half their age! This is rock and roll as it’s intended, raw and beautiful! If this truly is the last tour, they are delivering every night and going out high and mighty!!
The venue was great, not a bad seat in the house, easy to get to an..super friendly staffers!
I will never be able to say enough about how much I enjoyed the show. Whether he is performing solo, with his string quartet or his band...John puts on a purely remarkable show! I've seen him 5 or 6 times and each time is a different and equally amazing experience. This is the first time I saw him with his rock band and the energy was great! I saw him in Indiana last month and am already making plans to hit another one of his shows later in the year. Good Job Capitol Theatre...for booking this one!
Justin is my favourite singer so I can't give an unbiased review. Great show, great seats. As he said, the Capitol was chosen for the DVD of a previous tour so the theatre rates highly.
I enjoyed the small contributions by his 'guitar guy', perhaps more in future. My only slight gripe was that Karmen's mic should have been louder.
Location, free parking nearby, entry, security, all very easy.
I have been a Justin Hayward and Moody Blues fan for a long time, but never saw any of them until now. Justin Hayward still puts on a great show! I was amazed at how full and rich every song sounded. Justin is a fantastic songwriter, singer, and performer. His band members are all super talented - Mike Dawes, Julie Ragins, and Karmen Gould are all amazing and perform so well together! My husband and I had to make an 8-hour drive to go to their Clearwater, FL show, but I am so very glad that we did. I thought the show was fantastic!
Amazing show. Mac is such a great storyteller and his show was just the right combination of his own stuff and a tribute to his friend, Jimmy Buffett. It was a perfect night. Even more impressive was that he stayed more than an hour after the show to get through the line of people waiting to meet him and take pictures and get autographs.
The Capitol Theatre to me is the best place to watch a concert it's located in Clearwater Fl. There is not a bad seat in the house the people who work the event are always willing to help out. Now about the concert Dave Mason is truly a musical Icon. He and his band has never sounded better His music been around awhile and he always makes it sound new and fresh. Specially love the way he takes the Traffic songs the ones he says are AD after Dave and arranges and makes it his own. If Dave Mason comes to a town near you go see him do not miss a chance to see one of the greatest musicians and a true Hall of Famer
Loved the show. Pat was fantastic as always. Another virtuoso performance. The talking was awesome. To think none of this would have happened if his older brother hadn’t turned him on to Miles Davis … I thought he said “Miles In The Sky” but I forget already. And the recent baritone guitar stuff would never have happened without the instrument maker and country music guy down the street in Lees Summit, MO! Crazy stuff. The music was just great, all the guitars, the 42 stringer, the orchestion. The dude is alone, unique in the world. We are so fortunate. Brilliant.
Pat is such a magnificent artist, and always a pleasure to see. He's flying solo this tour, and of course his effort was spectacular.
I often thought of and was missing Lyle, deeply throughout the performance. I had always hoped for a reunion. Their synergy was otherworldly.
None of us are getting any younger. Capitalize on your opportunities - every day.
Stunning performance, beautiful stage setup (a dozen guitars, etc) . . . with secret stories told about Pat's early influences and collaborators. He showcased the baritone guitar and explained his affinity for the instrument. The Orchestrion arrangements paid tribute to the soundscapes developed over 50 years with mates (dearly-departed): Lyle Mays, Charlie Haden, Jaco Pastorius, Nana Vasconcelos, etc (a long list)!
Gino and his band put on an amazing show.
When they perform the sound is fantastic all put together by his brother Ross on the controls.
Ginos voice and stage presence is total perfection.
During his shows when he speaks to his audience confirms what an amazing man he is.
Wishing Gino, Ross and his band safe travels.
There is no substitute for seeing them live in person. I've never been to this venue it is an older, more intimate theatre but the acoustics from where I sat were excellent. Great show, they came out "swinging" so to speak with the opener and their closing encore was really cool! Thanks for the show, fellas, see you soon.
Stellar performance! My first time seeing The Verve Pipe live, but have been a fan for over 25 years. Villians, Photograph, Medicate Myself were incredibly energetic and sound was perfect from the 2nd row. Encore was a sweet surprise when they performed their cover of The Chain. Tripped me out...love this band...still and more.
Great double bill. Toad was great, as expected, although I would have liked to hear a few more songs from last year’s Starting Now. The Verve Pipe was fantastic: while I was expecting “solemn,” they played extremely faithful yet energetic, even joyous, renditions of their best songs, including Villains, Photograph and, of course, The Freshmen.
Great musicians, very entertaining and sad it wasn’t sold out. I live in Estero Florida and missed buying tickets at the Bonita show as it was sold out so I came up to Clearwater. I’m a big fan seeing them at the Infinity theater in Connecticut multiple times before I moved here.
The Master was in the house delivering a music history lesson. With stories, record facts, and a few light hearted moments, and a band as tight as a compound bow! Every one walked away with giant smiles and just awe for a legend of 76 years young this amazing man sounds and plays better than ever!
Also included was the Dave Mason shop booth with not only T- Shirts but re-recorded vinyl album, CD's
Posters and more all run by super nice people including Dave's wife!
Post show had a meet and greet with Dave and he was signing anything from the shop that was purchased.
I was on cloud 9 during and after the fantastic performance!
We only went to the Los Lobos concert for Edwin McCain. It was once again magical. The venue was amazing, the band was excellent and the set list awesome. I wish he was the headliner-maybe next time. We left after intermission! I will see him any chance I get!
After quad bypass surgery, Ricky Skaggs emerges with Kentucky Thunder as champion of those 'Ancient Tones' (2000 Grammy Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year)! Would love to see the entire setlist posted! Exquisite performances by all 7 band members! Audience and band members alike delighted in a wonderful evening of song.
Great to see and hear the remade 2020 version of the 'acoustic group' by Lyle Lovett for the first show of the winter/spring tour. Stellar musicianship by all; and to think a few new band members only met just before the show. Wow! The bluegrass heritage represented in the delivery and song choices was much appreciated.
I deal with horrible severe anxiety & depression. Collective Soul helped me overcome my biggest fears. Despite my anxiety, I took this trip to Florida to thank the guys who saved my life in person. I wanted to do something huge for myself & make a dream of mine come true. So I did it. All on my own. & I couldn't be more proud of myself for facing some of my biggest fears. These five guys are the guys who SAVED my life. If it weren't for them, I would be dead right now. As you guys know, Dean is especially special to me. I was there an hour early & I was the only fan there waiting. I saw Dean & Jesse walking down the street. I had a whole conversation in my head discussing whether I should take the chance & go over to them or not. I felt bad intruding on their personal time, but next thing I knew I was slowly walking over to them. I approached & said, "excuse me, I'm sorry to interrupt.. but could I please talk to you guys for a minute? I have VIP but I have a lot to say & probably won't have much time in there..". I was shaking & my voice was cracking, on the verge of tears. I told them that I was incredibly nervous. I told them my entire story. About how I had planned to kill myself last summer & if it weren't for their lifechanging concert, I would not still be here. I told them I live in Maine & traveled all the way to Florida just to see them & thank them. I told them everything. I explained to Dean that I really wanted a Collective Soul lyric in his handwriting. Dean asked me what lyrics & I told him. He smiled & he promised he would do it during VIP. I said "I know they don't allow autographs & stuff.." & Dean said "It's not a problem at all. We will do it!". I got two hugs from Jesse & Dean gave me too many hugs to count. I wrote Dean a long letter that I gave him during our chat pre-VIP & he read it before VIP. Before I walked back to the theatre, I got pictures with them. I got photos with both of them together, & photos of me with Dean & me & Jesse. Shoutout to Chris Thompson for being awesome & taking the pictures! When I got to VIP, I noticed Dean talk to the guy who runs their VIP & he pointed at me. They were all incredibly sweet & Dean & Jesse were so happy to see me. Jesse said "Hey, Destinee.. it's been a while!!" 😂 I introduced myself to Will, Johnny, & Ed & got hugs from them all (& more hugs from D & Jesse). I told them I traveled from Maine & they thought that was incredible. I asked them if they could sign my journal & Ed said "of course!!!", then they all signed the first page of my "Shine" journal (Will wrote "Collective Soul" & drew the spiraled arrow in the middle & Dean wrote "C Soul" below his signature), then it was Dean's turn to write my lyrics. The first word of the lyrics I wanted is "you're". Jesse turned to Dean & said, "YOU'RE.. YOU ARE!!!" & Dean was like "I know, I know!!!" lol. Then Dean turned to Ed & said "Destinee is having ME write lyrics YOU wrote!!" & smirked & laughed. It was hilarious. So, he started writing & wrote "You're all" & said "I MESSED IT UP ALREADY. I wrote it too big!".. it was too cute. Then I replied "I'm a lefty too, I get it" & he laughed & said "RIGHT?! It's a struggle!". So he turned to page 3 in my journal & wrote the lyrics out. We took our group picture. I stood between Dean & Ed. Before I left, Dean hugged me in a full 2 armed embrace, kissed my forehead, & said "I love you! Keep your head up & I'll see you in New Hampshire!". It was the best, most meaningful thing anybody has ever said to me. Those are the words & this is the moment I will think of on my roughest days. Meeting Dean, Jesse, Will, Ed, & Johnny meant absolutely everything to me. This band is my entire world.. they changed everything for me. Dean is my entire universe.. I would not be here without him. I can't wait to see & meet my favorite guys again on June 8th! ❤ Thank you all for everything & for being so down to earth & humble. Can't wait to see them again on June 8th in New Hampshire!! 🤗
Scott was great and love his music but the sound and mixing was off. The lead guitar sounded off key and was too loud along with the bass. So much so it drowned Scott out. The amplification of Scott voice was almost toney and did not do his voice justice.
Regardless he put on a great show and loved every minute of it just wish the sound was right.
