So beautiful , a long awaited dream to hear Beth’s voice live . Her band were also incredible . Very impressed by the Barbican as a venue .
Beautiful premiere of his new work "Carve the runes and then be content with silence", a composition that had been recorded, planted in the soil of Orkney, then dug up, and played back. This was then transcribed to score the performance this evening.
Julian is like fine wine, fantastic guitar player witha fantastic band. Also great venue, sound was fanstastic and elevate whatbthe band was playing
Really, really enjoyed her performance. Vocals were on point, seemed effortless & her musicians were a perfect fit…..would gladly see her again!!
I’d have given it TEN STARS if that was an option!!
The Barbican was far easier to find that I worried about! When we got there, there was a band playing upstairs while we enjoyed a drink! The staff were very helpful getting us the the right room (there are numerous performance spaces at this venue!)
The performance itself was sublime, I love her albums but LIVE Samara does more scatting and singing around the tune, playing with her voice, just phenomenal! After the show we even got to meet her and get an autograph! It was an all round FANTASTIC experience and I’m so glad I made the effort to come out!
Lovely to see and hear Judy Collins. Had a bit of problems with trains getting there. But Judy herself was fantastic.
SE wss tremendous, living up to exepectations of previous performances.
He gives everything, the passion and commitmrnt hr has is self evident. Last time i saw hom he had his band, this yime a one man band and not fot one minute was the band missed ( no disrecpect)
It takes guts to.play like yhis snd Stebe had it in bucketd. One small complaint he fid noy play ,
' Fort Worth Blues'
Pls come back again soon.
Brilliant from start to finish, lots of his best tracks and a lot of covers of his favourites including a very poignant cover of one of JTE's best. Steve has got better and better as time has moved on. Still one of the best singer/songwriters around.
This woman illustrates what an artist should be. She goes in the deepest places of your soul , she is kind and humble. Her voice is spectacular just pure and strong
Absolutely electrifying.. The twin sisters always put on a great show, but they were extra energised by the iconic venue and an enthusiastic audience. If you haven’t caught up with Thomas yet, do so as soon as you can, and be wowed by the wonderful harmonies and marvellous songs. A truly great night.
Absolutely mesmerising, the audience hung on every note
Adore this woman’s voice, her beautiful songs and her sultry performance.
A brilliant venue to see her in too.
Pure quality, album is one of the best I’ve heard in years, literally every song is sublime ❤️❤️❤️
It’s not often singers like this come around, get and see her if you can.
Probably the finest jazz quartet in the last ten years at the top of their form. An honour to see them.
It was our first time at the Barbican to see Alexis French also for the first time, A great venue and Alexis was brilliant supported by the fantastic Ayoub Sisters and his special guests can’t wait to see Alexis again.
I‘ m just in the middle of watching the stream. Ultracool jazz sounds and GGP are great. Watched last year „stream only“ concert, but this is even better. Look forward to seeing them live live, I think there’s a concert here in Berlin in spring
A wonderful evening in the company of a truly great artist. Together with Buick 6 Lucinda is a musical tour de force live. Go see her if you can!
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘car wheels on a gravel road album and supported by film clips taken at the time and some intriguing introductions from Lucinda. The Phoenix 6( there’s only 3 of them) provided superb support and brought the Deep South to an iconic London venue in what was a wholly engaging insight into one country rocks leading artists. Standing ovation richly deserved - catch on one of her other gigs if you can!
This was a next level step change performance from a master collaboration. They’ve taken the choreography of this performance through to another realm of experience between extraterrestrial and ultraterrestrial, between mystical and meditative ... unprecedented
A dark solo lured me slowly in - hypnotically leading all of us sitting in the dark into a parallel world - as machine drones looped and shifted and then combined with organic Japanese instrumentation - plumes of bellowing smoke and light. I felt I was in an unseen Kurosawa film.
I went along with 2 friends and we've all seen Nils before but were all still memorised with his professionalism to his craft. An unbelievable talent that engages the audience effortlessly. I found his storytelling fascinating which is no surprise considering his longevity and the number of fellow artists he has worked and collaborated with over the last 50 years.
At 2 and a half hours long with virtually no break apart from briefly departing prior to encore, and the fact that he engaged with his fans after the show for signings, was a true example of the man.
