WEAPON STATUS RED is a California aggressive metalcore band that blends melodic choruses with blistering riffs and drum tempos. Weapon Status Red blends the best of metalcore, hardcore, and metal into a powerful force of melody and aggression. Weapon Status Red is a metalcore band that started in 2009, from the Bay Area, CA. The name, from a military friend of the band, means to take the safety off, the battle is imminent. Scott Bowerman, and Derek Thompson began the band through exchanging ideas back and forth over the Internet. The group later added Skyler McKnight on guitar, Darran on bass, Cohen DeYoung on drums, and began recording an EP. Weapon Status Red has a video for the single, Sink or Swim, which debuted on InsaniTV in late March 2013. Weapon Status Red mixed and mastered their full-length album Sink or Swim with Eric Hill of Blue Room Recording Studios, which was released on May 10th, 2013. There is also a guest vocal on Eyes Like Daggers by Jon Howard of Threat Signal. Weapon Status Red is currently getting their new drummer up to speed, and will be hitting the road for some dates in October 2013 in the Pacific Northwest, and in December 2013 in the Southwest.
