Jay Dref

Classical crossover tenor and recording artist Jay Dref brings together the power and discipline of classical training with the emotional immediacy of contemporary music. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Dref has built an international career distinguished by his warm, expressive tenor, commanding stage presence and ability to move effortlessly between classical, crossover, contemporary and theatrical repertoire.

His performances have taken him to prestigious concert halls, opera houses, festivals and celebrated stages around the world, including Lincoln Center, the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, with engagements spanning North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has appeared in numerous symphonic concerts, including performances with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Niagara Symphony Orchestra and Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, and has performed the national anthem at major NFL, NBA and NASCAR events.
For the past five years, Dref has also toured internationally as a featured guest artist with acclaimed soprano Sarah Brightman, performing across North America, Mexico, Asia and Europe as part of her A Starlight Symphony and A Christmas Symphony tours.

As a recording artist, Dref continues to expand the contemporary side of his musical identity. His original releases include L’Amore è un Attimo and Taxi in the Rain, and he has collaborated with acclaimed songwriters and composers including Stephen Moccio and Lauren Christy. His music has connected with audiences around the globe, amassing more than 1.5 million streams while reaching listeners in 157 countries worldwide.

Among his most recent collaborations is AMAR, an emotionally charged duet with award-winning Norwegian soprano and composer Kristin Amarie, featuring Grammy-nominated composer and pianist David Lanz and Emmy-winning composer/arranger Kurt Bestor, conducting members of the Utah Film Orchestra. The recording has earned international recognition, including a 2026 Clouzine Award and an InterContinental Music Award in the Pop – North America category, as well as a nomination for Original Song at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards.

Performing in six languages — English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Russian — Dref is carving out a distinctive place in contemporary classical crossover: bridging classical tradition with contemporary and theatrical storytelling, and bringing the power and beauty of the classical voice to audiences around the world.
