Biografia de Emory Duncan

Originally from Houston, Texas, Emory Duncan has a taste for the bittersweet, weaving storytelling from the gut into melancholy ballads that feel fragile enough to crumble if you grip them too tightly. Now living and writing from a log cabin tucked away beneath the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the absence of city noise gives him a tranquility of mind and lucidity that manifests in his writing. His second EP, Semi-Circles and Half-Written Songs, was recorded there over the course of a week with producer Jamie Mefford (Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff), and is scheduled for release in early 2026. “Often times the way I feel about something is only revealed to me after I've written about it. Songwriting is my way of getting in touch with my subconscious, and allowing myself to feel all the intrusive emotions we typically like to shut out." Emory writes to survive, to process, and to pry open the deeper parts of the psyche that polite society prefers to ignore. His writing, like postcards from a dream your eyes can't quite recall into focus, are honest, weathered, and as haunted as they are lived in. They're soundtracks for outcasts, romantics, and anyone who’s ever felt too much but couldn't find the words. Unsatisfied with the act of sitting still for too long, Emory feels most alive on the move -- on a sailboat, on a rope and half-way up a cliff face, carving through snow on a board, or in a tent under the stars. Rooted in a playful, reverent connection to nature, his music pairs well with cracked windows, pine-scented air, and nowhere particular to be.
