Van Bellman

An electric guitar walks into a dingy bar and drowns his blues with an espresso martini. Scribbling into a leather-bound notebook of cheeky lyrics and one liners, he dreams up tunes and gags to try on the crowd tonight. Van Bellman is an underdog story: a hired-gun guitarist who believed in himself. This indie rock outfit is the brainchild of Zac Taylor, who you may have seen playing guitar and banjo for multiplatinum band American Authors, or carrying your luggage as an actual bellman at the Gansevoort Hotel a few years back. Or maybe it was onstage accompanying famed comedienne Sandra Bernhard, all the while, developing a unique bluesy, grungy sound and outlandish stage routine. With some love and attention from Sirius XM’s AltNation and Billboard magazine, the future is looking bright, loud, and dirty for Van Bellman. After being featured on the most recent RockBoat in support of his 2024 debut EP Feelers, the second single “Lorelai” from his forthcoming EP Howlers drops June 6, 2025.
