From Warri (Nigeria) childhood to London stages, EyiTemi transforms personal struggle into an electrifying show backed by 8-piece band and support from classical pianist Edison Roberto Carolino (The Piano,UK) and dancer Lois Samphier Read (Contemporary, Hip Hop, Afro)
The British-Nigerian singer songwriter at her highly anticipated London Jazz Festival performance, takes to the stage with raw honesty, rare tenacity and creative energy
With her heart rooted in Jazz, 2x BBC Jazz Awards innovation panel judge EyiTemi, walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention 'I feel I have a voice in my piece of earth and my ambition is to express this honestly through my music'.
EyiTemi's presentation for the festival is the culmination of a 3 part special series that focuses on the exploration of her Afro roots. In this spectacular genre bending showcase, she turns up the Afro 'volume' in the blend with soul, jazz, gospel, spoken word and on this night, classical.
This night introduces new unreleased music and re-imagined tracks spanning 3 albums including the well received latest single, Fighter (recently featured on Jazz FM's late track of the week)

EyiTemi is joined by support act, Brazilian classical pianist and music director, Edison Roberto Carolino. Fresh from stunning singer songwriter Mika and Grammy winning musician Jon Batiste on Channel 4's The Piano, Edison will be breathing Brazilian sunshine into his classical piano performance on the night .
Completing the support slot is talented young dancer Lois Samphier Read. She will be bringing her brand of Contemporary, Hip Hop and Afro dance into the mix, performing to the LIVE band

British Nigerian Singer songwriter EyiTemi's sound stretches past generic soul. She weaves in a diverse range of music influences from Jazz, Gospel to Hip Hop, Folk and laid back funk
She burst into the music scene as a passionate advocate of UKs most exciting unsigned jazz acts through her company J’noir Entertainment. She went on to spend 2 years as panel judge in the innovation category of BBC Jazz Awards.
As a songwriter, she writes songs that resonate and dig beneath the surface. Packing a punch, her songs articulate complicated life experiences in a way that still leaves you feeling light, free and motivated. Her musical inspirations range from legends Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra to favourites Jill Scott, India Aire, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.
With her heart rooted in Jazz, EyiTemi walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention… “I feel I have a voice that is relevant in my piece of earth and my ambition is to express this honestly through my music”
She has sung most of her life (mainly in church) but moved into the singer songwriter territory in 2020; amassing in a relatively short time, a credible number of songs and releasing 2 EPs along the way.
Kaleidoscope, her 3rd album (and first full album) was recorded live with her band at the iconic Rockfield Studios in Wales. It is self released under her record label, J’noir Records. She also co-produces the album. The album was released on VINYL in February 2025
Already a fan favourite, Kaleidoscope has gained an impressive list of admirers:
