Gina Rene Biography

About Gina René:

Gina René is an internationally known American singer and songwriter who discovered her voice through a series of colorful life experiences. Born into a multi-ethnic family (Créole/Choctaw Native Am./Europen) Gina René grew up splitting time between the coastal town of Santa Cruz and the city life of Los Angeles, CA. Music runs in Gina’s family.
Gina sang in both jazz and concert choirs during her high school years. She was accepted into both the regional and All-State Honor Choirs in 1994. After graduating, Gina moved to San Francisco and became the lead singer/co-songwriter of her Brother Gabriel's band, Soulstice. The multicultural arts scene in San Francisco inspired Gina to explore multiple styles with her music. Gina’s songs “U Must Be” and “Meangurl” have been featured in Major Motion Pictures & TV shows such as Disney/ Buena Vista Film’s 2006 ‘Step Up’, Paramount Pictures' 2004 ‘Mean Girls, and more. In 2011-2012 Gina Brought her brother Chris René and her to audition for Xfactor USA and they both made it into the top 50. Gina later joined Michael Franti & Spearhead in 2013-2014 as a main backup singer and was a featured songwriter and artist on his 2014 “All People” album and title track. Gina Rene is cutting the studio co-writing her debut album with producer, keys, drummer, and songwriter Million 7, working on the Soul Bath Experience recordings, and preparing her private coaching and mentorship services for women launching later this year in 2024.
