Tamar Lalo Biography
Tamar Lalo is an Israeli recorder player. After reaching the top in Israel, performing as soloist with a number of orchestras including the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the Maestro Zubin Mehta, Tamar Lalo moved to Europe to broaden her career as an early music player. In the past few years Tamar has played solo and chamber music concerts all over Europe as well as in Japan, China, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Colombia, Israel and more. She is a founding member and a soloist of ensemble La Ritirata and has been invited to collaborate with ensembles such as Forma Antiqva, Kölner Akademie, Euskal Barrokensemble, Musica Ficta and Ensemble Constantinople among others.
Tamar has recorded for the labels Glossa, Enchiriadis, Cantus and Arsis and for Mezzo, the National Spanish TV and Radio as well as Deutschlandradio Kultur and CNART TV. Her recordings were awarded the «Recomendado CD Compact» (Spain), «Disco Excepcional del Mes» (Spain) by Scherzo magazine (Spain), «Melómano de Oro», as well as «4 étoiles» in Classica (Francia), and fantastic reviews by the Toccata and Fono Forum (Alemania), Gramophone and BBC (UK), etc
In the last years she has performed in international festivals such as: Tage Alter Musik Regensburg (Germany), Musika-Musica (La Folle Journée), Felicja Blumenthal Festival (Israel), Malta International Baroque Festival, Varaždin Baroque Evenings (Croacia), St. Olav Festival Trondheim (Norway), The Utrecht Early Music Festival (The Netherlands), as well as concert halls such as the National Auditorium of Beijing (China), the National Theatre of Madrid (Spain), Gemäldegalerie- Berlin (Germany), AMUZ concert hall-Antwerp (Belgium), Palacio Euskalduna (Bilbao). She is also a regular guest teacher in the Tel Aviv International Early Music Seminar organized by the Israeli Conservatory.
Tamar has several bachelor and master degrees, both in classical music and in Historical Performance, from The Royal Conservatory The Hague, The Royal Conservatory Brussels, Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She has been a teacher in Madrid Royal Conservatory and currently is a teacher in the Conservatorio Superior de Castilla y Leon (Salamanca University).
