West Chester Porchfest is organized by the West Chester Green Team to promote community building, foster connections and celebrate the return of spring and the beginning of summer! This free, family-friendly, feel-good event allows attendees to stroll from home to home, relax, and enjoy local musicians performing on the historic porches of West Chester. Sprinkled in between the bands, the WCGT offers environmental education tables like those informing the public about Dark Skies and Living Landscapes and information booths focusing on pollinator gardens and native plants. WCGT has been instrumental in having West Chester awarded the designation of Transition Town. Transition towns promote the mission of TransitionUS: communities coming together to reimagine and rebuild our world, by facing challenging issues starting at the local level. Our annual Porchfest brings attention to issues that the Borough such as cutting down on plastics, reducing the use of pesticides and fossil fuels, and planting more native, pollinator-friendly gardens. In addition to the various genres of live music and environmental initiatives, food trucks and children’s activities are included so there is something for everyone to enjoy! Come out and enjoy the warm weather!
