Douglas Diamond

The mysterious Douglas Diamond is a Swedish artist, singer-songwriter and producer who uses the sounds of rock’n’roll to express his reflections on existential love and hedonistic life.

After the self-made debut album Rare Love released in 2020, Diamond was compared to giants like The Band, David Bowie and Todd Rundgren, mainly for his psychedelic and dreamy sound. Since then, Douglas Diamond hasn’t taken a moment to rest – rather, he’s hit the gas at full speed and shifted gears. In the spring of 2021, in a time of total creative freedom, he recorded more than 50 songs on his own in several different studios. It contains everything from lyrics about love and mania, seraphic escapades and tragedies, to funky grooves and apocalyptic ballads.

Now he is finally ready to show the world what he has worked long and intensively on. The explosive double single Sound of Music / Never Too Late are two tracks – out of many to come – that mirror each other like the sun and the moon, in pure Dionysian spirit. Sound of Music is as raw as an early 70s rock classic, that sounds like a long lost hit from the glam rock era. At the same time, Never Too Late shows Douglas Diamond’s musical width – here, spiritual harmonies and chords reminiscent of psychedelic gospel, together with Beatlesque guitars, gets to play freely over a swinging rhythm.
