Fronted by Oz music luminary Joe Camilleri, The Black Sorrows have been at the forefront of Australian music for decades. The band are renowned for their high-energy live shows, musicianship and infectious rootsy, rhythms.
The Black Sorrows are masters of the eclectic and one of the most sophisticated ensembles in the country. From gospel to sweet soul, raw blues to country with a hint of jazz and wild rock’n’roll joyrides, the band has made a name for itself with genre-defying, well-crafted original songs.

The venue was small and compact, everyone seated could see and hear the band well. The standing area was a bit more of a gamble regarding seeing the band but they would have heard it well. Personally, I think everyone should have been issued a seat and the venue should have scrapped the standing area. Some elderly people were in the standing area unaware they would be standing for the whole time. The band and performance was excellent and Joe and his commentary on just about every song was entertaining and often hilarious.
