Tin Pot Clay Man Biography
Tin Pot Clay Man is the brainchild of Manchester-based Australian artist, Gaurav Jaswal.
Formed in 2020 as a way to write demos for an old project and pass the time during lockdowns, what emerged was the project’s debut EP ‘What Will They Think?’. As life moved on and the tracks received interest in hometown Melbourne, a live band was frantically assembled. This was followed by shows and festival appearances across the country. The band has since released subsequent singles, ‘Personal’, ‘Sometimes I Go Outside’ and the popular ‘MTV’ with the latter gaining widespread airplay across Australia’s radio network.
More recently, following Jaswal’s move to the UK, the band has found a new home in Manchester and has regrouped with members Rachel Cawly, Sam Groom and Jake Rayner. Their first release as the new-look TPCM, the double-single ‘Vacant/Ally’, is out on Thursday, 29th February with busy touring plans set for 2024.
“A powerhouse blend of 80’s dance music and punk with a modern shoegaze sound.” (BeatMag Australia)
“Fans of DIIV, Beach Fossils and Slowdive keep watch!” (Music-News.com)
