Dustin is an absolutely incredible folk singer songwriter whose beautiful lyrics are only matched by his humility on stage. Check him out if you can. The Scratcher was a terrific venue for an intimate acoustic gig by the way

Dustin Lowman Biography
Dustin Lowman writes antisensical songs: lyric-driven tunes that illuminate and deconstruct the nonsense of living. He is a self-taught singer, guitarist, harmonica player, and lyricist who patterns his style on troubadour types — Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Aimee Man, Adrienne Lenker, Cass McCombs. Based in Brooklyn, Dustin performs regularly at venues in the borough, and has also appeared at the Poetry Foundation in Chicago, IL and the Levitt Pavilion in Westport, CT.
Originally from Westport, CT, Dustin began writing creatively instantly upon learning how to shape letters in kindergarten. Sympathetic tales about Frankenstein and NFL-bound dragons (yes, really) in grade school gave way to confessional poetry and songs in high school; the latter forms burn as brightly now as they did then.
Dustin writes and perform songs equally comic and tragic. His recordings are saturated with both elements: A song entitled “Bankrupt & Crucified” may be his most optimistic, and “Rather Be Right” compares the merits of starting a religion and falling in love. A sadness undercuts every smile; laughing follows nonfatal pain. Such is the duality Dustin’s songs straddle.
