FeelFree Biography
“Bringing a smooth vibe with strong guitar and horn lines, their sound amps up any mood. It warms you up on cold days, transports you to another place and makes you want to groove out. Seeing FeelFree live is a can’t-miss.” (District Fray, July 2021)
Sounds to help you FeelFree. Formed in 2010 in Alexandria, VA by childhood friends Andrew Pfeiffer, Evan Hulehan and Garrett Clausen, award–winning rock/reggae band FeelFree fuses explosive horn lines, tasteful guitar, and honest songwriting for a high energy live show. With no record label support, they have amassed more than a million streams, independently written and produced three albums with their 2018 LP Define the Free winning a "Wammie" for Washington DC's Best Reggae Album. Pegged as "the sound of summer" by Northern Virginia Magazine, FeelFree has headlined multiple sold out shows around the DC area and played some of the area’s biggest festivals like FloydFest, LOCKN’, and Jampacked sharing the stage with internationally and nationally touring acts like Steel Pulse, Lettuce, Sister Nancy, Sublime w/ Rome, The Green, and The Movement. The band is currently at work on their fourth full length album, having released a five song EP titled "Overdue" in March of 2023.
The seeds of FeelFree were first planted in 2004 when Pfeiffer (vocals/guitar/trombone) and Hulehan (guitars/vocals/trumpet) began playing music together in band class while enrolled in George Washington Middle School in Alexandria, VA. After adding Clausen (bass/vocals/keyboards/saxophone) in 2010, FeelFree was officially formed. The band immediately began releasing songs on the internet over the course of 2010-2013 resulting in two albums worth of material: In The Hills (2012) and The Ebb Tide EP (2013) and then hit the road touring up and down the east coast. After a few band personnel changes, Kevin Raitz joined the band full-time on drums in 2017 as the band finished up work on their third album.
