Dairy Daughters

Raised on Dairy farms and country music, Shelby Dressel and Megan Gertken form a country duo out of Nashville, Tennessee.
Shelby Dressel grew up in Avon Park, Florida born into a musical family started singing and playing guitar at a young age. When she was 18 she auditioned for season 9 of American Idol making it in the final top 46. Shelby also made an appearance and performed on The Ellen DeGenerous show in 2010 and has opened for acts such as Sammy Kershaw, Chris Young and Boston. Shorty after her exposure, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to further pursue she musical journey.
Megan Gertken grew up just outside of Albany Minnesota, and started playing music at 7 years old. She started with piano and picked up fiddle around the age of 9. Megan and her sister started playing classical music which brought them to playing fiddle contests, weddings and other events around Minnesota. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee when she was 19 and had the opportunity to play the Ryman stage and open for acts such as Terri Clark, Chris Christopherson and other well known artist. In 2013 she joined a tour with Americas Got Talent Fernando Varela, where she traveled the US playing classical music.
Shelby and Magan met in Nashville where they played music together at one of Nashville's main attractions, Tootsies Orchid Lounge. They then began writing songs together that lyrically portray their view of life, love and self image. They have a sound uniquely their own, reflecting their roots and influences, such as Patty Loveless, George Strait, and many others. The girls have been playing music and writing songs together for the past 3 years and have been traveling and performing all around the US.
