Davis combines the best of rock and ska with undertones of country. His diverse style mirrors his diverse life experiences. The native West Virginian has been a geologist, Peace Corps fisheries volunteer, glass factory worker, and a public-school science teacher. Davis has played in numerous original bands most notably the Free Hummus All Stars as well as Gene Pool, who shared the stage with the Red-Hot Chili Peppers and the Swimming Pool Cues. Since the early 2000s, Burge has mostly concentrated on his singular brand of folk-pop storytelling. Employing wry humor, dexterous guitar work and an ear bending vocal range, if it’s been discovered by man, Todd Burge has written about it. Born to ponder and observe life, each of his songs tells a story. Whether drawn from personal experience or a tale of poetically woven fiction, you’ll live every second of it through his songs.
